Caught this on TV earlier today. It was good! I actually liked it better than the first one.

  • Bird Box. I liked it a lot.

Horror is usually a genre better for books than screen as I think it's better to leave horror to your own imagination. Bird Box manages to do this as a movie.

  • We went to see Fighting with My Family last night.

It was not exactly the true story it bills itself as in the opening scene, rather a fantasy very loosely based on WWE wrestler Paige's life.

With that said though, it was... surprisingly good! Even if you don't like wrestling it is worth seeing.

Yesterday I watched Twister and Moana again. My first twin bill in quite some time.

  • A 1965 classic Doctor Zhivago. It is truly a beautiful film in every way, the photography, score, costumes, the story and characters, such a great, great cast of actors. I can't decide which role and performance is the most thrilling, but I am leaning to Tom Courtenay as Pasha. If this picture is not 5 stars then I don't know what is.

  • Lego Movie 2. I didn't think it was quite as good as the original, but it still made me very happy!! Would recommend.

    Christopher Robin

I thought this movie was very cute. It's not really what I expected it to be, but I still adored it very much. <3
    I loved this onnnee

  • Captain Marvel.

I went into the cinema with low expectations as I had a sneaking suspicion it would be a let down.

I was wrong. I came out of the cinema wondering what time / day I am able to go back and see it again.

The story was excellent, the special effects were subtle and well incorporated and the humour was perfect. It wasn't a good superhero movie, it was a good movie.

  • WarGames (1983) - 7.9/10

Matthew Broderick, AI gone mad and, well, the 80's! How excellent!

    Highlander (1986) - 5.6/10

If you'll forgive anything in a movie and don't cringe easily, you'll probably like this. It's a mess better suited to nostalgia nerds with specialised tastes, but for a casual watch with low, low, low expectations, go right ahead! You might like it!

...in hindsight, at least. A couple of years from now. Like, what even is this?!!! It's simultaneously horrific and epic.

    Tron (1982) - 7/10

Whacked out and cool. A firework of 80's effects, and Jeff Bridges is rad.

  • House of Mirth.

Very hypnotic, it is full of Intimate whispers in a turn of the century parlor by candle light, haunting music, people who are in love but just won't come out and express their feelings in this highly mannered era. Every frame looks like a painting-- you can see every feather in a hat and pearl sewn into the bodice of a gown. While its a lovely film, it also gets increasingly difficult to watch. It is one of the saddest movies I have ever seen actually. Edith Wharton is not giving us our Jane Austen happy endings and fairytale princes for sure. Its very good, but I am reaching for the tissues-- and a copy of the original novel to read for myself now! I really want to get into the head of that Lawrence Selden.

Good taste! Matthew Broderick was such a dreamboat in the 80s

I'm watching Ratatouille as I type this, and last night I was watching Back to the Future (which is one of my all time favorite movies)!

It's a cool movie, isn't it? Weirdly enough, he bears a striking resemblance to Anne Hathaway in it. And yeah, he's adorable. Looks like a geeky mouse.

And 100,000,000+ points for Ratatouille and Back to the Future! Grew up with the former, watched the latter in January last year. A riot, both of them. I've actually modelled myself after Biff Tanner, you know. Behaviour wise.

Went to see Captain Marvel last night! I liked it, but something about Vers' character was a little off to me? I don't know if it was just parts of Brie's performance, but sometimes she just seemed a little cringe to me.

The Age of Adaline, which is a superb movie indeed. It makes me tear up every single time I watch it. It's among my favourites and it's something that I could watch endlessly, it'll never get old.

What was the last movie you watched?

I also feel like I can connect with Adaline herself. I do consider myself an old soul and, well, my name is Adelina, which helps.
