People expected a Z, but instead we are getting SM and it seems to be a new Gen (not completely certain). This leaves Zygarde's forms and Ash-Greninja in limbo. Do you think they'll be anime exclusives? Or could they perhaps appear in SM? What would their role be if so?

I wish we had more information but we just don't know now. I assume that in the next few weeks we will find out the answers to some very important questions such as: Is this a new region?, Is this generation 7?, Are the Zygarde formes anime exclusive?, etc. I'd really like to see them in the games but it is entirely possible they never will be.

I have a feeling that with 7th Gen all but confirmed, the Zygarde forms and Ash-Greninja seem likely to be anime-only. The fact that Sun & Moon is the apparent 7th Gen debut means we likely won't see either play a role, given new Pokemon for the new generation tend to be the focus.

Well there was a theory that Zygarde's Cell is powered up by sunlight, so it still could be part of the new games somehow. Ash-Greninja seems more like something that would be an anime exclusive.

From the looks of it, they're most likely gonna be anime-exclusives now.

Is this the first time that some new Pokemon they introduced are anime-exclusives? (And no, Venutoise does not count as one)

Obviously Ash-Greninja would remain anime-exclusive since the purpose of this form was to have Pokémon resemble their trainers (notice the black hair on the sides of Greninja's head), but the fact that we won't be seeing Zygarde forms is absurd, because the anime is suppose to be showcasing all of the new additions from current and upcoming games, so skipping straight to Gen 7 renders these forms pointless.

You can't just say something can't count just because you don't want it too lol. Thats now how life works

Well, Genesect had that mode-change thing that wasn't featured in the games, so I guess it's plausible that Ash-Greninja and Zygarde's forms will be anime-exclusive...but I really do doubt it, because with Zygarde in particular they're making a major thing out of it and, whilst it could just be anime filler like the Orange Islands were, it'd be pretty damn big filler if that was the case. I think Zygarde's forms, at least, will show up in the games, and maybe Ash-Greninja will become a Mega Greninja of sorts before the season's end which will then appear in the games.

Unless if Red core and Blue core are the mascots...that's a possibility. I think they'll include Zygarde somehow...maybe the regions are disrupted or something.

The anime may be taking the route that Battle Frontier did (introducing Bonsly, Munchlax and Mime Jr) and introduce the Zygrade forms as next gen Pokemon (or forms in this case).

Orange Islands variants (like the Crystal Onix) and others like Purple Kecleon...

For the Ash's Greninja, for me it's Anime only.

As for Zygarde, I think it might be Post-Game, no?

The thing is Perfect Zygarde not only show in the anime but even in the TCG and other games. The only place he's missing is a main Pokemon game, same with Ash-Greninja.

I believe they will tie in Zygrade in some way. Possibly in the main story, or maybe Zygrade emerges for some reason due to consequences of the actions of main Legendaries in the main story. Which can then be expanded onto being able to visit Kalos as a secondary region in the game.

They gave made too big a deal of Zygarde's forms to ignore them altogether in game but they may only be post-game. Then again Zygarde was just there in XY so it could go either way.

Ash-Greninja, whilst I have no interest of whether it reaches the games. It could show some sort of Bond evolution particularly if the anime ever shows Serena-Delphox or similar.

I feel that they are both just Anime exclusive. Zygard even lost it's potential movie center to Magearna and Volcanion so very little reason for me to think it'll have any major game presence now.

Poor Zy, it lost it's role in the movie, didn't get it's Z, and now it's forme might not even be canon...

I have a feeling Zygarde forms will be in the games, and possibly a nod to the "ash-greninja" evolution. I say "ash-greninja" in quotes because of a spin-off pokemon manga series where something similar to it was done, except the person merges with the pokemon.

Well , I think Ash-Greninja was just a excuse to give Shota a Mega Sceptile while destroying Ash possibility of having any Megevolve pokemon.
Question is : Will they try to create another Ash-something in Sun & Moon ? What's their problem in Ash megevolving his pokemon ? Why all the random people can get a Keystone but not Ash ?
