The worst scheduling I had in college was the second semester of my junior year. I had a decent schedule - one or two classes a day, only a few hours...but then on Tuesdays I had class from 9:30am to 8:30pm with only about a 15 minute break around 4pm. It was horrible.

Most of the time I managed to get a good class schedule that gave me plenty of free time and not too much/too little time between classes though.

D: That's terrible! What were you studying? Generally my friends in engineering complain about how their schedules are from morning until afternoon/night.

Do any of you guys go to multiple campuses like me though? I go from one campus across town on Mondays and Wednesdays for my Chemistry class, then after that, I go to the one closer to my home for my English class.

Mork did MUSIC. 8) He plays the organ. heheh.

Funny, I was talking to him about that last night on Skype. I was cracking up so bad rambling about pipe organs and how his church should have one and that his electric organ is probably nowhere near as cool as a pipe organ. So funny :3

Do you go to a community college?
I know my mom does for a dental hygienist program with multiple campuses that she has to go to for certain classes.

If this counts as such, I went to community college through '09-'13 and transferred to the college I am now. I joined the forums shortly before I moved in here. What is significant is that my college is right across the street from another college that we looked at. They're similar schools, but we settled on the one i'm at now.

Hmm. 4 years of community college then a transfer? That doesn't make sense does it? Did you like take your time to get your AA?

I did this for my final semester, but my class days were Monday and Friday. The only difference is that one campus was 1 hour 15 minutes away and the other was 45 minutes away... at least from my parents' place by car... in good traffic. From my apartment at the time of my final semester, my Friday classes were 1 1/2 hours each way by bus, and buses didn't run early enough to the other campus from my apartment so I had to be picked up on Sundays by my brother and drive into class from my parents' place on Monday.

Far more exhausting was working 8-5 on Mondays, then having to drive 1 1/2 hours in rush hour traffic on Tuesdays to my classes at the far campus to be there by 8:30 and frequently have to stay on campus until 8:30 or 9 PM and then spend an hour-ish driving home, having classes again midday Wednesdays at that same campus (fortunately I only had to arrive at 1 and was typically out by 4:30), then work from 8-4:30 on Thursday and drive 1 1/2 hours in rush hour traffic again to get to class at the same campus again at 6 and stay in class until 10, getting home around 11, and then work Friday from 8-5 again.

Some advice: working while in school makes school exhausting. I had my associates in 5 semesters instead of 4 because I was pretty burned out by my 4th semester and wanted to ease up a bit since I also was taking the writing course at that time.

These days, at least in the states, very few people are able to do a traditional education route and get a bachelors in just four years--more and more people are spending more time at community college and taking longer to get their associates. It's hard to support yourself while taking enough units to get a degree in such a short time.

This is the trickle-up society designed to keep the rich rich and the poor poor.

I'd much rather have a blast in the Army and get a degree for free, then do the Green to Gold program and get commissioned. O-1 pays the same as E-5 at the moment, and O-3 pays twice as much as that. Plus you get to drill, do PT by running across post and back every morning, wear an awesome and cool-looking uniform, and have basically a private structured organizational society that everyone has a part in. What's not to love about that?

You really don't need to be rich to be in college though. As long as you make good grades in high school and get good SAT scores, most states have a good scholarship program for things like that. It's just something that people need to be informed of before senior year because I sure as hell wasn't.

Correct, I attend the community college here. It's cheaper tuition than entering into a 4-year university.

Did you just transfer or something?
I remember when I first joined you were in Orlando going to a community college near UCF. I guess now you're in Tampa at a community college near USF or something?

I don't understand why so many people walk into college with no clue what they're doing and end up blowing a bunch of money they didn't have to spend.

As much disdain as I have for my country and its apparent corporatotheoplutocracy, I have a secret love for the Army and everything it does. The United States and I have a complicated relationship.

I thought I was alone with the whole transferring programs/schools mid-way~ Did psychology for 2.5 years, out of the 4, until I realized I couldn't stand it anymore and was making me depressed so I switched to 3-year IT program. So much happier here and doing way better :D

I'd probably have graduated college by now if it weren't for two reasons:

a) tied down with an actual job
b) have to take classes that have nothing to do with my major

Havent posted here in a few days, been so busy. Missed you guys <3

As for me, I am only taking one class this semester and it's an online psychology that I had already taken before but it didn't transfer because it was just a CC course. I will be back on a full schedule in the fall and I am definitely looking forward to it :D
