K. So hate me if you want for interjecting on this but I don't feel like I can be quiet and yeah I'm guessing this is just an add on to Luke's post in the CQ&F but seriously. >>; mini tl;dr time.
First and formost, PC's not a Capitalistic Society where the more shares you hold determines your power in the society itself. Didya know that there are staffies who haven't donated worth squat but have more power than you because they're moddies? Money means nothing. You're donating, you're being nice. You get a blog with a much higher character limit than most vb sites I've been to, you get a larger avatar, you get a larger pm box, you get access to a bunch of sites and you're still unhappy? Guys, do you not realize how much we're already getting that we by absolutely no means deserve just for turning in 10 dollars worth of real life cash?
As obscure as the reference is, this makes me think of Harry Potter and the Sorcerors Stone when Duddly throws a grand maul hissy fit because he gets less presents than last year. Ya'll are starting to act like this is something us supporters deserve because of how much freaking money we give out and you're acting like, because pc is so much like the real world with its srs business, that because you put in money you should be allowed to have say over what happens and what doesn't happen and... yeah. << I'm sure if you wanna stamp your foot and refuse to ever donate again, the 104 other people with 5 bucks to spare will easily cover the monthly server costs.
I'm just seeing it all over PC and it's REALLY starting to bother me. Supportor This, Supporter that. PERKS FOR SUPPORTERS HERE AND THERE AND EVERYWHERE. WHAT? WE CAN'T HAVE THESE PERKS? BUT WHY. D: WHY. WE DONATED OUR MONEY >:c YOU OWE US THESE THINGS BECAUSE WE DONATED 5 DOLLARS. FIVE WHOLE FREAKING DOLLARS.we could've spent that on McDonalds. ON MCDONALDS
It's like you're almost wanting to turn PC into a bloody caste system with the Staff on top, the Supporters just a little below [but they can minimod because they're supporters and they've BOUGHT THAT RIGHT] and then the members who don't have the means or desire to donate are at the bottom of the food chain with the scraps of food from the table. You've probably heard it but some of those people who have been around forever and haven't ever donated have perfectly legit excuses that make them absolutely no less of a person than you and yet you STILL claim some SUPERIORRACE STATUS to them.
Guys you're just discriminating for absolutely no reason.
I've said this before and I got laughed at but the only reason I donated was because we'd JUST gotten back from the NASTIEST database error I've ever seen on this site and I wanted to help out because I was too scared to do anything else [because I have a staff paranoia and view myself as an inferior moose but that's beside the point] I found out a blog came with it and I was like "Whoa cool this is much less easy to forget I have one of these :D" and it was kinda cool to have a name that never changed color but I honestly couldn't care less about this supporters elitist circle. Hell, I didn't know it existed until April of this year. Two of my CLOSEST friends here on PC haven't EVER donated and yet they're nicer [and always have been] than 3/4ths of the supporter rabble.
As melodramatic as it sounds, I'm starting to regret donating because I see these threads and I see the minimodding by high tier supporters and I cringe because I'm associated with the lot of you and honestly, I don't want to be. :/ If your name is not bold in any way shape or form, you have absolutely no business talking to people about things that you're not involved in.
I'm SICK of seeing supporters trash CQ&F threads. YOU WERE STUPID ONCE TOO AND THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH ASKING QUESTIONS. When you just slam on a n00b and call them pathetic and stupid and omg can't you just read the damn faq, all you're doing is further wrenching that stake in your cold little heart that you're above the general population. It's been said by staff, supporters and members alike. JUST BECAUSE YOUR NAME IS SLANTED DOESN'T MEAN YOU'RE BETTER THAN A REGULAR MEMBER AND IT DOESN'T GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO PUT PEOPLE DOWN BECAUSE IT MAKES YOU FEEL COOL AND SUPERIOR.
The ONLY two tiers on PC are Staff and Members. Period.
If you answer the call to serve PC and you donate some of your money, you're doing a service to the community you call home. It doesn't give you a right to start deciding what color they paint the walls or how the staff does their work. A good lot of you who complain about the staff don't realize how stressful it can be to have to be the authority figure and deal with a bunch of people day in and day out who never seem to learn anything, no matter how many times you beat it into their tiny little skulls. I, for one, don't find myself as a regular member having stress on this site that can even remotely compare to the conversations I read [because I stalk people] with a staff member telling one member over and over and over and over and over again that you really can't bypass the character limit no matter how cute you think you are. Yeah there's drama, whoopty freaking do. You're not the one who has to look down at your friends and decide whether or not they broke rules in the drama fest and whether or not as a staff member you need to infract them for it now do you? Jee, seems like that's a whole nother level of stress now doesn't it.
Quit talking like you're something you're not and quit wasting people's time.
I know this doesn't apply to all of you and I'm not saying there aren't people who are innocent in this but for the most part, the community face of the supporters group is a clique of elitists who think they're absolutely better than absolutely everybody else on the entire freaking earth and that they deserve to have the same rights and privileges as staff. You make us look bad, you make yourselves look like fools. If you hate me for this, go right ahead and bark at me. I'm to the point where I'm not even going to bother pretending that I'm okay with this anymore because I'm not. >:c cut it out before I get fierce. -er.
