    Hey guys! As some of you may know, I run a few different events in Video Games centered around maximizing fun interactions with one another. Year of Gaming is a weekly series that I publish where people combat in generally flash or mobile games for a top score to ultimately win a prize in the form of an emblem. Video Game Poll of the Week is exactly what it sounds like: a poll about different video game aspects such as favorite video game in a series, best over world level, best video game swordsman, etc etc.

    As of now, I've published roughly 23 (?) Year of Gaming events and 16 Video Game Poll of the Weeks. As you may imagine, usually being a one man team with this, I'm having some difficulties coming up with ideas for these kind of events. So, I was wondering if I could by chance have some help from the VIP Forum! I would love to hear about some of your ideas about which games I can use for all of us to play and what kind of polls you would like to see in the upcoming weeks. All I ask is that if you are suggesting a YOG game that you provide a links the flash game if it's online - and if its a mobile game make sure it's free, I can't stress that enough - and if it's a VGPOTWS that you provide the question as well as all of the options that people can select.

    And seriously, any idea is a great idea in my books! I will absolutely make sure to give you credit if I do choose your idea, as well as most likely throw out an emblem as an added bonus just because I love y'all so much. But seriously, cuteness aside, I am thankful for any and all ideas that are submitted - with each week it gets tougher and tougher to find new ideas so being creative is key here!

    P.S If anyone can find an online flash version of that Lickitung mini game from Pokemon Snap for me to use for YOG I will literally give you my moderator position out of sheer happiness.

    I don't know about no polls, but there are a couple of game suggestions I have.

    I'm unsure if this had happened before (if it has, would it be worth giving the idea another spin?), but for Video Game Poll of the Week, at some point in future, how would it be if there were a topic regarding cars from Need for Speed series? I'm positive many of us have tried this video game in the past (at least once), so hopefully, there isn't going to be much slowness when it comes to sharing input.

    The selection of poll options could range from car models such as BMW M3 GTR, Carrera GT, Lamborghini Gallardo, Murcielago, and Ford GT (these are few of the most popular from Most Wanted; there are a lot more out there), with last choice being "other" for those that don't make it onto the list?

    I second this idea for the Video Game Poll of the Week. Course I think it would be good to have one car from each game and the "other" for all of the other cars.
     
    I like the NFS cars idea but on the other hand, some may complain that their favorites didn't make it to the cut =D
     
    I was thinking about how a Year of Gaming could be a Portal/2 "Challenge" mode where you complete certain maps in the shortest time (such a mode is already in both games), but then there would be the problem of the games costing money. (Also, people might try and cheat :()

    Probably not very viable because the games cost money, but it would be a fun competition if it were viable.

    Well I did Super Smash awhile back so I wouldn't rule that out just yet! Maybe we can find an online equivalent to Portal, considering I'm sure there are a lot of clone-esque games of that out there.
     
    I have an idea if that is alright. Why not a Team Fortress 2 mini-tourney? Three maps, Dustbowl, Upward, and Mountain Lab (as the tie breaker), best out of 3 matches per map? And TF2 is a Free-To-Play and if someone wanted Premium Status, its $0.99 to get it and its for life.

    Its just an idea, you don't need Premium to play on a server or anything.

    This is actually a pretty good idea! If you want, we could actually do that separate of the Year of Gaming as this could be run as really its own event! If you personally want to run something like this, PM me the specifics and whatnot and we can sticky it when the event comes to fruition, or I can talk about it with the other VG mod's and we can create the thread around how you would like to see it - your choice!

    For year of gaming I have two suggestions (for now)

    1. I think it is called Cube, it's a mobile game where you have to navigate a cube through a 3-D environment square by square without falling off the edges of the terrain. I believe the game is either free of very cheap - it's been around for years.

    2. This game is a good one to try as well and it also has two sequels

    I think a poll about preferred Final Fantasy games or protagonists could be a good one.
    Or perhaps a poll for Smash Bros. characters?

    I like the game! I can definitely use that in the near future.

    As for the video game poll(s) mentioned, should I list all of the Final Fantasy games? Because I think there are a lot of them last time I checked. And would you like the Smash Bros. Characters to be tied to a specific game or what?

    How many are there now? 15 or so?
    How many spots can a poll have? If it's too many I'd actually just start at the fourth or fifth and include an "other" spot since I don't think many people (myself included) have ever even laid eyes on the first few.

    There's a lot of characters who are mainstays in the franchise. So really you could do it across them all or you could focus on a specific game, perhaps the most recent one? I don't know I'm just on a bit of Smash Bros. kick haha
     
    Maybe putting the top 6 or 7 since there's actually side games that are more popular than the numbered games. And then you could throw in an "other" option on the poll. 15 isn't out quite yet so the poll would only be 14 spots if you wanted to just do the main numbered games. But like gimmepie said , not many people have touched I or II.
