Thanks for stopping by for another Poké-Poll of the Week here in Pokémon Voting Polls! If you're just joining us for the first time, make sure that you're following all PC and PVP rules when posting, especially:
Don't just list- expand on your answers! Don't just tell us that Pikachu is your favorite Pokémon- tell us why! If you're just listing or giving very short answers, your post may be deleted, and could be up for a warning or an infraction if it becomes a recurring issue.
Our POTW this time around was suggested by gimmepie, so make sure to thank him if you like the thread. And just a heads up, for any of you that would like to see your poll used as a future POTW, make sure to leave your idea alongside your post, or in a VM/PM to myself. And if your poll is chosen, you'll even be given a special emblem to mark the occasion! With that said, this week's poll question is:

Which are your favorite moth or butterfly Pokémon?

Again, this is another multiple choice poll, so pick as many as you'd like, and don't forget to tell us why!

    Beautifly, Volcarona and Vivillion. :)

Beautifly for the anime. I loved May's Beautifly, although she didn't really show any personality (as a Beautifly at least), she somehow was very entertaining and did very well in her contests. Not to mention, Beautifly has a cute design, too!

Volcarona is a Pokemon I used during my first playthrough on White. I enjoyed using him and he swept through most trainers easily. His type combination is interesting and also his origin.

Vivillion for her cute design. I just really like it haha

Doesn't Masquerain count? :3:3 I know it's maybe something else, but it's my fav. Perhaps it's more mosquito than moth/butterfly. Okay.

Other than that, it's still Butterfree for me. The original and best. But Mothim and Masquerain are so freakin' cute somehow. I'd totally want them on a team.

And you can't dislike Volcarona. You can't not like Volcarona actually. It's too cool.

I voted for Venomoth, Volcarona and Vivillon (funny how they all start with V).

Venomoth because in competitive battling, it can troll you with Wonder Skin and its status movepool, Volcarona because, well...it's a sun god. Quiver Dance and Fiery Dance make amazing signature moves, and its appearance brings fear to the mortals. Praise be to Amatera--Volcarona. I voted Vivillon because of the whole location form thing it brought with it. I absolutely love the thought Game Freak put into this feature, and they pulled it off amazingly well. All the different colours and patterns left me starstruck, as they looked phenomenal.

I vote for Volcarona because I love the combination of bug and fire, it was just something very new to me. When I first caught it in Pokemon Black, I thought it was one of the main legendaries! It was a bummer when I found out it was a regular Pokemon. :(

    Butterfree and Venomoth, the originals.

My vote should be obvious. Great typing, design, and embodiment of the sun, yeah yeah.

Butterfree, Venomoth, Beautifly and Vivillon! I really like most of the butterflies, I just wish these ones were more useful in game :( lv 10 butterfree is awesome for about ten levels before it is overtaken.

Volcarona, Vivillon, and Masquerain if it counts. (It's likely based on a damselfly, but part of its Japanese name comes from "moth", so.)

Volcarona I adore because of how powerful it is--when I first played BW I thought it was a legendary because of its location and how strong it was. It can be a pain to evolve Larvesta into it, and if you catch the level 35 one in BW2 it takes a while for it to learn a decent move, but once it has the proper moves (namely Quiver Dance), it's a pain to deal with unless you can set up Stealth Rock before it comes out. I also really love its design and cry; both are beautiful.

Vivillon I'm a fan of primarily because of its Pokedex number (666; yeah, I know I'm lame for that XD) and the fact that the pattern on its wings varies by real world region. Though the concept isn't original in Pokemon (as there was west Shellos/Gastrodon v. east Shellos/Gastrodon; given, how they appeared depended on what part of the Sinnoh region you were in, not where you set your location to on your 3DS), it's still something pretty cool and is fun for collecting. Plus, apparently it's really good in UU.

Masquerain I've adored for some time namely due to its design; however, I wish it kept Surskit's design and was a bit more useful.

Volcarona. I'm not too fond of the butterfly/moth based pokemon, because they're either weak and therefore not very usable, or have little and dry appeal.

