Vine is shutting down

Wait, after reading this, I noticed that Twitter is involved with this. Do you think they may have something to do with the mobile app shutdown?

I'm honestly not too surprised, but feel very bad because the majority of the internet stars these days have used Vine to become internet famous. Uploading looping videos is nice but it gets really annoying when you have to keep it at 6 seconds at a time.

Also, most famous viners (Lele Pons, The Gabbie Show, etc) are slowly migrating to Youtube for most of their videos. But at least we still get to see their content on there.

Instagram allows for longer videos AND pictures, so vine can't really compete there.

Snapchat is also immensely popular. While different from vine, Snapchat provides a preferred medium for social interaction.

Its not a decline in social media usage. There are simply better options to use other than vine.

At least most of the gems of the time are uploaded to YouTube so we don't lose them. Sad to see those go though bc something about 6 second clips just feels right............

Considering the front page features a comment that says "People of colour are the only reason why Vine was good" I am of the opinion of saying Good bye and good riddance. Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead. Why can't people just see that the only colour that matters is the blood we bleed? Guess we can't all accept that... a slight detour, but a much needed vent.

As for Vine itself, I'm sure several people are going to miss it, but I never thought that it would become a permanent fixture in the social media circuit anyway. At least you'll be able to keep all of your little videos and download the ones already created it seems. A small mercy, and I doubt anyone is every going to watch every single Vine video.

I say it's a victory for the human race. Vine has always been cancer, which either gave birth to or helped popularize some of the worst fads I've ever seen, like bottle flipping and dabbing. Can't forgot the horribly unfunny excuses for memes like Damn Daniel, U stupid, What Are Those?, the list goes on for a damned eternity.

Good night, demon prince. Hope you sleep like garbage.

Wait what? I thought that TNA would go away soon but here we have Vine suddenly shutting down before TNA. This is outrageous!

I was surprised at this, because I thought it was popular enough that something like that wouldn't end up happening.

But then again, I never made use of it myself, nor did I actually pay attention to videos made on it, so. :D All I was doing was guessing, really.

Okay so I've never made a Vine myself but this is just...idk.

Twitter created Vine, so it's no surprise that they are the ones behind this. The way this shutdown is happening as well is reminding me of how they acquired TwitPic and shut it down, but kept it online for archival purposes.

And that is the absolute reason why I'm sad to see Vine go, because now we're losing another goldmine of viral memes.

I don't think 6-second porn videos would be enough for me because I prefer the whole experience.

6 seconds is still more than the 'pausing Pearl Harbor' method and the National Geographic magazines we used to have :P

Vine is the only home for dank memes!
