Your shining PC moment

Honestly I can't say I've had a moment to really shine in my ten years here. It's kind of depressing really, since I do care about PC quite a lot. I dunno; maybe someone else might disagree, but since I seldom ever get much interaction or recognition for what I do; if anything I can't say I've ever really shined yet.

But if anyone wants to respectfully disagree with this self-assessment; by all means please do.

I wanted to say one of my promotions but honestly, they all kinda pale in comparison to finally getting mewthree w/armor kicked off the admin list staff admins recognized on the same level as site admins, so I'm gonna go with that. No but seriously I still get prickly just thinking about that guy. Never in my entire time on the internet have I met someone so disagreeable that was literally impossible to reason with. ~_~ It wasn't totally my doing but the amount of work we staff admins put in at the time to get recognized for doing more work for the forums than the site admins was pretty huge. It probably doesn't seem like a big deal now, especially to someone who didn't know the staff structure really well back then, but nixing the site admins and putting all the admins in one group was such a big deal. PC would be a very different place right now if site admins still (existed and) had the power to veto every single decision of the rest of the staff.

I remember I was sooo happy when I got my first Emblem. They are some kinds of achievement, right? I felt like I finally did something important in this site :D

Can't think of anything else. I was once battle server voice, so that counts, was proud of myself.
 
I honestly don't know. I'll be that loser and say "getting promoted to s-mod" for now.

That was like 2007 I think. Long time ago. But it was a surprise and it was awesome.

In case you younger members really want to know about Mewthree, I present to you the drama that came when the Site Admins were merged into Staff Admins.

Yeaaaaaah... I'm pretty sure a huge reason why I stayed friends with him was because he liked me and he'd leak. That is my anti-shining moment right there. Someone less lazy and better with words make that thread happen.

Yeah, the second thread was dragged to Announcements. Pretty sure you had originally posted it to the admin forum. :|

Not 100% sure about that original thread though. Andy's post sounds like it was public, just derailed to hell.

The first one was definitely public. I had my "trying very hard to be civil" face on that is clearly not there in the second thread. xD;

Getting my first emblem was something to be proud of.

I could also count the time I got voice on the battle server, but then the criteria changed and I was back in the bottom of the barrel, and have never been able to climb out of it since.

I would say getting promoted, but that's an obvious one. So, something that means a little bit more.

I've always just liked helping people, and whenever someone goes out of their way to thank me after I reviewed their fic just makes my day. I work hard on those reviews, and it feels amazing whenever someone is truly grateful. I should really get back into reviewing.

And wow, I'm glad I wasn't here for Mewthree.
 
one time after closing a new member's thread in oras, he actually pmed me asking for help, so i taught him a few things about where to look, threads that were important, etc, and even though i don't think he's that active, he still sounded like he really appreciated my help and thanked me a bunch of times. it felt amazing, and i hope the same thing happens much more in the future :] just love helping people around

BUT my actual favorite shining moment was when dave agreed to have matching profile pictures with me
