So far we've seen 3 different game styles in the main series games:

    1. Traditional Style
You encounter random Pokemon in the grass, battle them in a turn by turn basis and try to capture them still in this turn by turn basis.
Overworld encounters trigger the battle format above

    2. Let's Go Style
You only have overworld encounters and all you can do is throw Pokeballs / use Berries (a la the Safari Zone of the olden days)

    3. Legends Style
You only have overworld encounters , and they can directly harm you in a real time fashion in the overworld.
You can capture Pokemon without leaving the overworld, but you can also force the traditional turn based scene.

And while we haven't seen it before, a natural conclusion would be to have a style similar to gym battles in Pokémon Go:

    4. Real Time (Pokemon Go) style
You only have overworld encounters and all combat, capture, etc. is done in real time.

Which is your favorite? Would you like future games to keep to the traditional style or use any one of those in particular?
Is there anyone you wouldn't like to see in the future?

I wouldn't mind them mixing it up.

For example, the Zelda franchise went 3D but still goes back and makes top down titles. I don't see why other franchises can't do the same.

That said, right now I prefer traditional but I think Legends could add onto the formula and become something I enjoy more.

Speaks with little exposure outside of the traditional style. Only caught Pokemon in Go. Experienced nothing else in the other options. Prefers the traditional style, at present. Enables time to think your strategy through. Appreciates Pokemon for its planning aspect.

Might like a specific section of the game like Legends: Arceus (such as a Safari Zone or Wild Area). Imagines dodging Pokemon attacks to be like dodging Sharpedos on the Isle of Armor: annoying. Views it as an improvement over the traditional Safari Zone.

Hopes to not see Let's Go and Go, at least for catching. Bonds with Pokemon across trainers and wild Pokemon. Chips away at that.

Honestly SWSH have let's go mechanic when you encounter a pokemon that popups than just random encountering also it's not like lets go series because you gotta battle. Random encounters all the time and no way avoiding it all the time without repel while SWSH you just run and avoid all the battles.

I think all of these styles are valid, but they have to be limited to their games tbh. For example, I wouldn't like Let's Go or Legends style in gen 9 games. The style in Swo/Shi was pretty good and they could continue to work on that.
Let's GO style belongs just to Let's GO games. I wouldn't like to see it in other mainline titles. And also Legends style, it's amazing but that's the peculiar part of a game that is set in the past, when things were different. I am enjoying this style a lot, but it works in a game like Legends, not in other games tho. So, my opinion is that every style is good as long as they belong to their game.

I'm not a fan of the Let's Go style and I don't really play Go so idk what it's even like....
    so Traditional or Legends Style.

Honestly if every game were to go Legends style I'd probably not like it. Atm I like it, but it's still pretty new and I doubt I'd like to see it forced into mainline games.
So for Legends games Legends Style, Traditional for mainline games. SwSh had a pretty solid style.

Honestly, at this point it is hard to move away from Legends style. The battles are fast-paced and Pokémon harming you during battle is fairly realistic since they aren't all friendly enough creatures by default. Having an option to force or not force an encounter is fun and gives me more options with how I want to play the game. I really enjoyed having freedom with my battles, and not struggling to put on Repels when I didn't want encounters since I could easily avoid things if needed.

I understand if not everything from Legends makes it over since it is a game set in the past where people are more cautious of Pokémon and have to resort to methods that are no longer popular in the modern time, but I would like at least the faster battles to make it over. Running around during battles is fun and having no unnecessary pauses during things (like picking up an item doesn't stop you from playing briefly as the text box comes up like it does in other games) has been really great.

Pokémon battles must be turn-based, that's not negotiable for me. I don't mind if they mix some elements from the overworld Legends Arceus gameplay and some more real time interaction with the wild Pokémon, as long as the traditional battling and catching mechanics are still present. Go and Let's Go style are a big no for that and other reasons.
