Archipelago (Completed)

@Alex_Among_Foxes Grabbed your Triforce Fragment.

Stardew Valley (Day 1)
Stepped in to help alleviate some of PoryKid's checks. Will not complete the game. Leaves the Community Center alone. Pretty much has access to...just about everything in the game? (Could not go into the Mutant Bug Lair. Might be able to now?) Could have something good behind a long check, like one of the request board checks or a bunch of museum donations.

Took some fiddling to get it to work. Needed to update to 5.5.4 of the mod. Was on 5.4.5 previously. Has not played Stardew Valley in a little bit.

Started with a cool ~36000 gold, fully-upgraded tools, and a Greenhouse. Constructed the three available obelisks shortly after (Island, Desert, and Beach) for free. Moves super fast, thanks to the four movement speed buffs. Skipped past digging through all the mailbox letters too, as a bonus.

Began at the very end of Fall in Year 4. Clearly skipped a lot of time, likely for farming and money generation. Waded through a sea of bushes near the wizard tower and at the playground. Completely filled the fruit/mushroom cave. Decided to go for Winter first. Presumes that to be less desirable for PoryKid to do (but likely necessary for a bundle anyways).

Fished a bunch to get the basic Help Wanted: Fishing request. Why was it so difficult to catch 3 Red Mullets? Probably got 6 of every other ocean fish, minus the Squid (2 of those). Was not too put out, though. Needed both the Squid and the fishing levels anyways.

Primed the pump for marrying Sebastion. Did not have enough Amethysts to justify Abigail. Cooks up Sashimi very easily. Spotted Sebastian's birthday later in Winter too. Gives more friendship points for birthday gifts. Is there something for marrying someone with these settings? ...Shrugs. Will find out. Needs the relationship hearts to dance with someone in Spring anyways.

Demolished Journey of the Prairie King. Ended with 24 lives or something. Only got a few Junimo Cart checks. Dislikes that game a lot. Normally turns off arcade checks for that reason. May give it another crack later.

Also pulled off a handy trick: save-scumming. Bought the Gold Pickaxe Upgrade (which was a keycard for StarstruckFlora) for a pretty costly 12500 (or is it 10000?). Handed over an Iridium Bar to the wizard too. Immediately exited to the title screen. Reloaded. Regained all the resources. Still sent the item.

Grabbed your Triforce Fragment.

And with that my games are complete! That was a super fun event! Thanks for hosting Deva!

Stardew Valley (Part 2)
(Probably completed this nearly a week ago. Just wrote it up now.)

Married Sebastian. Got a non-randomized Stardrop for it. Must only be with Friendsanity active or something.

Fulfilled several request board tasks. Hated the Leek one. Sounds easy to get 12 in 14 days (plus another for a quest). Went several days without finding one. Found plenty of the other foraging items. Finished it with maybe one day to spare.

Powerleveled all the remaining skill levels. Hit level 10 in everything. Made sure to do anything fishing-related.

Left all of the mining/dungeon-related stuff alone, as well as the bundles, as requested. Cleaned out everything available beyond that. Could not do a couple things, such as the Truffle Oil quest (which needs the final barn upgrade), and a few crop-related things.

Gave Junimo Kart a few more chances. Picked up another item or two. Reached the final level. Lost pretty much every life at the same spot (this spot?):

Just got the Island Farmhouse about an hour ago. Talked to the parrot at the Island Resort for Earthbound's Meteorite Piece.

Earthbound (Part 11)
(Also stuff from over two weeks ago)

Used the Key to the Shack from Jbsundown's Crystal to enter Giant's Step. Scaled these enemies up quite a bit. Believes it was maybe double their standard hitpoints. Normally completes this at around level 10 in vanilla, though. Entered at around level 92. Squashed them no problem for Sanctuary #7. (Only got maybe 3 items in there. Did not feel worth the update.)

Still needed the Meteorite Piece at this point. Received every other "progression" item in the game. Defeated Carpainter with the Franklin Badge in hand (which was randomized to reflect Ice). Paid off the Runaway Five's debt with a Diamond.

