I don't understand why so many people walk into college with no clue what they're doing and end up blowing a bunch of money they didn't have to spend.
As much disdain as I have for my country and its apparent corporatotheoplutocracy, I have a secret love for the Army and everything it does. The United States and I have a complicated relationship.
It's probably because parents force their kids to go to college just to get them out of the house, when what they really should be doing is force their kids to get a minimum wage job. Then maybe their sorry asses will be motivated to get some better education in some field. College isn't for everyone and too many parents fail to realize that. It bogs the system down.
As for the military, as a member of the Army Corps of Engineers, I have complicated relationship with it. It's made me respect the military a lot more than I used to, but at the same time I still can't approve of a lot of the things the military does, like drone-striking and it's lack of accountability for "collateral damage". God, I hate that term, it makes it seem like they're trying to make it look like killing civilians is justified (it isn't). Plus, I don't care if it hurts my paycheck...we need to cut military spending in the United States, it is waaay overblown. I remember hearing in my government class that if we took out 80% of our military, we'd still have the largest military in the world.
I agree, corporatism sucks. Too many big corporations in bed with government, getting special privileges. Play the game without government, a-holes. See how long you last then, cheaters.
