Hi, I've spent 20 minutes looking for this card without success. The language doesn't help (Spanish), but didn't see a similar English one either.

Dragonair 18/102 Rare 1st Ed 1999-2000 (no shadowless) Spanish.
Quality is pretty meh, with lot of black dots (which seems like I could clean them, but don't know how).

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Based on other prices, I think one in actually good condition would be $5, and that one would be worth maybe $1.

Hey there! Hopefully I can give you some insight into these cards. :) Keep in mind some of these prices can change! I'm going to list these by how they're shown in the attachment too.

The Giratina lv.X Promo would be worth around $4 mint condition. Since you have some bending to this card it's going to be less. I recommend sleeving it and placing it between the pages of a thick book for some time in order to flatten it out. Focus Band in mint is going for around $5 right now. Your Computer Search is good because it's from the first release and not Base Set 2, so it's slightly more expensive. Mint condition is going for about $2.50. Now, here's some really good stuff. That Kadabra of yours is from Legendary Collection, a special run of Base Set cards. They're extremely popular, especially the reverse holo ones. Your Kadabra can go for up to $15 to $18, from my research. That's a great find! Yours Arcanine on the other hand is just your regular old Base Set Arcanine. I wouldn't expect anything more than a dollar for it.

Your Arceus lv.X Promo is another pretty common card that typically goes for around $4. The Item Finder (or Detector, as it's listed) is another interesting one. I could not find any information on the cost of this card in French, but the English 1st Edition can go as high as 22$! The 1st Edition Machamp is something all Pokemon fans got in the first Base Set theme deck, so it's really only worth about $5. For future reference, ones printed without the 1st Edition symbol are worth more lol. Lt. Surge is a fair bit better at around $7, provided it's new/mint. And lastly, your Reverse Holo Claydol can usually sell for just under $4.

In total, you're looking at *possibly* $60 worth of cards on face value. But please remember that condition plays a big roll in the final price. I hope this was helpful for you! :)

Not seeing whatever Pikachu card you're referring to though..?

Aggron is fake (Energy symbols and fonts are immediate giveaways). The rest are in too poor of condition to actually hold value currently (maybe a couple will have value in a decade or two as mint copies get more scarce). As are all of the ones in your previous post except for Giratina and Kadabra.

I have a Next Destinies 102/99 Zoroark Secret Rare (LP condition). But someone told me that it is a misprint/ error card, because, there are 3 curved lines in front of the HP, instead of 2. Does anyone know the value of this card (preferably in euros)?

So, it's an error, but because it's a secret the error is basically the only version in circulation, if they even bothered to actually release the corrected version.

Per CardMarket, the price over the last 30 days is: 22.75 €

Does anyone still collect 1st gen pokemon cards? I found my old collection that has been in storage since the 90's. All are marked '95, '96 '98. I have 50 or so "rare" with the star at the bottom and more than 100 cards total in a separate box. Also have many "Trainer" cards and "energy" cards...all 1st gen as well. Is there a market for these?

There is for the rares, but it would depend on condition and making sure you don't have any counterfeits mixed in. The others the market is more spotty.

What you'll want to decide is if you'll want to invest significant chunks of time maximizing your value or if you'd rather just sell it as a bulk lot of cards to a card retailer and get their bulk rate prices for your collection and be done with selling the collection.

I've also moved your post over to the appropriate thread for these types of questions (The "What is this? Is it fake? How much is this worth?" thread).

I personally pretty much exclusively collect early gen cards and I can promise you there is a market for these. The deal is, unless you sell them as a bulk haul for dirt cheap, no one is going to be interested until you've listed details for every card, including pictures, and especially the condition.

Thank you. I don't mind selling as a bulk lot. What are some retailers to look into? Thanks

    Help Required

Hi All, apologies if this thread is in the wrong section.

Just after some help regarding a card a can not find or identify online.

We were clearing out some old toys and belongings and found a shiny 'Harlsen' card. While I have identified that it is a Qwilfish I cannot find this particular card anywhere online.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

PokeCommunity has a whole section for TCG here:
    https://www.pokecommunity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=14

You'd have better luck getting an answer there, although just looking at the card, it looks completely fake.

Moved this thread to the correct place.

I'm also pretty sure that the card is fake; besides the obvious signs such as the values of its HP and attack power of its moves, Harrison (mispelt Harisen here it seems) was the Trainer of Qwilfish in the TV show, not the actual Pokemon itself (and even then, no Pokemon card uses a nickname as its actual card name as far as I'm aware).

  • It is 100% a counterfeit/fake. I can tell from the card name, the way the attack's energy cost is arranged, the discolored artwork used, the holofoil pattern used (no Pokemon card has used that holofoil pattern, let alone across the full body of the card, the low quality images used for the energy symbols (and also incorrect when compared to ones used on an actual card), the incorrect fonts scattered throughout the card, and the fact that weakness and resistance fields on an actual card would only use one of an energy symbol, not multiples to indicate the type weak to or resisted.

I have some misprint cards, but it's hard to find an expanded guide to misprint or error cards. Does anyone know a suitable guide for both beginners and professional collectors?

For Error cards, there's generally a fairly quickly updated list maintained on Bulbapedia. Beyond that I'm not aware of any comprehensive list.

There is a facebook group for miscuts associated with Heyfonte but IDK how knowledgeable they are, either. Miscuts and misprints can attract fairly niche collectors.
