What is your speciality type?

My specialty has always been the fire type.

What are you good at? Bug, psychic, electric, ground, flying, metal, fairy, dark, normal, fire, water, ice?

I love fire, personally; this is where most of my most favorite Pokémon belong, including Charizard, Vulpix, Ninetales, Blaziken, and Heatran. I've made a fire mono-type team before, and it worked pretty smoothly for me; it did have its ups and downs, but it wasn't that difficult to utilize. =) As for second, I'd say dragon. Third would probably have to be water.

Anyway, this is sort of a broad topic, so it'd fit better in Pokémon Gaming Central; if you don't mind, I'm moving it there!

    Thread moved.

Psychic and fire are definitely my specialties.

If I were a gym leader, one of these two would certainly end up being the type I would utilize. I've always got at least one Psychic type or Fire type on my team - perhaps even more than one!

I know I had both a female and a male Meowstic in X&Y because I adored them both. And in Kanto I'd always end up with a Charmander and a Vulpix... or a Flareon. I just can't help it! They're such amazing types and the moves are gorgeous. <33

    Water is what I would consider my specialty. I love so many Water pokemon, so I've used most of them in competitive battling or in-game. They're extremely useful pokemon, usually boasting respectable bulk and strong offensive stats, a deadly combination in the current metagame. In fact, it's often the hardest spot for me to fill on my team because I like so many water types ;__;

Water-types are pretty much my main specialty, considering the fact it's my fave type. I'm also good at using pretty much any type except for maybe Rock (because they tend to be slow and that's not usually my playstyle) and Bug (they are usually a mixed bag, I'm better at using ones with a dual-typing more than mono Bug-types).

Dragon, definitely! I always try to use Dragon-type Pokemon on each of my playthroughs. I think it's because a lot of them tend to be hit-and-run attackers, which is the playstyle I lost best. :) I really wish we had more dragons though - I end up using the same ones over and over again, haha.

Probably Ghost and Psychic as my main specialties. I just love the cool shadowiness associated with Ghost type designs, and the creepy factor behind their dex entries/lore ie Chandelure, Jellicent, even Drifloon isn't as harmless as it looks.

Psychic types are known for their intelligence which is something I value. Pokemon like Meowstic and Xatu exude that clandestine vibe.

Normal types are my main specialty, they always seem to have the most variety with attacks, and majority of my favorite Pokemon are normal types

The other type I'm also getting good at are fighting types

Dragon and Fire, mainly. Dragon types are hard hitters, while Fire types are rather varied, with Pokemon like Arcanine being capable of either support, stall or sweeping. I've only ever used Garchomp as my main Dragon in game, and it did amazingly well in my team, giving me a love for most, if not all Dragon types, and Fire is my main type due to my favourite element being fire.

Apparently the closest thing I have to a specialty is Grass. At least I assume that's the case, since I see so many people moan on about how much Grass types suck, but that's not my experience. I use them often and effectively, so I can only presume that it's not that Grass types actually do suck, but that I know how to use them and other people don't.

Fire, and to a lesser degree, bug and dragon.

Fire because it tends to favor my two favorite stats, speed and special attack, dragon because it has some of my favorite and most useful pokemon, and bug because I'm one of the few people who'll give non-steel bugs a shot.

Fire for me as well, it's been a staple type of mine since I started playing Pokémon but there are other types I try to use on the majority of my teams as well, such as Flying and Dark and as a result I feel more comfortable using these types as they're more familiar to me :)

I guess flying-types and fighting-types. Both are typings that I have a lot of favourites in, and stem more from the fact that the two usually contain decent-to-great offensive capabilities. My first monotype run was with a flying team as well, so there is some reasoning in my choice. But honestly, the main reason why I like flying types is because of Gyarados and Staraptor, lol.

Psychic, Water and Fire! Psychic types are generally easy to use, and they usually have moves to cover most of their weaknesses, so it all goes well. :3 Water and Fire are also easy for me as well! I did a fire monotype run and everything went smoothly, and while not an official monotype - I had three water-types on my main team once, and they were fine as well.

For the first three generations, I always considered myself an amateur specialist in the Fire type department.

However, past Gen 4 my main type became that of the Dark Type, my specialty being the training of Sneasal, Absol and Mighteyena lines. In Gen 6 I've lately started developing a fondness for Ghost and Dragon types, though right now I'm trying to become a Trick Room specialist.

So for me, Dark Types are my major, Ghost types are a minor.
