[Sword & Shield] What TMs would you like to be removed?

Going to assume you're referring to Gen 7 TMs, unless you're purposely keeping it broad. Just to make sure :o

I'd remove:

- Hyper Beam. I genuinely don't know what would make good use of this, nowadays. Almost every Pokemon that can ever learn Hyper Beam has a better option than to leave themselves completely open for one turn. I don't think this is worth it very much.

- Smack Down. Never got the purpose of this beyond some niche rock move that's used in some very specific situations. Why ground flying types when you can just... use Stone Edge to faint them, instead? I've never really saw much of a point to this.

- Sludge Wave. Probably a move more for Doubles or Triples than singles, but I still don't see the overall benefit to this unless you have a mono-poison doubles team of some sort.

- Attract. Meh.

- Round/Echoed Voice. no

- Fling. no

- Quash/Snarl/Nature Power. no

idk Game Freak could've done a lot better with their TM choices in 7th gen cause some of them are... meh.

I agree with the above, bar maybe Sludge Wave (I guess it has use in Doubles - sadly Triples no longer exists!) and Hyper Beam maybe for the rare PorygonZ...?

Actually on reflection, Quash has some use for Murkrow in VGC/Doubles on that note, and Snarl gets use from a few Pokemon in VGC (drops special attack, hits both opponents - good for the team). That said I do not recall if some Pokemon can only learn from TM and not any other method that gets use with Snarl.

Others not mentioned - Roar I don't think I ever used but I suppose useful for spikes/etc teams? And Dream Eater too.

What moves would we want to see be added as a TM? I still miss the elemental punches from GSC, haha.

I remember I always wanted TM63 Embargo to be removed as a TM because I never found it useful or worth the moveslot on any pokemon (even though its a pain to face against an Embargo-user in Trainer Battles)

I think TM63 is better replaced with better moves.

i'm gonna agree on embargo. like? i don't get why you'd waste a slot for it honestly. it prevents item usage but it just seems too niche. i remember when it was new, i thought it might be good for E4 fights and such to keep people from using full restores but lmfao wouldn't you rather just...a better strategy altogether than that?

Quash, Confide, and Psych Up. Quash is useless 99.99% of the time, Confide is literally just Leer but for Special Defense, and Psych Up is really niche and hard to set up (although slightly more useful than Quash).

I guess Embargo does fall into a similar vein as Psych Up, but I do feel that it deserves the slot more so than the three above mentioned.

Honestly Protect doesn't need to be a TM. Just make it a move every Pokemon can learn since that's already pretty much the case, aha.

Quash should definitely be on that list. Considering it's so situational you'll never really find a good place for it UNLESS the intention is set up for it (like Imprison). Smack down is useful as a general rock type move considering Stone Edge's accuracy isn't too worth it without an item. Attract can be pretty annoying to deal with and it can help stall pokemon for time.
