You have played Pokémon too much when...

You've played too much Pokemon when you use Pokemon names to help memorizing new words.

Guilty as charged when I associated "shiro" (Japanese for "white") with Reshiram when my classmates back in high school rolled with Shinchan's dog instead, by the way.

--You even know Pokemon names in languages besides English or Japanese.
--The principal considers your stash of toy Poke Balls concealed weapons.
--You were first in line at the theater to see Detective Pikachu
--Your teacher recognizes your "I'm-daydreaming-about-Pokemon" face

You have played too much Pokémon when you are a policeman and, as you spot and approach a group of people in the street in the middle of the night, and you see then that they are playing Pokémon Go, you start playing it whith them! (yes, I heard that truly happened)

You've played too much Pokemon when you start trying to catch all living beings near you.

You've played too much Pokemon when you spend a week of IRL time shiny hunting an Eevee outbreak just so you can finally say you've got them all... (how did I manage to get a Moon Ball Umbreon before ReKoil!? XD)

You have played too much Pokemon when you stand around for hours at a picnic expecting your Foxes dogs to give you an egg.

--You have tried to attach energy to playing cards (and then subsequently wondered what the Ace of spades' energy requirements are)
--People stop you on the street asking for help with their Pokemon games
--You have so much Poke-merchandise, Nintendo World orders from you
--You assign songs from the games or the show to every phone number in your contact list (eg. the Pokemon Center theme to the doctor's office, Prof. Oak's theme to the school phone number, etc.)

You've played too much Pokemon when the only things you eat are sandwiches and curries!

--Of your family trip to New York, all you remember is blowing $200+ dollars on Pokemon stuff at Nintendo World
--You catch yourself singing the RBY cave music in a cave or tunnel (guilty)
--You teach yourself Japanese for the sole purpose of watching the Japanese episodes before the dub.

You've played too much Pokemon when you take your hamster for a walk to try to evolve it!

You've played too much Pokemon when you order a PokeBall replica and then actually try to catch an animal with it.

--You celebrate the voice actors' birthdays
--You start to think about...anything. But it always turns into a Pokemon thought.
--You have an impressive record with the playable Pokemon in Super Smash Bros

--You wonder why dog shows and cat shows don't feature appeal competitions
--You imagine what different sports (besides golf and baseball) might look like with Pokemon in them.
--You bring your preferred Pikachu doll to a nice restaurant--just in case you get challenged to a battle.
--You have gotten the "aren't we a little old for Pokemon?" talk on at least one occasion.
