I would probably prefer working in IT, but it appears my college only offers it at the campus on the other side of town :/ so for now I've decided computer science could do for me, except I'm not sure how I would do in my math courses.

I guess if Computer science wound up being too difficult for me I could always go out of my way to complete a degree in IT instead, which seems lesser on math.

If you find Computer Science difficult because of mathematics, you could always try Computer Engineering which is more focused on hardware. IT is a very vast topic.

Yeah, computer engineering science is what I was going into.. there was both either an AA in Computer Science Engineering or an AA in Computer Information Services, which I'm not quite sure what the difference is, but both areas seem to interest me.

I prefer working on the software part personally. I'm better in programming and an idiot in any forms of engineering.

Now you're actually confusing me... What on god's name is Computer Science Engineering and Computer Engineering Science? Do you mean Computer Science and Computer Engineering? Because those two are two fairly different disciplines.

And Information Science... is a different beast altogether.

Computer Science Engineering is what I meant, sorry for the confusion. It's listed as that in my college's academic advising guide.

I literally seem to confuse people all the time like that simply by not proofreading >_< and considering I just awoke from a nap after typing that post, I guess that didn't help at all.

Computer Science and Computer Engineering are two different disciplines.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_engineering

If you're leaning more towards hardware and physically designing computers and similar devices such as tablets, then you want Computer Engineering. If you're leaning towards programming using problem-solving methods, algorithms, and logic, then you want Computer Science.

If you're talking about studying both disciplines, then... it helps to know that there's no such unified phrase "Computer Science Engineering." Though to be fair this can get confusing at times.

I cannot wait until I am employed. I am so ready to start my life and have something to do everyday because I feel like I am ready. All I have to do now is finish up college and then I will be set :D

Working at a grocery is not such a bad job. If you stay with them long enough, they will promote you into a store manager, possibly. Where I work, I get paid fifteen dollars an hour. I could manage to spend my life with that kind of salary, but I most likely won't. My parents want me to finish college someday and get a job that earns me more money than that, and I really don't want to disappoint them. d:

Uh, okay?
Hey, at least you probably won't be one of the people who is constantly rushing from one thing to another. Relax, slow the flow, smell the roses.

speaking of jobs and employment and stuff, a couple of hours ago I had a phone interview for a department store that's going to opening next month, part of the new mall that's gonna open nearby the Mexican border. The recruiter said I was an awesome candidate and had a potential to get the job, but I have to go through ANOTHER interview to prove that. Ugh, can I just hear a "you're hired"? How is this so difficult? :(

Well, at least something good has come up for me. Can't wait for two weeks. *gulp*

That sucks. ;_; I'd never want to go through more than one interview for a single position. I have an interview Tuesday myself so hope that goes well, but it likely will since I got a call only two days after applying. I know I'm overqualified buuut just give me money until I find something better-paying that I'd enjoy.

I should probably look for an internship during junior year. My friend already has a job at my college as its web designer so I feel like a low-life already.

I've applied to like 4 employers already and I have yet to hear back from any of them.. is it because I've done the applications online instead of going to the places and asking for the application?

It's not that, unfortunately. You're doing everything right. Hiring managers tend to pull up their applications out of random and check them to see if they're an okay candidate for the job. For online applications, you are on the system and you will stay there for about 30-60 days depending on the store. So like...there's a good chance that you may get called up for an interview even if you applied for the job a month and a half ago. xD Also, following up on your application does not guarantee you an interview. So it's better to wait it out or apply to other jobs that might be hiring.

But I was also told that applying in person is a lot better than applying online, but the "paper applications" era is being replaced by the online applications, so you are more likely going to hear an answer like "OH SORRY APPLY ONLINE LOL"

I applied for this job (the one I got the phone interview from) a month ago and I forgot about it until now lmao.

(learned this from my dad, btw...and wow, that was long)

I currently don't have a job to personal reasons. :x I do want to become a writer someday, especially since I'm really good with written expression. The only thing holding me back is that I can't seem to finish anything I write. XD

You aren't alone. D:
I've been writing since I was a kid, and I don't think I've completed anything real since then (aside from reports and the like). I do have a decent concept in mind, but I doubt I'll be able to make it into something anytime soon.

That always is what happens haha. I make it a few pages in, then get bored. Once I learn how to properly write something creepy/demented, I'll go after that. {:
