Well, it helps. Although I don't even need that initial share in interests to talk to someone anymore, to be honest – a good conversation is a good conversation. Just as long as it's not about something I dislike or don't really have any knowledge or opinion of, I'm good to go. It helps, as there is more to talk about, but since attachment isn't a factor in it for me, all similar interests do for me is determine the speed and length of a conversation initially. Aw, I'd love to see you being blunt! Give me a taste of my own medicine, aha. You'd be pretty hard-pressed to offend me no matter what you said; I keep my nerve points buried pretty deep. Irritating me is easy. Offending me is next to impossible.
True, everyone needs their secrets, although I don't think secrets are what necessarily define us as individuals...in fact, I think they're probably quite a small part of it. After all, they're acutely personal things, and as such they don't mean much to other people usually. What you do say is probably more important than what you don't say, even though the importance of it for you is almost certainly going to be vice versa. But then, other people don't know what you don't say to them, so yeah, whether or not they tell you their secrets doesn't matter...unless you tell them you're keeping something important from them, anyway. I wonder if the concept of closeness is determined primarily by the volume of information you reveal to someone? Or the level of trust, in other words. It's...an aggravating subject. I was writing a blog entry on it last month, but I never got around to finishing it because it was so damned hard to articulate something that is pretty much instinctual and subconscious and never really voiced or discussed. XD
It can? I've never had a social life, so I wouldn't know =P
Well, I guess you've got a 50% chance of winning regardless. The rest is just psychology, aha.
I'd be very surprised if you picked up on all of my references. VERY surprised. I don't even pick up on half of the myself sometimes!
It did make me smile...it kinda reminds me of Ahiru and Rue in Princess Tutu, almost. I loved the ending scene where Seiren sang to Hummy to bring her back...although Hummy singing scares the hell out of me.
...possibly. That's not what I was thinking of, but it's a definite possibility. I miss my weekly singing competitions...mostly because hearing assorted people sing random songs (one guy did half the songs in screamo no matter what it was; it was hilarious. xD) and trying to organise duets was awesome. I still have the recordings! I've thought about trying to set something up on PC from time-to-time since I joined >:3
Iiiinteresting. I kinda stumbled through my early months in PC; I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted to do. In the end I settled for anonymity and sarcasm, in keeping with the real-life me, rather than something a bit more low-key and reserved. Sometimes I wonder if I didn't make a huge mistake, but one cannot fight one's nature, no?~
I was quite hyped about the Gameboy Colour, but that was only because I was very young and handheld gaming was just starting to become a huge thing for me. I used to get VERY excited for games, and every now and then I look forward to one quite a bit (to the point that I might start playing it immediately when I get it) but nothing on the level of the crazed fandoms you see online. Hype for something that might turn out to be crap is a bad idea.
I make a point of seeing movies that look good if they're on at convenient times...I saw The Force Awakens on release last year, and I'll endeavour to see Captain America: Civil War, X-Men: Apocalypse and Kung Fu Panda 3 this year. But I can wait for the DVDs if necessary. I'll get them when they're released anyway, aha.
You haven't?! But the opening theme is so awesome! They removed ALL of the relationships in Cardcaptors. All of them. I was quite surprised to find out there were a large number of canon homosexual pairings in it when I discovered it was based on a Japanese show! Although the cousins thing in Sailor Moon definitely took the cake...although I don't ship Uranus and Neptune, because I loathe Uranus and adore Neptune, aha.
Probably quite a bit of shit, which is why I'll probably never release anything I write for public viewing...I can handle criticism, but that doesn't mean I enjoy it. Hell, even popular writers get a crapton of criticism: I don't like his books, but I really pity George R.R. Martin for the stuff he puts up with.
If you play them enough I reckon you'll finish them quickly; it's amazing what motivation does! My completion times for my platted games on my PSN Profile are very telling regarding my motivation for those games, aha.
It is! Reminds me of those creepy nightmares Link has in Twilight Princess...
Hrmn...I dunno. I haven't played many games like it. But you could make dozens of comparisons; it has a turn-based battle system and a monster growth system. Freakin' Final Fantasy XIII-2 has a monster system! You could even compare the need to digivolve/de-digivolve with Disgaea's Reincarnation system! Comparing it to Persona 4 is an insult...and it just rubs me the wrong way to see a game I'm enjoying compared to one I loathed, I guess.
The 8-bit/16-bit ones in Danganronpa 2's OST. I loved the end to that game, because the soundtrack went retro and it was crazy. The whole arcade game had great soundtrack too. And yes, Kid's World was awesome.
Well, I might, if I've the time. Mother will expect me to play one when she plays the other, probably, because that's how we always do things. But I doubt I will, somehow...unless I get a masochistic streak and insist on playing it solely so I can criticise it. I've done that before. It's never pleasant. XD
Wincest? /shot
I've seen a couple of well-handled incest plots in anime (OniAi and selector Infected/Spread WIXOSS) but Ikuhara's...yeaaaaaaah. Okay. Never mind. XD
Ha, GamerGate. I can't believe people are still going on about that...
I don't mind getting games for multiplayer, although I prefer PvE to PvP. Sure, make ME pick something! Well, I'll pick the first show, but you have to pick the second! It warrants discussion, though...should we pick something we've not seen before, or a favourite? I have a huge anime backlog, and I'd be quite happy to rewatch a few of my favourites :3
We have Rugby over here instead of American Football...although it's substantially rougher, aha.
Can't worry about everyone in the world, so it's probably better for your sanity to pick and choose, mhm.
Well, you'll never reach the top, which kinda saps the fun out of it, I think. The knowledge that there will always be someone better has always stopped me competing in games with online leaderboards, anyway. I feel like I'm competing against the rest of the world and losing spectacularly. xD
Including this one, 64,868. Give or take.
