Chit-Chat: a good ol' fashioned DCC!

I don't know where all of you are from, but, at least in the United States, mental health is stigmatized, and it's really sad. As others have said, there's absolutely nothing wrong with you; the problem is with the other people, not you. I hope this incident doesn't deter you from trying new things--I agree you were brave. The takeaway you should get from all this is that you're awesome for trying something new, and the people in the drumline weren't a good fit. There will be many more opportunities out there, and I hope you put yourself out there again and find something new to love!

Oh it's the same here. In March 2024, this country will offer euthanasia for mental health patients. Instead of, you know, proper support.
There's already been people coerced because the law in general is super lax. There's a case of a man with C-Diff who died this way. That's all he had, a curable infection.

I'm sorry to hear that :(
and congrats from being discharged from nursing care! I had to be in a Long-Term Care Facility at one point, and it felt really nice being able to go back home!

I was in the hospital for 3 weeks and I'm still in outpatient care, but they lessened the days.

I'm not going to attempt to check my posting ratio. I know it sucks lol.

It took me a long while to post in the forum again. I knew something was off with myself when I wanted to avoid people in general offline and online. I won't go into details, but it explains my absence.

I just want to ask a general question to this Pokemon-loving population. How do you get the motivation to train your Pokemon in older games if they're under-leveled? The more detailed your answer the better. Needless to say, i'm finding it hard to find motivation in training and other things irl.

I'm training my Pokemon as gifts for my best friend by the way. I might go to her house in November or December, or at least that is the hope.

I find it's easier to grind in more modern games (Battle Chateau, Raid battles, exp candies) For gen 5, Twist Mountain usually works for me. But for the others, I just tried to find high levelled wild pokemon.

It depends on the game for me. For something like Fire Red I sorta just turn my brain off, maybe listen to a video or some music or whatever, and just battle anything I come across. (a good level gringing spot is those few trainers on the first or second island in the Sevii(?) Islands by the hot spring entrance) For one of the DS titles however, grinding becomes a slog no matter what game it is... I tend to avoid playing them as much as possible with the exception of a very occasional Nuzlocke because of that. I wish I had more advice for those games, but sadly I don't. For the 3DS games though, it's less annoying thanks to the better EXP Share and faster leveling up, so it doesn't feel like it takes 10,000 years to just watch the EXP bar (or the health bar ffs) go up (or down in the case of HP), but it still takes a while regardless. If you're talking about things like EV/IV training though, I've never done that in any game except S/V because it sucks super bad in the older games, so I can't help you with that one. If you're doing this for someone else, my advice is to put something on to destract you from the task and just think of how happy they'll be with the thing you're going out of your way to get for them.

In the older games, I end up trying to brute force with my low leveled team.

It's a unique experience to face Red with a team of low level 50's.

Well I finally bought a new phone today; I'd been looking for an excuse to get rid of the old one since since the screen is cracked; but it finally started having problems registering inputs correctly. I ended up deciding on a $20 flip phone since I've been trying to cut down on my screen-time recently and the batteries last way longer due to fewer background applications. I like it so far.

I might get a new phone with my mom on Sunday. My current phone battery is just so bonkers it's hard to describe.

So I was playing through Omega Ruby again and just speed running everything with the exp. share (training Pokemon for gifts for my friend essentially) and I realized...the hype wasn't there. I thought I would fall in love with the Hoenn games again, but I didn't. I have seven badges, and I can't get myself to do the 8th gym puzzle because...idk my brain shut off. Between my X Game and my Omega Ruby game, gen 6 don't have the rizz. I'm sorry Kalos and Hoenn fans.

And with that said, gen 2 for life! *makes peace sign*

I feel much the same way about the smoking dumpster fire that is Gen 7, so you won't be getting any judgement from me lol. After going back to try and finally finish even 1 of the games, I've found out that I completely despise everything about Gen 7's story progression structure and every part of my mind and body is screaming at me to stop playing it forever and ever, but I'm going to force myself to stick with it just this one time. I knew I wasn't a big fan of it when I started playing them when they first came out, but there was no way I could've known I'd hate them truly this much lol.