Back to the present: Gave that Meteorite Piece to Dr. Andonuts. Warped to the Cave of the Present. Requires...8 Sanctuaries. Of course. (Set it to 4-8 Sanctuaries required. Rolled high.) Will end up 100%ing this game. Waits for the Jar of Fly Honey to come in from Roguish_Raven's Route 2 aide.
_____________

Currently down to 4 games: Earthbound, Pokemon Red, Stardew Valley, and Doom. Already hit go-mode in Red and Stardew Valley. Knows where the last item for Earthbound is. Hunts for the remaining Doom levels now, basically.

Earthbound Part 12
Got the Jar of Fly Honey. Proceeded through Belch's Factory. Found more scaled up enemies. Figures maybe triple the standard experience (after accounting for the x1.5 experience boost). Crafted the Foppies here out of sterner stuff than the Lumine Hall ones.

Took a while to beat down Belch. Does not use the Jar of Fly Honey in the Archipelago battle. Fights Belch straight up. Survived two Smaaash hits from Ness, which were about 800 each, not to mention the other attacks. Fired off Starstorm Omega because why not? (Was actually thematically appropriate, given you beat the refight with Starstorm Alpha.) Finished it there.

Proceeded to Giygas. Ran into something that was fixed after this current version. Faced the (unused) version of Pokey with Fire Beta...scaled up to Fire Omega. Hit before Paula tossed up the PSI Shield, unfortunately. Knocked out Paula and Jeff. Beat Pokey right as Poo's hitpoints would have fell to 0, which saved him at 1 hitpoint.

Appreciated the Ice Franklin Badge on Giygas. Reflects one of the attacks. Encountered some difficulties with Jeff feeling strange and Multi Bottle Rocketing Paula for 1200 damage. Still managed. Bought Horns of Life for situations like this (and the PP for Healing Omega).

Mentions one nice little touch for the Archipelago version. Finishes by calling for help. Prays to the player name that you enter in-game in vanilla. Picks a random slot in this. Defeated Giygas thanks to Alex Fox LttP wishing for it.

No useful items for the remaining players, unfortunately. Leaves three games to go.

LMAO XD

Finished off the last game of the seed. Thanks everyone for joining. Hopes to see everyone next time.

Attached the spoiler log too. Details things like your settings, where items were, entrance shuffle stuff (even if not enabled), and the seed's planned progression path.

I agree, when/if another of these gets hosted, I really wanna know! Congrats on everyone's clears!

Interest check: Is anyone interested in another Archipelago game starting in about a week from now? Comes right on the heels of the last game. May be the last decent time to do one this year, though. Approaches the holiday season soon. Saps a lot of people of their time. Avoids starting one then.

I figured it wasn't super necessary for me to reply to that but just for the sake of being clear and saying this for the record, I'd absolutely love to do another one even that soon. It'd take me more time to get my games set up and everything, but absolutely consider me already signed up ahead of time. Keep me posted!

@Alex_Among_Foxes @Setsuna @Explorer of Time Already appears to be in planning by Arcaneum. To quote the Discord:
I was also going to consider hosting one for Halloween week, if that works better for some people! That said, I was going to look at something a bit faster and potentially competitive

Cedes hosting duties to them. Will host one in the unlikely event of that falling through for whatever reason, though. So, feel free to begin thinking about/preparing/testing possible games to play.

Oh in that case, I'll be there. Though I want to say I'm really not interested in it being a competitive thing, I don't think I'd enjoy that nearly as much, and I'm mainly making this post to see if that's the case for any other people. I enjoy the collaborative aspect of something like this a lot and with how much your own progression is based on what other people do I can't see it being nearly as fun in a competitive environment.

Based on Arc's description of how they want to run the event, I'll be passing on that one. I have no interest in either blitz Archipelago, nor competitive Archipelago. Please ping me when you'll be running it again, or if the structure of Arc's event changes.

If we're playing blitz Archipelago, I'll cut down SC2 to just Wings of Liberty and drop the storyline updates. I do intend on playing Doom and hopefully Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, though.

Thanks for hosting Deva!

To clarify - I want to put something together for Halloween and probably aiming for a 1-2 week period around the week of, but just want to have something that makes it go a little faster because as fun as it was playing my games and going through stuff and whatnot, it was also not fun having to sometimes wait for an incredibly long time for some things (and some other stuff that I don't want to get into publicly). Not enough to like ruin it for me or anything, but I know one draw of the version we did in the GT was the fact that the pace meant people were always doing something.

But I knew that some people were going to object lmao, just natural different formats will be preferred by different people so you're more than welcome to get something set up similar to the one we just did!
