But I already have them on Steam, silly, lol. You can't redeem a game for a second time :P

I am so confused haha, you said you have a bunch of unredeemed keys but they are sitting in your Steam library? Wouldn't that mean they were redeemed?

Haha, no, no. They're in my Humble Bundle library, sitting there unredeemed. And they're all spare keys for games I already have. c:

Or they're packs/DLC for games that I'll never touch, anyway. EVE Online, Warframe, etc.

I actually enjoyed New Vegas more than Fallout 3. I felt like there was much more to do. There's only a small number of actual quests in Fallout 3.

New Vegas is far better than 3. 3 was nice, but New Vegas felt more alive. I just can't wait until the next one when they include the ambient encounters cause those were superb in Skyrim.

I generally hear that people hated New Vegas compared to 3. I've never finished a Fallout game, but I own New Vegas (well, at least that's the most modern one I have). Due to the primitiveness of the engine compared to newer Bethesda stuff I can't get into the game, however.

That's understandable.

I've noticed that both Critical and fan reception of Fallout 3 was generally more positive then that of New Vegas. I'm probably going to get Fallout 3 first. I have a friend who's really into the series and he says that he liked 3 a lot more then New Vegas.

I'm probably going to wait for the game to go on sale and buy it on steam sometime.

Nintendo Direct coming tomorrow for all who don't know! New Nintendo 3DS definitely coming, pre-orders are up in Italy and all kind of stuff being heard about it. Something tells me we're gonna see an Apple type move from Nintendo and it gets released next week. Other then that what are you guys most excited for?

Fallout 3 felt more complete though. In New Vegas there were way too many locations which you could go to that wouldn't have anything worthwhile looting from. It was more like the developers said "alright, let's just make this a location and be done with it." It was very frustrating in that game to explore/find a new region and then there were just empty tin cans everywhere.

I will say this though: end game - i.e last level - of New Vegas is better than Fallout 3. New Vegas had a lot of potential with its storyline, but I think they missed the mark when it came to all of the sub areas.

^ I hated all the empty buildings and useless locations. Less skill books to look for, the bobbleheads were completely removed and replaced with 6 snowglobes that you find in the big cities you're bound to travel to, anyway..

There was this massive map, and everything was smashed in the center in and around Vegas. I get that it's the name and all, but why does the Mojave have to be so BORING to walk through?? The first few hours of the game made me seriously pause and reconsider what I was doing with my life before restarting it. I have a save file at level 11 now that I turn to as my 'restart.'

At least Fallout 3 had some worthwhile places to hit while you were walking the span of Virginia and Maryland.

End-game, I still preferred Fallout 3's -- but for DLC, I've mostly preferred New Vegas', if that counts for anything, lol.

Tbh I've only played New Vegas, but I liked the Mojave. Admittedly it could've used some more areas to explore, particularly around the edges of the map, but there was just enough stuff for me. I liked the slightly goofy but still somewhat harsh world they made.

But I fucking hate Cazadores.

Which was even better with the Wild Wasteland trait! And, admittedly, the boosted level cap, perks every other level, reintroducing traits, and adding Hardcore mode at least made NV more challenging than 3.

And that was my other main complaint, lol. Deathclaws got roid rage and then they added those fuckers.. buh.

Deathclaws in F3 were never nearly that difficult to fight. On my first playthrough, one spawned behind me while I was sniping something, and at level 4 my reaction to my health bar was, "What's poking me?"
It didn't do anything. They weren't frightening to come across. Meanwhile in NV I ran in the opposite direction actively avoided them.

Seriously though, Deathclaws were completely OP in New Vegas. That stretch in the train tracks in New Vegas? Completely impossible to navigate through. I don't even remember if there was anything worthwhile in there - there should have been either way considering you needed to go super saiyan to survive there even if your skills were almost maxed out.

Can't play New Vegas without the Wild Wasteland trait =)

But were Deathclaws really that non-threatening in 3 lol? They are kinda tough in New Vegas, but they are kinda rare and at least they won't attack you if you keep your distance. But Cazadores.....I swear that sometimes they're placed in inconvenient locations and it's like they're out to get you. Doesn't help that they're fast and hard to hit and hit you hard and are giant bugs and somehow can just barely live a sniper shot to the head =(

I know! It makes it so hard to pick your one other trait, lol.

Yes. Yes they were. So there's this abandoned town in 3 that's overrun with Deathclaws: Old Olney. There's at least 7 or 8 of them wandering most of the time, but it varies.
(There's a Deathclaw Sanctuary, too, but I don't remember how many were actually there.)

We arrived by accident and Dogmeat (best companion) just cleared out the place and came back to me at half health. I couldn't keep up with him. Got a bunch of free claws for my Deathclaw gauntlet, though.

Now granted, in 3 there were really no other variations of them. They were just deathclaws, and the Enclave's deathclaws that they controlled, but there wasn't much of a difference between them stat-wise. But on the other hand, companions' deaths are permanent in 3, so my dog just wrecked everything in one fell swoop. Although he also ate landmines..

I did actually clear out that area once. When I was gathering eggs for Red Lucy and it was time to get Deathclaw eggs, and I was all like "YEAH LET'S GO TO QUARRY JUNCTION AND DO IT BRING IT BITCHES" (which sounds like a terrible idea) instead of going to that one cave where it's a little easier.

It took a while, and I died a couple of times in the process, but I killed them all. I think what helped was that I sat on this one crane piece thing that they couldn't figure out how to get up on and I sniped 2/3 of them with my Anti-Material Rifle.

lmao dog wrecks Deathclaw army

I didnt feel that deathclaws were op in vegas. The game itself has a higher level cap, so it stands to reason that what should be one of the toughest enemies in the game would be a bit more difficult.

New vegas did have a weaker story, but i really felt like new vegas was better gameplay wise. I did love the dlc tho, especially all the setup for ulesses and all the old world blues stuff.

New Vegas had top-notch DLC. 3 had to retcon the ending and make it so the Lone Wanderer lived in Broken Steel cause everyone complained about it. Not saying the DLC was terrible though (Point Lookout, The Pit, etc), but New Vegas had a plan and a pretty dang good story mixed in with some of its DLC, plus on a personal level, I love Zion Nat'l Park, so going there in Honest Hearts was superb, even if the DLC itself wasn't the greatest thing ever.

I will correct myself and say that 3 DID have some good packs though. The spaceship was neat, and I mentioned the other two I enjoyed a lot. Anchorage was also fun. I just felt like NV's had a better set plan, bar Dead Money.
