Haha no worries, you respond just in time :D I don't spend too long online, except at work (like right now hehe) when there's not much to be done I just pop in to check messages & notifications. Gotta keep looking over my shoulder to make sure Big Boss isn't shuffling about.

Uhm, I don't live in SA /^^!/ I live in the country north of SA, Zimbabwe a.k.a SA's Mexico. In the past SA seemed like such a great place to live in, we'd go there for holidays to visit friends & my uncle in Durban. But when things went upside down here & Zimbos scattered into the wind, many flooded SA, I don't think it's still a great place to live in...well, unless you're super rich & can find a safe spot lol. For visiting or holidays, MAYBE. I'll assume your bf is in one of those safe places & not in a crazy city like Jo'Burg?

I think that's the picture of NYC that I've always had, thanks to movies & probably too much TV. A giant city, full of skyscrapers & with a sea of humanity & cars everywhere 24/7, 365. I can appreciate city life but good lord that sounds like a little too much of the city life haha. What about in the winter months, is that better weather for a place like NYC?

Wow, bus/train then ferry? I could enjoy that maybe for a week before it gets on my nerves..because I'm just so used to either walking or getting on one ride to or from town. Normally one trip should be 50c, but things have been screwed up for the last couple of months (thanks politics) so a trip is either $1 or $1.50. How much are the fares there? For all that travelling that you have to do, I hope the fares aren't ridiculous!

I'm not sure about other varsities but where I was it had 2 semesters, first one starts in January up to May/June, followed by the semester break then 2nd semester begins in July up to November. Primary school & high school had 3 terms to make up the year (while schools in SA have 4), whether you're at a public or private school. Term 1 (January-early April), Term 2 (May-early August) & Term 3 (September-early December).

We can forgive the older fangames, because maybe these were made by fans who hadn't been exposed to a wide range of stories...so they just went for simple tried & tested plots e.g. saving the world + attaching a legendary or more to the big bad organisation featured in the game. I can recommend GS Chronicles, but it's still a Beta since April last year. If you enjoyed HG/SS, you'll like GS. HG/SS graphics + a fresh story back in Johto.

Does it get super hot in your part of the country during the summer months? We're getting super late summer rains now lol usually they happen in November right up into January, then they scatter onwards. This would be the time when track & field sports were what we had on Monday & Wednesday afternoons, gearing up for "Sports Day" where we compete against each other for spots on the school team lol oh, the humanity. So the rain meant no sports in the afternoon & if we were lucky, we'd go home early....if we were unlucky, we'd be told to stay in school for afternoon study or worse - lessons /==./ high school life haha. When does the school year end & how many terms do you have?

It's thanks to living in the suburbs lol even though this is the 2nd biggest city here, it's not a giant metropolis (...yet?). We can swap for a week :D let's see how we each adjust, but I imagine you won't want to swap back lol it's quite peaceful here, compared to the capital city.

Liquid Crystal is one of the most recent titles I've played, a bunch I played a few years ago but they were either alphas, ongoing betas or discontinued so I decided to dive back into some since I've gone through the official titles (except X/Y & Let's Go Pika/Eevee, I don't have a Switch). Dark Violet, Kanlara Adventures, Advanced Adventure, Ash Gray, LightBolt, just to name a few...it's a chance to see how creative some of our fellow Pokemon fans have been, what they have improved upon versus what the official games have offered. Some have been cool & unique, others have just recycled the same mechanics or basic storylines that you come across a lot e.g. your character being a "child of destiny" who has to save the world.....while also on a journey to become a Pokemon League Champion *sigh*

Mid January? Nah, at this point the summer is coming to an end, if you had popped up around October THAT'S when the heat is insane. Arguably the hottest month of the year. Unfortunately it's also during the school term so back in the day you could be forgiven for catching a nap in class haha our summer break is in December & a week or two of January. Marks the end of the school year & on to the next one.

That is rough, at work they understand if you end up late because of the delays & all? I commute as well, it's about 15-20 minutes between home and town or almost an hour if I'm on foot. If it snowed here I guess there'd be no worry about delays because the transport system has upside down for many years...people decided to use their cars as taxis so in most cases you don't wait for very long for transport.

Haha,you're not helping. So now I'll probably have to try W2 again. It's been a couple of years since I played it (maybe let me say sampled it) & W, perhaps W2 will seem new to me now if I go back in. It's just that after Gen 3, things get hazy as far as the Pokemon go. I tend to mix up the generations, especially 4 & 5. They started to remind me of Digimon haha then Gen 6 introduces Mega Evolution & that might as well be Digivolution.

Being south of the Equator, I can't imagine having to deal with snow haha our winters are in June and July, but they just amount to dry, cold weather. But in South Africa there was a year where it actually snowed and people were super excited :D playing in the snow, trying to catch snowflakes on their tongues haha it was so random. How do you deal with snow & that vicious winter weather?

Ohh, yeah! Again, that's a change which should've been introduced in earlier generations. For a long time one has just been used to digging into the bag for a fresh repel when the current one runs out, so it did surprise me when the game asked if I wanted to use another one haha who's bright idea was that to have music for low HP, come on. As if the continuous beeping for low HP wasn't enough.

I remember I was looking forward to playing W2 after finishing W, because I had been under the impression that W2 would offer a whole new storyline since it was a direct sequel. But I think I gave up early in the playthrough, thinking there wasn't enough new stuff for me to keep me going. Please tell me B2 & W2 really had a lot of new stuff ahead lol

Oh wow, Russia? For once, hearing Russia & it's not on some news report :D too much of that going on lol. A nice little break despite work starting, would it help if we swapped holidays? We have one on the 21st, but it's a political one /==./ I can't fix that haha but it will be on a Friday, so hey :)

We had to wait until Gen freaking V for that change, thanks a lot guys lol but it was a breath of fresh air. Came in handy for those Pokemon that don't learn decent moves. A TM like Secret Power really helped, but I took it for granted back in Gen III. Any other changes that you liked?

Thank you for that, he's my favourite rival of all the rivals. He wasn't annoying like a certain someone who became a Gym Leader lol & he wasn't a "friendly rival" like what we've gotten in later games. Never popped up too often at the worst times & had awesome themes. I didn't know his official name until many years later, when I played Silver version (pun intended?) for the very first time I actually named him Gino. You can imagine my surprise when I found out he's called Silver, which is Gin in Japanese haha

No problem :D that's interesting, Pokemon can be educational after all haha I'm glad to hear that. Where were you from before moving to the US? I'm a big fan of Gen 1 to 3, mainly because I really liked the anime (Gen 1 & 2) & my cousin sent me Ruby version as a birthday present, so I spent the most time playing Ruby. Gen V was super fun, I played White. The look, the story, the new mechanics such as reusable TMs, I was blown away by that haha because boy did we struggle with TMs back in the day. I'm doing fine :D just hoping for a nice, quiet weekend. What about you?

Sarah is really sweet probably the sweetest member on the site. But yeah we're trying to use RPGs like GCEA and others to get activity back up so if you're interested in that kind of thing you're welcome to check it out

Yeah the site has relatively died down. They're trying to get a couple RPGs going again to spark some activity. IDK if you're familiar with GCEA but that's recently started up again (though with some complications that hopefully will be resolved soon).

Pokemon Trainer Sarah, Suicune's Fire, and Neo Emolga are still all fairly active though, if you knew any of them.
