Archipelago (Completed)

[PokeCommunity.com] Archipelago (Completed)

13 out of 16 of my areas are completely cleaned out thanks to obtaining my Windmill Shuriken and realizing I can use it in some... weird ways. So I'm here to correct a few of the things I said a little while ago:

  • Magic Firefly and Path of Resilience from StarCraft 2's Shatter the Sky: Southeast Coolant Tower and Engine of Destruction: Victory
  • Aerobatics Warrior from Pokemon Crystal's Rocket HQ B3F
  • Strike of the Ninja from Bomb Rush Cyberfunk's Millennium Mall

I'm no longer looking for any of these! The first two have already been obtained, and the last two aren't really important enough to ask anyone to go out of their way for. They would make things convenient but I could happily complete the game without them.

And uhhh... wherever Claustro and Pyro may be hiding, poor guys.

Claustro is back home, but Pyro is still missing! I'm two points away from my last possible hint, but obtaining Pyro would allow me to enter the Forlorn Temple, the last area I've yet to enter and grab 5 of my remaining 20 checks. If anything else is unlocked for me before he comes back home, I'll use my last hint to find where he is and ask whoever he's with for him.

My remaining important items are as follows:
  • The Money Wrench, which will allow me access to a second shop, making most of my remaining checks available. Though I'm told the check for it is easy and it won't be an issue.
  • The Sun Crest and Power Thistle, which will both unlock one check each and allow me to clean out the Sunken Shrine and Searing Crags respectively.
  • The Keys of Hope, Courage, Symbiosis, and Strength, which are required to access the final boss of the game, which is my end goal. I expect these will just be found eventually, but I wanted to mention them so someone can get excited they found something useful when they run into them.
The end of my mission is in sight! Thank you for all your help!

Edit: Pyro has been found, I know where he is! The Money Wrench cleared up a lot of the remaining checks and I'm just at 7 left now. I'm also completely out of hints, and I'll be in your care completely from now on. If you find anything remaining for me, please let me know!

An update from me as well.
I've cleared about half of Ganon's Tower now that I have access to it with the crystal I got from Misery Mire, but I'm gated from literally the rest of the dungeon from a severe lack of Hookshot. So much of the game requires it that I finally broke and used a hint. (which I'm really bothered about feeling like I needed to do that, no one's fault, strictly an ALttP issue I'd never known about before this lol) Turns out it's in a super shit location in Arc's LG game... >.> So yeah, pretty unlikely that I'll have any considerable progress in the near future.

I still need the Hydralisks from the Warden's House in your LeafGreen, as a Zerg Anti-Air unit is the only thing between me and easily being able to beat my game. EDIT: Corruptors from Nabreus Medallion 1 (1) in your FF12 would work too. I only need one of the two to win.

If you can get to Pattern Bush than I'd also appreciate the Photon Cannons from beating Bug Catcher Garrett, and likewise for the Khaydarin Monoliths from Clan Boss: Firemane (2) in FF12.
ArcaneumFF12 sent Corruptor to Expl of Time SC2 (Nabreus Medallion 1 (1))

Finally got there! Only had to do the most disgusting roundabout sidequest ever, but we got there!

Excellent! With these, I can win every mission left in my game!

(Though there are three missions in particular that'd be much easier with the Khaydarin Monoliths or Photon Cannons, so I'll save those three for last assuming no hinted items are there.)

Mission 51/83: Ghosts in the Fog

We return now to the planet Atrias, which we once raided in our space pirate days for a Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon card for Arcaneum. But now we come not to raid, but to conquer the Tal'darim planet with a full Protoss army! This planet had no genuine Vespene Geysers, which made gathering it difficult at first, but we got lots of vespene through eruptions and breaking three rock formations to beam small amounts of vespene straight to our base. We started off by mostly building Zealots, but later moved on to Instigators and later Annihilators as we got more and more Vespene. Minerals were abundant and never the limiting factor, thanks to an early capture of a Tal'darim mineral field.

The three rock formations we destroyed held valuable treasure, too! The first had a Silph Scope for 5qwerty's FireRed, which should be quite helpful if you're stuck in Lavender Town. The second had a Small Key for Alex in LttP, and the third had a Box of Shotgun Shells for Doomguy. Finally, we broke through the door back into what remains of the Temple of Erris to see if the Tal'darim had hid anything else there since we raided it, and were rewarded with captured Terran Cyclones. This now completes our collection of (non-mercenary) Terran vehicles!

We have totally conquered Atrias and will not return.

Mission 52/83: Shoot the Messenger

Before we conduct peace negotiations with the Daelaam Protoss, there's one matter we have to conclude. Kaldir, a disputed world partially occupied by us early in our space pirate days. We've sent our Zerg there to quickly break the stalemate and overwhelm the planet before peace breaks out and we're unable to dislodge them further.

