Looking back on my "Your birthday determines your Monotype" thread, I was thinking that the types could have better correlation with their assigned dates. Dark, Ghost, and Psychic, for example, are all fitting for October because Halloween, Ground could be used in February because Groundhog's Day, etc.

Let's see if we can make a better type chart!

February could have fairy because valentines, all winter months are obviously ice. Summer months can have fire. Spring months grass. Steel could also be for winter. Steel is cold, winter is cold, my logic is flawless

It's a little difficult to base it on seasons since they differ between hemispheres, though Ice would still work for December since Christmas is associated with the North Pole. Of course, we could make separate charts for north and south.

THANK YOU! From the bottom of my Argentinian heart, thank you! If anything, December would be Ice and Fire here because it's so unbearably hot during the holiday season (and because most people do the traditional asado here, following it up with a cold dessert like ice cream.) Oh, and Electric, because storms have a nasty habit of raging around the holiday season. Disturb not the harmony of fire, ice and lightning...

November in the Southern Hemisphere could be Psychic as well, because it's usually final exam season across all educational levels (mostly for primary and secondary education, though a lot of college students sit finals around that time as well.) You gotta put your brain to work! The Northern equivalent would be May or June, if I'm not mistaken.

I'm going to answer this question based on my own area and experiences.

Bug: June – A lot of bugs seem to come out during June. Beetles called "June bugs" are a thing, dragonflies start flying everywhere, and everywhere you walk, you hear cicadas making a ton of noise.

Dark: August – Crimes tend to be high in August.

Dragon: June, July, August – Dragon-types are based on reptiles and reptiles tend to come out when it's very hot.

Electric: May – May seems to have the most thunderstorms by far.

Fairy: February – Valentine's Day and fairies seem to go hand-in-hand, at least to me.

Fire: June and July – Hottest months of the year, definitely. We had some major heat waves during the these months this year in my area.

Flying: September – Birds tend to migrate a lot during this time.

Ghost: October – Halloween, no question.

Grass: March and September – Springtime arrives, the grass gets greener, the leaves on the deciduous trees return, and flowers bloom. In September, the leaves fall from the trees and the environment is often covered in leaves.

Ground: August – Earthquake activity seems to occur the most in August.

Ice: December, January, February – Arguably the coldest months of the year in many places.

Normal: August – The only month (at least in my area) with no major holidays, which sounds pretty normal to me. I can't really speak for other locations and cultures though.

Poison: November – It is said that pollution is at its peak in November.

Water: April and May – It rains a lot in April and May, at least in my area.

I couldn't really think of anything for the following types:

    Fighting
    Psychic
    Rock
    Steel

Speaks as someone from the United States midwest region. Paired months to only one type.

    • January: Ice. Views this as the heart of winter.
    • February: Fairy. Associates February with Valentine's Day.
    • March: Ground. Warms up around now. Melts all the snow. Turns the ground muddy.
    • April: Flying. Sees birds returning.
    • May: Grass. Begins to stay green. (Expects a random snowstorm every April.) Deals with some mild allergies around now.
    • June: Bug. Hears cicadas and such around this time.
    • July: Fire. Reaches the highest average temperatures in this month.
    • August: Electric. Sees fireflies in the summer months. Sticks around until the end of August, supposedly.
    • September: Water. Checked the averages. Receives the most precipitation in this month.
    • October: Ghost. For Halloween.
    • November: Poison. Circulates a lot of illnesses around this month (and the next).
    • December: Dark. For the darkest day of the year.

    Unused types:
    • Fighting: Good for most Spring and Fall months. Begins sports around those times. Mentions March Madness (the college basketball tournament) as a good time.
    • Steel: June or July. Freed children from the school calendar. Schedules trips to various places by automobile or airplane. Happens in November through January to escape the cold too.
    • Normal: Maybe April? Thinks of nothing major in that month (actually, April Fools' Day). Falls far from the start or end of school. Notes some large temperature swings in that time, though.
    • Psychic: Maybe May. Liked the exam angle brought up by Mintaka☆. Identifies no clear month, however. Finished up exams in college in April. Took them in June in high school.
    • Rock: April or October? Looked up good rock-climbing months. Said early Spring/late Fall. Seems cold for that. Varies by day, admittedly.
    • Dragon: No good ideas for this. Celebrates a lot of old traditions in December. Views dragons as ancient creatures, usually. Perhaps that, then.

For me, with no real reasoning attached to most of them other than me thinking they fit:

    January - Steel
    February - Fairy
    March - Fire
    April - Grass
    May - Water
    June - Dragon
    July - Rock
    August - Normal
    September - Ground
    October - Ghost
    November - Dark
    December - Ice

Some of the types seem like they'd fit multiple months, but this is my personal list!
