Yeah the flavour text shouldn't really have any hints. These games should be about play not narrative. Other than that though, I agree with Kiyo's analysis of what roles are probably left in the game. It might not be 100% but it's probably fairly accurate.

That's not unusual behaviour for Zap. I'd be more surprised if he wrote a post like Kiyo's to start things off.

It's D1, so no one knows anything (especially in a game like this), so let's try to get some reads on.

Pecilia's sorta-kinda jumping on Zap's admittedly silly post. is probably the most striking thing to me so far. Kiyo's post, while impressive in its detail, doesn't really tell us anything that we don't already know, especially given the lack of flavour (heh!) in these vanilla phase posts, so it could be a clever ploy to quickly establish himself as a fake townie; if the same level of analysis was applied at D3, I'd be much more likely to town-read him. Zap's post was a bit silly, but I don't know enough about his play-style to determine if it's scummy or just how he plays. And Wiicked seemed a bit agressive in response to Pecilia's post, but he often plays quite aggressively - especially as town - so I suppose there's nothing new there.

If I had to choose now, I'd vote Pecilia, but want to hear other people talk before making a final decision.

Yeehah is normally used to in celebration, so saying that, followed by mentioning the death of an innocent, is very suspect. I haven't seen Zap as scum in any other game so I don't know if he'd take on a different posting style, people don't always type differently based on their role y'know. Despite that, he could in fact change his posting style as scum as well. It's not enough for me to consider voting him just yet. Also normally as scum, I tend not to try and start a bandwagon on someone because it's very well too risky.

We've yet to hear from a few other people, I've noticed that inactivity apart from voting (or not voting to remain silence) is a common scum trait. Can't scum read someone who doesn't put out anything to read, amirite?

To be honest, I'm usually at a loss when it comes to day one with no flavour hints. I think I'm one of those heavily-spoiled by all the great flavour writers we have here. I don't think I have anything of actual substance to share, though. That being said, I didn't put much into the "yeehah!" thing, simply because I know I'd do it to, if GP died. :)

I'm more concerned about Zap's second and third posts tbh. Basically says "Tell me who to vote so I don't have to make any opinions of my own that other people could use to read me." I don't think I've played a game with Zap yet, and idk how new he is, but his actions so far seem pretty anti-town.

I think Pecilia's reaction is understandable, given it's D1 and there's not much to go on. Wiicked's reaction to Pecilia is also understandable, as he was kinda clutching at straws by accusing Zap off the back of his first post. Neither of them were being particularly aggressive imo.

I believe one of the intentions of these vanilla games was to not have have hints, just a standard game with standard roles.

Since the whole "Vanilla" thing was more of a pun rather than an actual descriptor of the style and all the roles were given flavor names, I just went off the assumption it was a game that would give hints. It was worth a shot in case I found something. /shrug

I figure you're in the right for questioning the intentions behind Pecilia's rather skimpy and jumpy statement, but your action to put someone down for not having any real help to provide should not be placed in a post that provides no real help or analysis in itself.

Being preceded by two useless posts and a phase change that didn't provide shit even if it did have hints (as I hopefully speculated), I figure that's all I could really do. I'm not really into making short posts that provide nothing to the game unless I decide to make a joke, and it's better to lay out all your information on the table than inside your head, I figure.

A good rule of thumb when examining me is that if you're using the word "clever" anywhere near my name or actions you can assume the theory's wrong, because I am a piece of toast and can't fight my way out of a cardboard box.

Weirdness aside these particular posts kinda make me feel as if one of these folks may be scum, specifically gimmepie. Theory: assuming an inno!zap context, it might be advantageous for the mafia to defend his posts if the town decides to gang up on him or at a later date if/when he gets night killed or lynched. They can use this as leverage to appear innocent later, and I single out gimme because of this statement --

What a hollow, tripe sentence. "I agree with you but, like, not enough to put a vote down." It gives the impression of clarity and conversation while saying and meaning absolutely nothing. It feels scummy, especially when the "thoughts" referenced in gimme's post amount to:

Can you even classify these as "thoughts?" The only thing established here is that Pecilia's post was "striking" and that if Cat Dog was forced to make a last-minute rush vote, it would be on Pecilia. These aren't thoughts or an analysis, so saying that they are feels like gimme is simply trying to give an impression rather than a rebuttal.​

so I've played w Zap a few times now and he just. he just sounds sus all the time. and hes newer so im not really concerned w what hes up to rn. i think pecilia has also played w zap recently so i think they should know this by now? it's kind of like susing me for OMGUS, which people should really give up on doing lmao. so actually i'm gonna roll with [Lynch] Pecilia unless something else comes up.

User zapmolticuno acts childish in every game he plays, it seems. I wouldn't shut down the idea that he's acting this way on purpose on every game he plays, but considering how he acts everywhere else on the forum I think it's safe to say it's "normal." This makes accurately reading his posts hard, though.

I don't read Pecilia as scum at the moment to be honest. It's day 1 anyway, and I think it was an honest read on a rather crazy post (who shouts "yee hah" about a death anyway?). No one else, aside from zapmolticuno (who plays weird and reads anti town, but who knows what he's really thinking about), reads scummy to me at the moment, which is understandable since it is day 1.
