    E&M Olympics!​
    ​

    We are holding an Olympic celebration and we want you to join in!

    You can take part in a series of Entertainment, Media & Olympic themed events that will put even the best PCathlete to the test!

    There will be 5 standalone events, as well as 2 competitions that span the entire event! The standalone events will be revealed roughly every two days and none are alike! All are themed to this section in some way.

    Standalone events will run for two days throughout the PC Olympics. For users who join halfway through, you will have until the end of the current event to hand-in any answers for previous events (example: joining in during Event 3 means you can participate in Events 1 and 2, but have to hand the answers in the same time as Event 3).

    On top of that we will be running a competition for most posts in this section during the event. New threads will be worth several posts. Threads and posts must be within the spirit of the section rules and any deemed to be spam will lead to disqualification from the games! We will also be running a last.fm leaderboard competition on the PC Discord server!

    The E&M Olympics sign up form is below, simply fill it in and reply to this thread! If you are taking part in the last.fm leaderboard event, please make sure to also enter your Discord details.

    E&M Olympics Parade of Nations!

    Every PC Olympian has been assigned a flag bearer at random to cheer them on throughout the competition! All flag bearers will take part in the parade of nations right here! (We can also supply a small signature badge code if that is desired!)

    The nations taking part in our games aren't necessarily the same as in Tokyo, we like to mix it up a bit!

    Join in the fun, celebrate and wave your flags!

    Long Events

    These events will run throughout the duration of the Olympics, some scoring points throughout and some scoring points at the end.

    Event 1 - last.fm Leaderboard

    Same as the Get-Together, there isn't in particular you NEED to do with this one, however to sign up for this event (everything else you just need to post in this thread for), you will need to sign up to the Chuu bot on our PokéCommunity Discord Server. When you do, make sure to post your Discord username in your sign-up post here, so that I can check your stats at the end. Medals will be won across a muiltitude of categories, so there's lots to play for here!

    Event 2 - Posting Competition

    The second long event involves no other than this section! The event in itself is simple - posts and threads made by users in the Entertainment & Media section will earn you points throughout the duration of the event, with winners earning points as they go. Posts are worth 5 points, whereas threads are worth 10! Of course, threads that seem a bit pointless/spammy will be removed, as well as posts! Users will need to make a post in this thread however, logging all of their posts/threads and a running total. The best way to do that is to copy the post or thread link (post links can be found by clicking here on your post first). Posts and threads not linked will not count.

    Short Events

    These events will run for two days throughout the PC Olympics. For users who join halfway through, you will have until the end of the current event to hand-in any answers for previous events (example: joining in during Event 3 means you can participate in Events 1 and 2, but have to hand the answers in the same time as Event 3).

    Event 1 - 06/08 to 08/08 - The Filmograph (Movies picture round)

    This event will feature 12 still images, all taken from scenes from iconic movies. Your task will simply be to identify the film they belong to!

    Event 2 - 09/08 to 10/08 - Book Beatdown (Books crossword round)

    In this round, participants will be expected to complete a crossword filled with clues about all sorts of literature references! Expect to find characters, settings, novels and much more!

    Event 3 - 11/08 to 12/08 - Olympia (Sports trivia round)

    We can't have our own Olympics without, ya know, something Olympics-themed! This is a sports trivia round, where ALL of the questions will relate to the Olympics in one way or another.

    Event 4 - 13/08 to 14/08 - TV Box-ing (TV anagram round)

    Hopefully something a little nicer - this is simply 12 anagrams picked out by us of TV shows (cartoons, documentaries, dramas, you name it!) and you simply have to unscramble them!

    Event 5 - 15/08 to 16/08 - Genre Escapade (Music clip round)

    Probably the toughest event of all. Participants will have 24 clips from songs in which they need to identify both who performs it and the track name. However there's a little twist... it seems transmissions messed up a bit here meaning the songs are a little scrambled!

    Olympians, it's time for the second test!

    In this round, your goal is to complete a challenging crossword! Every answer is related to literature in some way - characters, places, titles etc. You can either write your answers, or get creative and edit them in with an image editor, either is absolutely fine!

    Please send your answers to myself and Rabinov by Wed 11th Aug at 06:59 AM (UTC). We will accept your first submission only, so make sure you are happy before submitting your answers!

    For users who sign up during this event, you will also have until the end of this round to hand-in your answers for the previous event!
