Theoretically, I believe that any wavelength on visible spectrum should be color for human eyes, and due to which black & White maybe not considered as color due to this analogy. But then next thing which triggered in my mind is that all 7 colors constitute the white light, and the colors are named only when they are separated; whereas the color black should be defined as the area where the light is absorbed.
And we see color depending upon how they are reflected. So if light is not reflecting back, then the area can be said black, as in the case of blackbody. Whereas White is good reflector, so anything white should appear bright.
If I am considering something wrong, then point me out, I will make a note of it !!
