I can see the opinions on why Lillie will be unlikely, but she'd be a cool choice anyway.
No. Lillie be the worst. I rather have Hau, Gladion or someone as champion.

I guess you have something against female Champions? I know Diantha felt unfitting for a Champion, but Iris and Cynthia were both great. But then again, it has been a while since we last had a proper male Champion if remakes aren't counted.
Assuming these games take place following the events of Sun & Moon and we now have a fully fledged Pok?mon League in Alola, who do you think would be the Champion? Is there any particular character that you'd like to face against?
I'd personally like to see Lillie as the Champion in these games. I think it would be a good way to re-introduce her in a different light after having travelled back to Alola and built her battling skills after defeating the Kanto league.
I like the idea of the protagonist in SM being the Champion, with a more generic Alola team. But that gives way to issues like are we using the boy or the girl protagonist?
Hau I think is also a viable candidate.
Perhaps it'd depend on which gender you pick when you start playing the game? Like, Sun if you pick Female protag, and Moon if you pick Male protag.
ik ew straight but
I want a Dragon champion. I know we have some already but i am a dragon fan. Love to see the champion will all dragon pseudo legendaries in his/her team.
I'd actually kinda laugh if the Champion was Tristan, that one random Youngster who sometimes challenges you for the title. His team is actually pretty balanced and it'd be quite funny if one of the first trainers you defeated was so inspired by you that they randomly decided to become the Champion. xD
Just as long as it's not Hapu; I loathe her design and her character - and her signature Pokemon - and I'd rather she stay as a Kahuna if she has to be anything at all.
Conceptually maybe not, but aesthetically I honestly can't think of a worse choice...I reaaaaally did not like her, haha. Although that said, you do raise a valid point - in the event that these games are sequels, having her as the Champion when she wouldn't have been long as a Kahuna wouldn't make much sense.I don't see anything wrong with Hapu, since she is a strong trainer and she'd be definitely Elite Four-worthy. But I can understand your point since she was only recently appointed as Poni Island's Kahuna.
Tristan though? He'd be the last person I'd expect to randomly become Champion.

As much as I really want the champion to be a brand new character, it's probably going to be someone we already met from the previous game. Specifically, Lillie or Hau.
There's nothing wrong with them in my opinion, but it's going to be an issue with new players that haven't played S/M. And it just feels like a wasted opportunity overall.
That's assuming that it's a sequel.
Maybe the Champion could be Mina... She's the last trial captain. Or (and I already mentioned her) Hapu who is the last Kahuna. I bring up the 'last' as Emerald had the last Gym leader become the Champion. Something which was repeated with B2W2 having the last gym leader of Pokemon White as Champion.
