  • As im sure many of you know that Brian Died on Family guy yesterday. Im not sure about the rest of you but I am sad and outraged that they have done this. Some of the best bits on FG was with Brian. I guess they needed to create buzz about the show which seemed to be lacking and why take out the one of the best characters right? -_-

Does anyone have a favorite Brian Moment?

  • I didn't even watch the new episode, but yeah I'm on the same boat as you are. Beyond mad at this. I loved Brian in FG. I thought he was a pretty awesome dog and companion to Stewie. Now I'm here and I'm trying to process these feelings. xD Brian will be missed so much.

I have so many moments to share, but my most favorite would be him and Stewie getting stuck in the parallel universe when humans are obedient to dogs (the Multiverse episode).

  • Wow, he died? Seriously? I agree though. Besides Stewie, Brian was probably the only one who actually had brains on the whole entire show. Though, I stopped watching this because of how carried away they get with so many things. Like, the fight with Peter and the Chicken or all of the vomiting. -_-

My favorite episode though was when Peter used him as his mustache. So, Brian farts and Peter goes, "Mustache fart". That was hysterical. XD

  • Brian was my third favourite character on the show, after Stewie first and Peter second, naturally, my favourite episodes always had Brian as one of the main characters. >:( I'm pretty annoyed they got rid of him, I suppose it would have become boring though if they just did the same kind of episodes over and over. It's still annoying though (understatement) I also hate they've tried to cheese us off with some other dog.

It was strange how at the same time this episode was shown, my cat had recently died after we had to put her to sleep, and the whole speech Peter gave about Brian being his best friend and all was actually pretty moving, considering I've known my cat literally my entire life, and she was kind of a sister to me. I can't deny that I could't help but cry a bit at the funeral

I must admit though, it has been fun tormenting my dad with spoilers, and the battle with him wanting to know and wanting to be surprised. :)

I haven't watched the episode yet.
Is this permanent? Are they never bringing him back??
He wasn't one of my favorite characters, but it wouldn't feel the same if he's not there. D:

  • Liberal douche? Sure, but he was also one of the few characters who was actually worth paying attention to by the end of it.

I haven't watched family guy in ages, it has significantly declined in quality after all and without one of the few truly interesting characters there seems to be even less reason to watch it.

Honestly, as quality declined in the show the only characters who really remained where they had always been in my books were Stewie, Brian and Quagmire (simply because his character is funny and hasn't regressed like others). With only two characters left worth watching the show for I don't see the point - of course we all have our own opinions.

  • I never get how he's still a favorite among the cast despite Quagmire's legit rant about him and the fact that he's dating human women rather than female dogs (making me think Seth Mcfarlene is pro-beastiality). Regardless, seeing Brian killed off would make the show feel empty, even more so sense Cleveland left for his spin-off show. Though to be fair, Mcfarlene also stated he wanted Family Guy to end by fan demand, so maybe this was part of his plan.

  • I really doubt that Brian is gone forever. I really think they'll do something with Stewie's time machine later on in the season after this whole 'new dog' thing wears off. Brian is too important to the shows other aspects like merchandising.

Well, there are two upcoming episodes titled "Brian is a Bad Father" and "Brian the Closer", so maybe it's not permanent.

  • Hit my family pretty hard, haha. My parents loved him, my sister wasn't a fan.

Myself, I really liked Brian. At the beginning, I wasn't a big fan, and never really saw the appeal. As I grew to like Family Guy a lot more, I really enjoyed his character more. I guess I just matured and viewed him as an adult, versus viewing him as a kid.

  • Okay. To begin with: Brian is in future episode titles. Tbh--I was shocked that they did that, though. It was just to boost ratings. I love Brian, but I know main characters don't die forever. As Nerakil said, he's in future episode titles, which by the way, I knew. So there you go.

  • Pretty sure it's a two/three-part episode and I'm also pretty sure people didn't react the same way when Louis died so shame on you people. :( Anyway, Brian was alright, I guess, though I don't have a strong opinion of him. I wished I had seen the episode so I could know how Stewie reacted, and see Vinnie's character. XD

The only reason those were two parters was because they were the 100th episode special. Knowing Macfarlane, those two episode "Brain the Closer" and "Brian's a Bad Father" are just self contained plot episodes.

    It won't be a two-parter. This is next week's episode: http://familyguy.wikia.com/wiki/Into_Harmony's_Way

  • I just watched this episode today. Why did Brian have to die? Will Stewie's time machine ever get put together again? Will Brain avoid the car accident if Stewie manages to go back in time to the point before Brian's death? Does Vinnie have some secret evil intentions under that Italian accent of his? So many questions going on in my head now. Also since there're titles of future episodes with Brian's name, we could actually start to piece things together.

I hate this new dog oh god whyyyyy. I was never a big fan of Brian but why on earth did they replace him with this new one? I can understand them wanting to kill off a character and I don't mind it being Brian but I just wish they hadn't felt it necessary to add this new dog in.

  • The news of Brian being killed off was all I heard at school today lol. But yeah, I doubt that he'll be gone for good. It doesn't make sense to kill him off. I mean, if your going to kill someone off on Family Guy, why not Meg?

The producer(s) stated that killing Brian was less traumatic than killing off one of the kids.
