I enjoyed it. It was definitely just a popularity contest, so I guess some people put too much stock in it. It's rather silly but it was fun.

People will complain about anything nowadays. Why not just have some fun - yeah it's a popularity contest but guess what, life is full of them and you can't go your whole life ignoring them. We have a friggin' User Appreciation Thread which literally has the same five people being brought up most of the time, yet no one complains about that. Same idea, just slightly different structure.

If you don't win, who cares, its just for fun, shits, and gags. People need to lighten up.

It was not. I saw it. Its miserable, worthless existence was extinguished because people stopped giving a shit about it. Let the vacuum that took its place remain there.
Sorry if I wouldn't like seeing something that does absolutely nothing positive and only contributed to ego and clique boosts make a return. If I want fun, I'll go watch South Park, not filling meaningless lists on an internet site that will only be used to measure electronic penises.

I can. And loads of others too.
Huge difference between actually having a reason to praise someone (you actually have to think, and would be for a reason meaningful to yourself) and checking a list of "best xyz: name" as a competition and having your friends spam votes for you. Also, how many people know that that thread exists? And those that do mostly drop their post and ciao bella, let's go on with daily life.

idgaf if I sound too salty, such abominations should have been nuked out of existence instead of just dying out

Nah, I don't miss moty, popularity contests are really dubious, honestly? u_u That's just me.
 
I think they were fun even though they felt a bit clique-y. I always preferred the unusual categories over things like 'Best Member' so maybe something with just those could work well.

I don't need a contest to tell me I'm cool and smart and beautiful