Kerrigan is much stronger now, having two of her ultimate abilities simultaneously. The Drop-Pods she got from Pazuzu's Tower give her an instant ground army whenever I want one, and she also has Spawn Leviathan to get the largest Zerg air unit. Finally, the Corruptors we got from Arcaneum give us access to the heavily-upgraded Devourers, which can also now attack both ground and air units. These Devourers completely turned the tide and single-handedly took my Zerg army from my weakest faction to my strongest.

The Protoss sent several shuttles out to travel to Shakuras, which we destroyed to prevent them from detecting the attack and warping in reinforcements. One of these shuttles had a Platinum Dagger for Arcaneum's FF12 salvaged from the wreckage. There were several frozen Zerg here, along with nearby frozen treasure. The frozen Hatchery we took control of contained a Max Revive for Raven, while we found Tal'darim defector Blood Hunters in another patch of ice for our Protoss army. We found a Command Center Reactor to double the speed of our Terran SCV production in a third patch of ice, and the final frozen treasure was a Coin Case for Arcaneum's LeafGreen.

We also destroyed three Protoss Stasis Chambers, one containing some starting Vespene for us, a second having a Zinc for 5qwerty's FireRed, and a third having a Steel Joker for 5qwerty's Balatro. Once all the optional objectives were done, we razed the Protoss base to the ground with our upgraded Kerrigan clone and our new Devourers, and once the last launch bay was destroyed we got an Executive's Ring for Cherrim's Kingdom Hearts 2.

We have now completely conquered Kaldir and expect to keep it in our new peace negotiations. We will not return here. We have also unlocked every single mission, meaning that we can now play anything without having to go through other missions to get to them.

EDIT: Thank you for those Missile Turrets, Setsuna!

Mission 53/83: Phantoms of the Void

With Devourers bolstering our forces, we finally have a strong enough army to assault the Tal'darim space station of Skygeirr. However, when we attacked it, we found an old acquaintance of ours waiting for us... Gabriel Tosh. He had defected to Tychus, scouted out ahead of an imminent Korhalian invasion of the station, and used the psionic power of the station's five Xel'naga temples to drive a Null Field towards our Kerrigan clone, effectively taking her out of the battle. Thankfully, we used both of Kerrigan's ultimate abilities to spawn a Leviathan and Primal Zerg army right before, which we used to take our the eastern Tal'darim base before they despawned.

We built up a large army of devourers to back up our secondary hero, Infested Stukov, while he destroyed the Xel'naga temples, and wiped out the rest of the Tal'darim bases. We also destroyed three Xel'naga crystals, two of which held treasure. The first had a Protector of the Throne Yu-Gi-Oh card in it for Arcaneum. We're not sure why there are so many Yu-Gi-Oh cards in these kinds of places. Perhaps the card game goes back even further than ancient Egypt, and the Xel'naga once played it when they had their civilization. In any case the other Xel'naga crystal had a Pak of Bubble Gum for Ness, which just seems like garbage to us but might be something incredibly valuable for him.

The Xel'naga temples had a few treasures of their own, too. The northeastern temple had a Small Key for Alex Fox in Zelda 1, and the central temple had a Charger Barding for Arcaneum's FF12. Finally, once we took down the last temple, the Kerrigan clone easily killed Tosh with a psionic blast, and we looted his specialized cloaking tech to create Displacement Fields to make our Wraiths dodge more attacks while cloaked, and cloaking devices for our Sentries, which can also work for Energizers and Havocs should we obtain either unit.

After the battle, we got an imminent report about an incoming invasion fleet from Korhal, backed up by Gorgon Battlecruisers, so we decided to retreat from Skygeirr, for now.

Mission 54/83: The Crucible

The Kerrigan clone was badly wounded by the battle at Skygeirr, so we traveled to the planet Zerus, to a primordial Spawning Pool that could heal her and restore her power. While healing, we were attacked by the Primal Zerg who inhabit Zerus, who we fought off with an army of Devourers backed up by several Swarm Hosts.

We didn't get much treasure this time, since we were in a static location. We found a way to produce Battlecruisers faster, which we can't even produce in the first place yet. We also found a Heart Scale for Arcaneum in LeafGreen, the Big Key for Thieves Town in Alex's LttP, and the Ame-no-Murakumo katana for Arcaneum's FF12.

Now that Kerrigan is healed, it's time to get revenge on the Primal Zerg for attacking us. There are five Pack Leaders we need to slay, and we're heading to slay them now.