Beautifly and Venomoth take my vote, along with Masquerain if it counts. While I've always thought they were pretty, I never actually used any of the three bugs I listed in a game. However, when playing Flora Sky for the first time, I decided to catch a Silcoon and use a Beautifly on my team. Suprisingly, at level 54, he remains quite useful, and was a great help in taking out bulky water types during the elite four with Mega Drain. Only drawback of using any of these three is that in their respective games, their move sets are extremely limited. Bug Buzz was unfortunately released a generation too late :[

I chose Vivillon, because it's actually really cute and an amazing Compound Eyes abuser with those 91% accurate Hurricanes. I also love its form difference concept in that it's based on what your 3DS' region settings were when you started the game. It's pretty much my fave Bug-type of all time.

Venomoth is a battling menace when my opponent, but a battling beast when on my side. Volcarona is pretty much the same if not an even more powerful Pokemon, and it's very beautiful too which is a plus. :p

Like butterflies, hate moths. Still I like Venomoth. It is useful as a pokemon since it is a poison pokemon with psychic moves - a useful blend against poison types. Butterfree has been my favorite from the start. Vivillion is the latest addition to this category (mainly because of its varying forms). So, I choose - Butterfree, Venomoth & Vivillion.

I voted for Butterfree, as I'm not really familiar with the rest of the options (aside from Venomoth, but I'm not too big a fan, haha.)

I'm voting for Vivillon and Volcarona. Former's extremely beautiful, and has dozens of forms for your viewing pleasure, which, if you ask me, is very unique. I've collected all Vivillon so far, except for maybe only one or two. As for latter, well, it's great competitively. Once you've managed to set up Quiver Dance, it could take down your opponent's entire team single-handedly. =)

Mine are Venomoth and Volcarona. I found the former cool especially once it got Quiver Dance and the physical/special split came before then, and the latter for hopefully obvious reasons. Even though I remember Koga's Venomoth in Yellow sometimes being a jerk...

OMG DUSTOX SEROUSLY NEEDS MORE LOVE lol xD

Btw this is like my favourite poll ever haha, the moth-types are one of my favourite groups of Pokémon :)

My votes go to: Venomoth, Dustox, Mothim and Vivillon :)

The reasons being: I prefer moths to butterflies which should help explain the first three and Vivillon's the exception cause it has so many loveable qualities, like its design and multiple patterns :) The first time the Kalos Pokémon were revealed to me Vivillon stuck out in a good way and it became an instant favourite :)

All four Pokémon are hands down among my favourite pokémon from each respective region that they come from and I've used all of them on different teams. Venomoth is one of the best Pokémon I've ever used so when another Poison Moth showed up in Hoenn, I knew Dustox was gonna be a fave in much the same way :) With Mothim, orange is my favourite colour and to see its design for the first time just made me so happy - it became my partner Pokémon in my first run-through on Diamond :)

Volcarona, Beautifly and Dustox, and most of that because I didn't like any others. Volcarona is probably the most useful one, because of Quiver Dance and an assortment of good moves. The typing which would have otherwise turned out to be horrible is a great asset to Volcarona, because it hits fast, and hard. The design... well, not so much.

Beautifly and Dustox are an honourary mention because of their parts in the anime, and because they both were evolving from the same Wurmple, as I always loved one-Pokémon-evolves-into-two-or-more types. The evolution method could have been better, though. Something predictable, at least.

I gave everyone a chance to suck up to me by hoping you pick Butterfree, but nooooooo.... you guys went with the fire bug and the newbie instead. Hmmph.

Anyways, Butterfree's been one of, if not my favorite Pokemon for as long as I can remember. Part of that I'll credit to the anime, and the other part I'll credit to my Japanese Butterfree card, which is the only Japanese TCG card I've ever owned. Even later on, I found Butterfree quite useful in HeartGold, making it the main member of my party while taking advantage of Compound Eyes and a variety of status inflicting powders. I don't mind Dustox or Vivillon either, but neither of them got a vote from me in the poll.

And with that said, that wraps up this installment of the POTW. That doesn't mean you can't vote if you haven't already- all POTWs remain open even after they've been destickied, so that everyone can let their voice be heard! The next POTW should be up at some point tomorrow, so look out for it then. And if you haven't yet, feel free to send me a few more suggestions for the next POTW. There could be an emblem in it for you, so what's there to lose?
