Battle Stadium Daily Chit-Chat [Everyone go on the PO server please :D]

Some of this discussion pertains to the battling aspects of the game, such as the argument against dragons. It should be fine here.

4 Dragons in OU is enough. :P I mean, Salamence is a wrecking ball, Dragonite is alright, but outclassed, Flygon is alright, and Kingdra is decent. Outrage is a menace. Considering all four of those pokemon can use physical sets makes it even scarier. This results in the requirement of at least one steel type in a team to counter such a threat.

Thus the reason the metagame is Steel/Dragon dominated. We do not need more dragons to make us require more steel types in a team.

IDK about Dragonite. A couple well placed Ice Beams or Blizzards often bring Dragonites down, at least in my experience. Other than Dragon Dancing Outrage, it is usually not a major threat.

Thats what Aero basically said. Its outclassed by Salamence.

And yeah I think that there is enough dragons running around. And all can be a pain to deal with. Though I doubt that we won't get another dragon in Gen 5. Lets just hopes its uber lol.

A Fire Dragon Type would be nice ;)
All non-uber dragons from gen 1 to gen 4 (except kingdra) might have a 4x weakness, but they also have a high Atk value and can learn good moves...that`s why they are dangerous.

As if this isn't proof enough of the steel/dragon dominated metagame. In the top 10 alone, it includes the two best dragons (who are both top 5), as well as along with 4 steels.

Also, a Dragon/Water would be nice. One that isn't like Kingdra and its attempt as a Jack of All Trades. I want something that favors special attack.

I wantz a Bulky Ghost Eevee evolution....

I'd like to see another special attack ground-type personally with some speed. Claydol is ok, but not really a special attacker and camerupt is meh. Ground/Ghost would be awesome. Weird but cool.

I don't think there would be a new dragon type in 5 gen unless they decide to give Altaria an evolution which will send it to OU. Bug is something that really needs some new toys to play around with.

what makes you think altaria will go OU ? :x

*waltzes in and subscribes to thread*

On new Pokemon for Gen V, some of the things I'd like to see are a Dragon-Bug evo of Yanma/Yanmega, a *preferrably OU* Fire/Psychic, and of course a Fighting-Flying type.

An Altaria evolution will probably only go to OU if it is given something that allows it to compete with Salamence & Dragonite. Perhaps the loss of that -Flying type, a nifty new ability, or, god forbid, Uber-level stats. XD

there needs to be a ground ghost dragon and rock eevee evo.

I'm confused as too why OHKO moves and Evasion clause are both banned from standard here but Hax items aren't. Isn't the whole premise of OHKO and evasion to try and remove luck from the battle?

And what are these hax items you speak of? Most people ban them...I'm almost positive about that...

Hax Items are more "frowned upon" then they are banned...I mean, technically they aren't illegal, but if you're a respectable player you shouldn't be using them anyway imo ^^

So I'm not a respectable battler. ;_;

XD I used to condone them some time ago, but now I don't use them at all, regardless of whether they're allowed or not. Focus Sash > Brightpowder, anyway. At least on Pokemon immune to Spikes and Sandstorm. ^_^

Well, TECHNICALLY you can use whatever you want so long as both parties agree upon it.
Well of course. Technically, if both parties agree to using 6 vileplume, they could do that too, lol.

God, I remember BrightPowder Garchomp, it brought me back from so many 1-6 scenarios as a n00b, hilarious stuff. XD; I'm well above that nowadays.

And haha, D_A, I remember people using their "NO BLISSEY!!" clauses back in the ol' days.
