The problem with a Gen 1 sequel is that, well, it was already made 17 years ago. And, what else would there be for a new sequel to do? GSC slammed the book pretty hard on Team Rocket, and it would only feel horribly contrived for them to return for a third time. Yet, at the same time, I don't think anyone would want to see a brand new, completely disconnected Evil Team in Kanto and Johto.

A midquel (like you suggested) would be even worse, since we're dealing with a story that we already know the ending to. Plus, GSC never implied there being any protagonists in-between Red and Kris/Gold, and how in the world would you be able to play as a Red who's already beaten everyone and become Champion?

Nope, the only real way to bring Kanto/Johto back would be to hit the reset button and redo RBY/GSC from the ground up. That, I would definitely support.

I only just caught Cherubi. Wormadam has learnt Confusion...combined with Hidden Power Fire Maylene has suddenly got much easier. :)

I found a Cherubi tonight in the tree near Eterna Forest. :D My team is really coming together: Donovan the Grotle, Rosie the Roselia, Anna the Plant Cloak Wormadam and of course Scarlet the Cherubi. :)

My Roselia already knows Stun Spore but I can do with her learning Weather Ball and Giga Drain.

I had to resort to the Dark arts in order to defeat Sinnoh's Resident Grass Master. :) :0

Sure, I just have to get some of them first xD.

Heatran might not be able to handle them well (except they don't like being burnt by Lavaplume), but Manaphy can. On the other hand Heatran walls the other four, so Manaphy doesn't need to deal with them. Then again, you seem to be more interested into Smogon's Doubles OU meta, which is something I don't know much about.
Just one thing: no matter whether you play Doubles OU or the official VGC format, in any kind of Double battles, you'll need Protect on pretty much every Pokemon you use. There are few exceptions, but I don't know much about Doubles, so I can't tell you which ones.

People usually don't use Forretress in OU, because there's so many better options for Hazard Removal.

And Vileplume without Sun support sucks. Well I suppose it has some use in its own tier, but in higher ones it's just heavily outclassed. :P

Yeah, it feels very much like it's nothing more than a quick, cheap substitute for a proper Gen 1 remake/reboot, which I hope isn't the case. (Although, I'd still hate another FRLG-style remake far more... I can accept the originals being barebones, but not remakes.) I agree with everyone who's said that GF should've at least updated the games to Gen 2 graphics/mechanics and added Fairies and the P/S Split. (I think something akin to Mateo's Red++ would've been better-received instead of plain vanilla RBY.)

Togepi took you a whole day, so I figure that since you said Swinub was easier that it should be done by now. HA and chain breeding sure is more time consuming than simply getting a beneficial nature, huh? Beneficial nature and IV breeding is the only kind I've done.

I caught a Female Burmy today which is now a Plant Cloak Wormadam. It has Hidden Power Fire that might be useful down the line....Still no sign of Cherubi.

Gardenia was not easy. Luckily Turtwig learned Bite and Curse before I evolved him. Curse helped me past Roserade who Gardenia naturally healed. I am not used to stationary trainer sprites.

Talking of evolving Rosie the Budew into Roselia finally evolved at Level 27. It must she said she held her own as a Budew however. :0

Unfortunately that means I am limited to basic berries in the PWT. Gems are useful however.

I never thought of it that way...although I guess I've always looked at shows I watched as a kid differently to shows I watch now. Objectively I guess these shows aren't particularly brilliant, but I suppose objectivity doesn't matter much when you're a kid, aha.
Ken was very well developed, I thought...although that was probably because a good 75% of the series revolved around him, so it was to be expected.

As someone who has a backlog of around 30 games and an anime backlog in excess of 1TB now, I can relate to that, haha. So much to do, so little time to do it...even when you HAVE time to do it. There's always something else that needs doing. xD

No attack Klefki, AV Azumarill, SpD TFlame but with U-Turn, Tankchomp with a really weird moveset, what appears to be non-Mega SD Scizor and a random Vileplume. Does this sum your team up?
Looks like your team is a little bit weak to Heatran and Manaphy (and to an extend Scald). Also, if you want to set up spikes, make sure you do that when your opponent doesn't have a way to get rid of them, anymore (either because their Spinner/Defogger is already gone, or if they don't have time to get rid of them). Also don't set up spikes in front of Forretress, because they usually carry Rapid Spin. {XD}


If you want to run a Sun team in OU, you're more or less reliant on using ZardY, because not only does it bring the sun with it, but it also outclasses Ninetales by a mile as a wallbreaker.
