Would you like the new type to be "metal " ?

And Steel becoming supereffective against Metal type or something related to metal ?

Edit: I just researched something about before the introduction of fairy type and noticed that Meloetta looks like a fairy ( even though it's not a fairy type) and is also a mythical who once was seen with the protagonist( not caught)

Anything "metal" would fall under the Steel Typing, which is already called Metal in some languages as well as the TCG. This wouldn't be any different than adding a Plant-Type, which would be redundant (though terminologically more accurate) since the Grass-Type already covers plant-based Pokémon.

You're right, i remember that metal is also used inside steel, but i also heard something about "alloy" being strong or stronger than steel and has something metalic in name that i forgot hmm, maybe "metallic alloy" , would it bd possible if they name the new type "alloy" ? Though i also heard about something new that was discovered being stronger than steel " ultralight" some kind of pink/purple sponge thing

I genuinely think any sort of metallic substance typing would be way too easily confused with Steel. Even if you were to go to something tougher like Titanium, it'd just be more easily understood as Steel anyway even if it's technically incorrect.

idk, I don't think Meltan or Melmetal is indicative of anything in particular.

Remember that pokemon shoves science through the lens of a child. Steel is iron processed in carbon. But in the Pokeverse Steel = Metal and therefore all Metal is Steel.

Iirc if you look at Magcargo's dex entry, it claims that it is hotter than the surface of the Sun. Take pokemon science with a grain of salt.

All an alloy is, is a metal reinforced with something else (often another metal), usually to make it stronger. Steel is basically metal type already, as its clear a lot of steel type Pokemon aren't even made of steel to begin with, for example, Bronzong.

Edit: Plus, I forgot to mention, Steel already is an alloy in itself.

It's not a hint at a new type, as Steel types are basically, all kinds of metal, so I highly doubt we're getting a metal type out of Melmetal.

    This thread is weird xD

I was going to post something like 'noooooo i just want fairy to be a new type! nothing else!! FAIRIES ARE THE BEST', though xD
