I made one of these forever ago, but I just recently came back after having been inactive from PC for a while, so there's probably a lot of new peeps here, so I'll give it a go again c:

Education: BS in Computer Engineering
Current job: software engineer for a local company
Interests: manga, video games, music of all kinds, shows and novels fantasy & sci-fi genre, programming

Random fun facts:

• I love cats, despite being horribly allergic to them.
  
• My favorite food is eel.
  
• I've been playing Pokemon since Gen 1 first came out in America (does that make me a Genwunner? :o)
  
• I'm a tea fanatic. I have about 15 different varieties of tea in my cupboard at any given time :P
  
• I have spent 3 months living in Japan as an exchange student. I'm semi-fluent in Japanese (i.e. I can hold conversations and can read books intended for 8th graders and lower). I'm registered to take JLPT-2 (Japanese Language Proficiency Test level 2) this coming December. Wish me luck!
  
• I play the violin, though not particularly good, despite having played since I was 14. My true love is the piano, and I hope to learn to play at some point in the near future.

Huge tea fanatic here as well but I've only ever really tried the usual green, black, and herb teas as well as maple tea more recently. We also purchase some nice fruit teas with vanilla flavoring when we go shopping but I've grown a little tired of some of them. What teas are your favorite and are there any you might recommend? c:

My favorite, which I would whole-heartedly recommend is oolong tea. It's got a bit of a strong flavor, but I personally find it delicious :3 I would also recommend white tea, chai tea, any kind of jasmine tea, and any kind of tea with mint flavoring to it. Do you shop at Teavanna? They have all of those, and they even let you try free samples :)

Haha, good question. I used stop by from time to time whenever I saw Linux being discussed. I'll come by more often :)

Constantly developing, and creating new software as well. Basically we build software for clients, keep it up to date, and fix amy bugs that they report to us. There's probably parallels to IT, but we mostly handle the coding and subsystems, while the IT people deal more with user experience.

Sopheria is the name of a flower in Tales of Graces. It's one of my favorite games, and I just really like the word :)

I got a taste for eel mostly from eating sushi. I also ate a lot of it while I was in Japan. It's delicious, imo :)

What's it like living in Japan after being there for 3 months? Did you make any mistakes that its citizens might take offense to it due to cultural differences?
