Thinking Skyrim was better than Morrowind was a huge mistake on my part.

Also, reading the last page made me laugh.

"Which is better: Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas?"

This question isn't a matter of opinion. There is clearly a right answer and a wrong answer.

It looks super fun and addictive

And I know it's on 3DS, but I'm sceptical of the mobile aspect

The mobile phone version has a lot of restrictions put on it to encourage pay-to-play type stuff, but I've heard the previous iteration on the 3DS (DS?) was more functionally appropriate for a handheld console, not a mobile game.

I may try out P&D on my 3DS when I have the chance to purchase it, since it's available on a proper game handheld rather than a mobile phone.

What is Puzzle & Dragons about? Hopefully not the literal meaning.

    Taken from its Wikipedia page:

"Puzzle & Dragons is at its core a match-three puzzle game, requiring players to move and match colored orbs arranged in a grid. The amount and type of matches determine which of the six monsters on the player's team attack the waves of enemy monsters and how much damage they do. An additional layer of challenge is the acquisition, selection, and improvement of a team of monsters from among thousands ranging from standard fantasy fare, to deities from several religions and mythologies and characters from popular entertainment franchises."

    Hm.

I've heard of P&D a lot in here, but I never bothered to look it up, either, lol. So thank you. That immediately reminded me of ReignMaker - it's a tower-defense and town building game, but primarily it's also a match-three.

I seriously love what they're doing with match-three games these days. If it's really gonna be on the 3DS, I may look into grabbing it, myself. Not like I could play the mobile version right now, anyway, my paperweight is laying dead inside my nightstand. :P

There are plenty of match-three puzzle games that i've liked playing (one of them is the Pokémon Game Month going on over at PGC right now), so if Puzzles and Dragons gets enough buzz that might be something for me to look into. They aren't something that I would always play but i've played different variants of them.

I recall years and years ago we had a few really cool puzzle games that came with our OS's ValueAdd package on XP. Those things were so much fun, but I don't remember them enough to find them anymore. Shame I guess.

I dunno, sometimes I'd do puzzle games on my phone. When I game it's really a sit-down thing for me, though. I play a game, finish it, it's an affair.

...So I just read a fantastic Kotaku article called "The People Who Only Play One Video Game", and...it's really a shame how many people don't actually read the articles they post on. They just read the title, (possibly) skim over it, and post in regards to the title alone.

The article is about the writer having gone to PAX Australia and quickly finding himself lost in this fascination that is niche gaming. Specifically, World of Tanks and League of Legends. This is where most of the posters seem to have stopped- basically the beginning of the article. It goes on to talk about the mindsets behind the marketing of the aforementioned games as well as Blizzard, and explores gaming as a service and gaming as a culture. It's quite the interesting look at sustainable games and community-developer communication, but...it also seems like a waste. Most of the posts in the comments section talk about (and possibly deride) esports and how they couldn't possibly see themselves playing only one game, despite the fact that they have little to do with what the article is trying to get across (and are really only used to segue into the larger topic). This could be said for any article, really. I mean, sure, there will be people who will read at least most of the article, but if I got a penny for every time a reader saw a topic and then went straight to the comments, I'd be a rich man.

It's because the majority of articles at Kotaku are sensationalist articles w/ click bait titles to tick gamers off. They're also anti-Gamergate, since one of its employees was involved in the Zoe Quinn scandal.

Wait, gamer-gate made its way over to this corner of the net as well? Never followed it closely, but I'll be damned if I ever wanted to. Such an awful mess over a woman's words and video games.

But considering the content, they could have easily created a more compelling title. Heck, that could be said about a lot of they're articles. It was merely a segue into an interesting section of gaming culture (or, if you take it differently, a culture that has evolved from gaming).

They're also anti-Gamergate, since one of its employees was involved in the Zoe Quinn scandal.
I'm not seeing how that's relevant to the previous bit, largely considering the former would be a con and I can't not see this as being the same. Being pro-Gamergate isn't exactly something to be proud of- or at least, it's not something you'd want to proclaim.

Anti-gamergate or not, Kotaku is shit.

So is any site that participated in the whole "Gamers Are Dead" debacle.
