I don't think the latter follows from the former.

A poster who adds nothing significant to an old topic should be punished not for posting in an old topic, but for adding nothing significant. If posters are punished simply for posting in an old topic, then a poster who does add something significant to an old topic will be punished, and do we really want that?

This is especially significant in the ROM hacking documentation forums, where discussion is focused less on current events and more on technical information that rarely goes out of date. Thankfully, things have changed there since I last updated my signature, and the bumping rules no longer apply, instead being left to moderator discretion. Nonetheless, I keep it in my signature because I think having it there was one of the reasons the rules were changed (along with private discussions with some moderators).

My parents have an Acer Apsire laptop, and as underpowered as that is, it's able to run Windows 7 smoothly but really struggled with Vista even with an extra gig or ram thrown in there.

Yea I have to admit that quite a lot of the hate is formed from people who refuse to update their systems but I updated every week, I did put them off a bit because of the boot up and shut down time but I did it all eventually and it was still very slow no matter how many updates I installed.

The problems with OSX are more underground because a lot of people don't want to admit that they paid all that money for something that is so buggy.

I thought Vista was really cluttered and untidy when compared to XP...

I ran vista for about two years and I hated it so much! It was always slow, it took so long to shut down and start up I used to just set my laptop to hibernate instead of turning it off.

Well if I remember correctly it was late series 1 early series 2 that it was revealed that Owen knew about Tosh's feelings for him. I'm not saying that people who like Owen are anything like him, I just personally don't like him. And I know the dry humour suits his character, but it just makes me dislike him even more.

Yea they failed to use the actress' full potential with Ester. Alexa Havins has a whole range of acting skills, they could've easily made Ester more emotional or more dynamic across the entire series so she changes from the nervous newbie at the start to maybe like Gwen was by the end of the first series.

As for Rex though I think he'd be the sort of person to constantly look at the negative side of being immortal. Always complaining about how everyone around him will die and how he will never feel the relief of death and all those things. But if I'm honest I'm expecting a few jokes about Rex and Jack being together xD

Yea I kinda get what your saying, when they were in that apartment and trying to track the phone call and such I felt more relaxed and into the episode. I think it was because they usually reveal a lot of information when their in one place, such as the hub, working and trying to find out information on whatever it is their working on. And with the Power Rangers though they had that big face dude can't spell his name so I won't attempt too xD living there so it was kinda expected to be a little on edge x3

Yea i preferred the old episodes. It's because in the new ones the entire series follow one story line, in the old ones they had more of a Dr Who sort of style where episodes were independent from the rest and then they had maybe a two parter to finish off the series.

I hated him, I could handle his horrible dry wit or his over the top womanising but the way he treated Toshiko was unacceptable! She was such a nice girl and he trampled all over her without a second thought. Even when she was dying he was being so selfish :<

Oh yea that thing, to be honest I didn't really pay much attention to those bits xD They kind of weaved Gwen's dad in between other plot points such as Oswald and stuff so I only really paid attention to those bits and let all the stuff about Gwen's dad slip over my head xD To be honest they should've spent the time they used on Gwen's dad filling in background details on the other characters. Like Ester. I still don't really know much about her...

It was like they couldn't decide on what to do a story on so they just kinda threw everything in there without really thinking about it making the whole thing confusing. I think the Rex-Vera story line would've been made a lot more exciting if they were allowed to blossom a bit. I'll admit I wasn't even 100% sure they had a thing going on, I thought it was just a couple of one time flings. If they were allowed to get serious, like Jack/Ianto serious, then her death would've meant a lot more to Rex and the show overall. The whole Esters sister thing was just to give her a bit of a back story I think and to give us a reason to feel something when she passes away at the end.

Yea I can see your point but I think it would've been better if Rex was like Owen and was still alive in a different way to Jack. With Rex now we expect to either see him stay with Jack now and go off fighting crime and aliens and such or for him to disappear and then come back a few episodes later as a one off character. Although I think its probably the latter eventually it would've been better if they had thought of another unique way he didn't die.

Yea but in the last few series they had the whole team, also since their in America everythings foreign to them so they can't exactly pull out a huge bit of alien tech to stop everything.

Tbh i was slightly confused about how he picked up on that, I wasn't sure if it was to make Oswald creepier or if its another plot point that revolves around Jack.

But without fear and the stress all the drama would disappear. That was another problem with the fourth series, it was all action. There wasn't much of a underlying story and when there was one (like rex and that doctor person) it was killed off before you could really get into it.

Well I never liked Gwen to begin with and now she's just gotten worse. I can see Rhys becoming an official member soon because lets face it all he seems to do if drive torchwood around xD I thought ester was one of the more interesting Charaters in the new series, I can see why they killed her off but I think they should've took rex with her. But i agree with you about Rex being boring, I think the worse possible move was to make him immortal as well. Actually i think the worse possible move was to make anyone immortal tbh. Now theres pretty much nothing special about jack anymore, the only way they could possibly get close to restoring it now is to find a way to kill off Rex but then they have the problem with how to kill jack too.

I did multiple hard drive tests, i've even used multiple hard drives and it still gave the same result and i've run the memory diagnostic a few times too. Nothing came up.

It's only in Japanese but the cutscenes use the English voice track. I think someone did an English patch for it though.