Mission 55/83: Supreme

Time for the final no-build mission of the campaign. We sent the Kerrigan clone, along with a lot of Primal Zerg, to slay four of the five Primal Zerg Pack Leaders, and in the process got some treasure from them, but not much of any value. Since Kerrigan already has two of her ultimate abilities, we had a much bigger army than we're supposed to have here and were able to steamroll everything.

We also found three Xel'naga relics, one with a suit of green armor for Doomguy, a second with a Rare Candy for Jbsundown's Crystal, and a third with a Calcium for 5qwerty's FireRed. 5qwerty also got a useless Apicot Berry after we killed Yagdra and an equally useless Glitter Mail from the corpse of Zurvan. I got something marginally more useful from Kraith in the form of extra starting minerals. Sliven had a Stun Gun for Jeff to use in Earthbound, but Devalue doesn't have Jeff yet and it's much more likely that Ness is holding onto a better gun for him already.

There is still one more Pack Leader on Zerus that we have yet to kill: Brakk. With the other Pack Leaders slain, he commands all Primal Zerg forces not under our control, and we will need to kill him before we leave.

I will get that for you the instant someone finds my flute so I can access the dungeon! (y)
Are you able to hint for the flute? It may give us a clear direction on what's blocking the path forward. If it's in my FireRed, then it will be a an arduous journey starting with me getting Surf.

Mission 56/83: Waking the Ancient

Still on Zerus, Brakk proved surprisingly elusive compared to the other Pack Leaders, and we had to draw him out by hunting the Quillgor in his home territory to starve him out. We built up an army of Devourers, like usual for our Zerg, and also used them and Kerrigan to wipe his four Primal Hives off the map. There were also a pair of Essence Pools that had items growing within, a Seed for confused_piplup and a Big Mushroom for 5qwerty's FireRed.

The four Primal Hives also had treasure. The first had a Power Star for Mario, and the second had a Lum Berry for Arcaneum's LeafGreen, coincidentally the 5000th item collected this Archipelago. The third had a Wasteland Yu-Gi-Oh card for Arcaneum, since apparently even Primal Zerg like to play Yu-Gi-Oh, and the last had a Music CD (GET ENUF) for the Bomb Rush Crew to listen to. Finally, when we returned home with the Quillgor meat, we exchanged it for a Mr. Baseball Cap, which probably isn't as useful as the Hard Hat we gave Ness but might be usable by another party member.

With the Primal Zerg pack leaders slain and Zerus completely under our control, we can safely depart the planet and will have no further missions here.

We also got Brood Lords from Thieves Town shortly after the battle, but the Devourers I have are upgraded enough that they outclass the Brood Lords in everything but range, so I don't expect to use them much.

Technically yes, but I hate using hints.

Is it possible to hint for other peoples' items? I have a hint available and a path to complete every mission in my game without any more items. (Not for Alex, I'd use it on the Surf HM for 5qwerty.)

In that case, I'm just going to hint for Tech Reactor. It's at Clan Rank: Paragon of Justice (2) in Arcaneum's FF12. You do not need to worry if you don't find it, but it'd help me a little bit.

For the record, if it were possible, I wouldn't care. Only I don't want to know where stuff is, I don't care if anyone else knows lol.

Mission 57/83: Domination

We need to deal with Tychus's Gorgons, but they're very difficult to defeat conventionally. That being said, we do have an ace up our sleeve that we can use to take them down... but that ace is contained entirely on Char and we need to bait the Gorgons there. To that end, I set up a very lightly-defended Zerg base in the Acid Marsh, raided the real Kerrigan's Baneling egg storage, and wasted most of those Banelings subduing the broodmother Zagara. We did not need to build any military units since Kerrigan and the Banelings and Zerglings could handle everything themselves... and we want this place to be a soft target for air power, don't we?

We found several treasures among the Baneling Nests and Infested Command Centers. We found three Yu-Gi-Oh cards, Axe Raider, Lisark, and Javelin Beetle Pact, once used in card games by the now-infested Terrans. We also found three Pokemon items for Arcaneum's LeafGreen, a Shadow Mail, Ultra Ball, and Razz Berry. A Baneling Nest had an item for Arcaneum's third game, a Battle Harness for FF12. The next Baneling Nest had a single Time Shard for Setsuna, and the last had a Reflect Element for Cherrim's KH2. Finally, when we razed Zagara's base, she offered to surrender to us and fight for us on a future mission, and as a token of her honesty she told us vaulable information about how to be better at fishing, which we sent over to CoolKid to increase his Fishing Level.

Now, the time has come to sit and wait for Tychus to send his Gorgons to wipe out our base in the Acid Marsh, then return to the Bone Trench for refueling... where we will spring our trap.
