I have a gargantuan vacation till August cause I decided to take a year of rest from school... It isn't a smart choice, but it is refreshing tbh.
Prom at my school is a rip-off. Last year it was $50 a person, no meals at all, which is why I went to the military ball hosted by our ROTC regiment, which was $25 for one, $40 for a pair, with a hot sit-down meal with real napkins and rolls and everything.
This year the military ball is $20 for one, and $30 for a pair, and prom tickets are $60 now... same meal schedule. Basically you could take yourself and seven other people to a sit-down meal with a dance floor and billiards for the price of you and your SO to the school cafeteria. Sounds like a deal, doesn't it? \o/
Weed is another thing I'd never touch. I know it's healthier than cigarettes and is used for medical purposes, but it's just not my thing. I've always wanted to try Cards Against Humanity too. Combinations like this make it seem like a blast of a game

Also semi-related note: I see those vapor pens all over my campus. It seems like a lot people have them at my college. It looks like a good way to smoke without spreading nicotine in the air and also help you quit smoking if you want to.
I go to a public school, but it's federal rather than state because it's for military kids. In lamen's terms it's annual budget is over six times that of the city I live in. :PDid the venue for your prom change from the past year to the current year? It could have just been the cost for the place to host an event that caused the prices to go up (even still, your backup plan sounds like a waaaaaay more fun way to spend your money. Prom is completely overhyped.)
Do you go to a military school?
