It sucks though, cause many people treat moderators differently, just because we're in a position of power. Some are antagonistic, some are kiss asses, and some just love us. It's all weird and bizarre, and personally, I don't like it. Give people appropriate behavior of what they do, not what they're meant to do.

That is so true, most mods here at PC like to involve themselves like normal members. That's what our fave Welcome Lounge mod Sheep said herself. Even if I was a mod, I'd most likely act like a normal member while doing mod work at the same time. I would be a very lenient mod that's for sure.

Agreed.
Personally I decide whether I like somebody on a forum or not by reading their posts to see how they act and react to different things, and what their interests are.
I have been thought of as pretty strange before, because of that, though.

Turns out people generally get weirded out when they notice that I like/dislike them without having talked to them much. . .

Sometimes, to be honest, moderators flaunt their powers around. Not saying here, but on other forums I have seen it. So, sometimes there is a reason why members treat moderators differently. Some moderators abuse their power sadly. Luckily, I don't see this on PC much.

Eh, I give zero craps about other forums. When I speak of moderators, I speak strictly about PC's staff.

I have personal experience of dealing with the wrath of a moderator's hurt ego. It was a sad sight to see.

Yup, when you're a mod. you've gotta keep a clear mind and be fair with everyone.
Yup, this is so true.

I've been on other forums before where an elitist attitude reigns supreme. I remember I almost got in trouble for doing something (I don't remember the exact situation) when there was a veteran member doing the same thing who never heard from staff. If it's one thing I don't like, it's when the entire forum feels like an inner circle you have to fight your way into. I really like it here where it feels a lot more open and new members are welcomed with glee.

A lot of those forums treat post count like a representation of status. I knew a guy on another forum that was promoted and demoted years ago. He has around 13-15,000 posts ATM and is a super moderator now. And I've seen screenshots of that forum's staff lounge having announcement threads devolve into spam pits right before my eyes.

PokéCommunity is full of anything but hypocrites.

On all forums I've been to, moderators have been pretty much fair. :p If they're doing something that you don't think is okay, then you could easily report them to admins.

I've been on so many where the veterans get special treatment and it's a shame. If a new person gets a ban for something, then so should anyone else who performs that punishment.

I've seen way too many communities get ripped apart from bad staff and I always hate it so much. I'm currently the server moderator of a game that I play and I believe that everyone gets a fair say before any action should really be dished out. I like people to voice their opinions as I think that's what makes a community successful.

My experiences with such social calamity have bettered me for handling my own forum. How could I not turn a negative experience into a positive outcome?

From what I hear, back in the day the PokéCommunity itself experienced a lot of this clutter and confusion. That is, until all the other site admins and their staff got demoted and Steve reigned supreme. :3

Anyone like amusement parks? I have a fear of heights so roller coasters don't have me on it very much. In fact, its more of the Final Destination fear thing for me. I don't want to risk the coasters falling apart while I'm on it, which would lead to my death. -_-

I like them, but it's been years since I'd last been to one though. Three, I think… or maybe four. Either way, it was a long time. Can't seem to remember what my last ride was, buuut I'm guessing it could be a roller-coaster. When I'm in amusement parks, I try to never miss out on them, so… yeah.

Yeah I love them!! I go to King's island every summer! It's an amusement park about 45 minutes from my house. :)

I love roller coasters. In fact, I wanted to be a roller coaster designer until I realized that I hated math...

Anyway, I'll ride any roller coaster out there and my local amusement park has four. One of which is the first modern roller coaster to go through an inversion (where the train goes upside-down). It's not a replica either, it's the original coaster itself. It's pretty neat to ride it now and think about how it was an engineering marvel and the scariest coaster around and now some people don't ride it because it's too boring.

Yeah surprisingly it takes a lot of engineering to become a roller coaster designer.
