    PokéCommunity September 2016 Pokémon TCG Tournament

    Test your skills on the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online! Enter in a low-restriction tournament!

    Information

    Tournament Format:

    • The opening rounds will be a Best of 3 Round Robin to determine seeding in the elimination bracket.
    • The elimination bracket will be Best of 3 single elimination with a 3rd place match. The Elimination bracket will be posted up after the Round Robin stages finish.

    Rules & Restrictions:

    • You may use any card in the TCGO in your deck. This means anything from HGSS and newer, except for Shiftry and Lysandre's Trump Card.
    • Do not abuse any known but still unpatched glitches in the TCGO. If you are caught using any glitches, you will be disqualified.
    • There are no restrictions on the number of decks you can use in this tournament.
    • You can switch decks at any point between matches within each round. You can also switch decks between rounds.
    • Update on September 8th, 2016: Turns out the following cards are not banned from friendly matches: Ninja Boy, Lysandre's Trump Card, and Shiftry (Next Destinies 72/99). These are now explicitly banned from the PokeCommunity tournament going forward.

    Prizes

    • 1st place will get a yet-to-be designed winner's emblem and 6 TCGO codes.
    • 2nd place will get 4 TCGO Codes.
    • 3rd place will get 2 TCGO Codes.
    • Any player who plays all of their scheduled matches will get 1 TCGO code.
    • Participants who play in at least 3 matches will earn a yet-to-be designed participant emblem.

    Important Dates & Schedule

    • Sign-ups end September 3rd at 6 PM GMT.
    • Bracket will be updated within 24 hours of sign-ups ending.
    • The Round Robin stage will last until September 25th at 6 PM GMT. You can play your Round Robin stage rounds in any order.
    • Each round of the elimination bracket will last one week. This tournament will go into October.

    Any card meaning anything that you can acquire in the TCGO. This means anything from HGSS and newer.
     
    I'm new to this game but I love pokemon.

    Can this be a theme deck duel as I don't have too many cards.

    While you can use a theme deck in this tournament, I am not going to make other players only use theme decks.

    It's very likely our November/December tournament will either be theme-deck only or have both an open format and a theme deck only format, though.

    Tentively in, might drop if I find out my computer is more out of commission than I expected. Oh, and assuming I can't find a 4-4-4 Yanmega BREAK (or Yanmega Prime) by the tour, expect Eels. Lots of Eels. And some fish. And a dragon. And possibly a sheep. But mostly Eels. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Did I just give away my entire deck? Probably.

    It's completely up to you and your opponent to establish when you play each other. The only stipulation is that they be played by the time stated in the first post.

    You also don't have to record the gameplay. You can if you want to, though.

    And if you do and give it to me I may write about it for the Daily :p. Don't worry, I won't look until I have played vs you. Don't want to spoil the surprise, do I?

    I and half of New England are at an amusement park today, so I'll message people when I get home. SCHEDULE BY VMs. It makes Don's life easier, believe me.
