    long title I know but was wondering this for a while now..
    so what is the biggest amount of cash you've wasted in one go ?

    for me it's 700 pounds/dollars on a laptop

    I think mine was in December last year when I spent $2539 on my MacBook. It was meant to be upwards of $3300, but I got 25% off because I have a friend who works at an Apple store... so I think I got off incredibly lucky XD

    It was, most likely, my DSLR camera which was £1300, even though £1000 was paid for by the insurance company because it got nicked! ;D

    I wasted around 800 bucks on a 360, Wii, and at least 5 games on each platform during Christmas of 2010. Not too money I know but I prefer to be a conservative spender nowadays.

    Most money I've personally spent out of my own pocket was $250 on the wii... (and I got like 3 or 4 extra games, so more like 300 or so.) My parents have spent far more than that on me though.

    The most I have wasted was £450 on my first ever Laptop, which was an Advent, with Windows XP.

    Most I spent with my own money was $344.69 on a new wardrobe in 2010. A few days after, I spent $250.93 (still my own money) in addition to that wardrobe at the same store. I don't think I've wasted money by spending that much. I still wear those clothes.

    I wouldn't call it wasting, but the plane tickets from London --> New York --> Tokyo --> London (via New York again) did eat a large part of my savings (about £950). So much so that my bank called me up thinking someone had stolen my card!

    I've blown hundreds of dollars on clothes in one go before and once just bought an iPod touch on a semi spur-of-the-moment kind of thing (I had been sort of saving for one but never actually planned on when to buy it). I like to spend money.

    Proooobably one of those times where me and some others would go to eat, not quite know what we were getting in to, and ended up wasting $80 for some sort of fancy meal that wasn't all that good.

    I suppose wasting money on clothing counts, but that was mostly my parents wasting their money when I was younger, because whenever I spent my own money on clothes, I'd get ones that I actually liked so I'd wear them. xp

    That was totally wasted? I have no idea. Probably on a bunch of food. I tend to spend a lot more money on food than I should.

    The most money I spent on one go was likely $600 for my laptop. That wasn't a waste though. I love my laptop.

    Wait, are you saying you got all those flights for only £950?

    My biggest single purchase was similar, round trip tickets to Osaka, for something like $1300. Add in the costs I incurred while I was there and you've got me way over $2000. I made sure I let my bank know what I was doing before I went though, just in case I needed to use my card.

    @_@ HOLYCRAP WHERE DID YOU BOOK YOUR TICKETS?! THAT'S SO CHEAP FOR ALL THAT!

    .o. And for me it was probably um.. my camera that was $900.. but I wouldn't say wasted ;o;

    Largest amount of money I've spent in one go on something that wasn't school or rent or hotel room bookings that I got reimbursed for would probably be on one of my consoles. I can't remember what was more expensive, my 360 + a few games or my 3DS. :s I guess the latter doesn't count because my parents helped me pay for it as my birthday gift but I still died a little inside when my visa bill came last month. XD;

    Most of my big purchases are things I get a looot of use out of, though, so I've never regretted any of them. Might have to agree with Sammi on the food thing, in that case. Roommates and I ordered in sooo many times last semester because we were too lazy to cook. T_T;;

    Ummm probably this year when I bought my 3DS and a copy of Ocarina of Time 3D. My GameStop card wasn't renewed, and I couldn't use my used copy discount because there wasn't a used blue 3DS nor a used OoT so...bleh. :( I don't even remember how much that was, honestly. Oh, and let's not forget the jacket I bought that day. That was about $25 dollars...OoT was about $45...let's not bother counting in the 3DS lol. That's not really that bad compared to everyone else in the thread though... ^____^ Definitely not a waste though!

    i don't think i've wasted a ridicluous amount of money because my family is quite thrifty and puts a lot of value on being economical.
    but the biggest i've spent in one go would probably be $120 or so on clothes.

    $700 on my laptop and a new wireless router at the same time. I think the money was totally worth it, because at that time I needed a computer for school. xD I don't think, iirc, if I went past that recently. lol
