    | Best Pokémon game | Your opinion?

What is the best Pokémon game in your opinion? I know this might be a difficult question due to the incredible amount of games, but there should be one game that automatically comes to your mind.

    My favorite is:
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon - Explorers of Sky because of the amazing mechanics, storyline and incredible amount of creative content. A game that had eye for detail, and knew how to amaze. I still remember playing it back in 2009 and from the moment I battled Groudon, went to the expedition, saw how everything went in the story I realized this game would be amazing. The mysterious, despite iconic Grovyle will always remain my favorite Pokémon, an amazing game.

My favourite will be always Pokémon Emerald, that was my first Pokémon game (10 years ago, omg I'm so old :o ).

The best is a tough question. In my opinion ORAS and HGSS are tied. They were awesome and I loved to play them all.

The best spin off for me is without question Pokémon Conquest.

Ooooh, there are a lot of games that come to mind, but one has always stood out for me and that is Pokemon Soul Silver. It's a remake of my favorite game and it has the following Pokemon feature.

Plat and HG. I don't know, I just feel attached to these games, I guess mostly for nostalgia reasons, but also for some reason I have the most fun playing these games more than any other game. X is a close second.

Since the OP mentioned a spin-off, I'm assuming those also count. My fav is PMD explorers and every PMD after that. Again I feel attached to them for some reason, I probably just like the idea of mons communicating with each other.

guys plz dont say black 2

    White 2 ;)

Honestly, right now my favorites are OR/AS and B/W2. One of the things (among many others) that I love about OR/AS is how it's actually made me enjoy going around catching Pokémon, thanks to the huge number of Pokémon it has available, between Hidden Pokémon and the Mirage Spots which have practically every non-event legendary Pokémon ever introduced. Plus the DexNav makes it super easy to get Pokemon with Hidden Abilities and Egg Moves, so it's my go-to game when I'm looking to farm for competitive Pokes.

B/W2 introduced the Pokemon World Tournament, which I've spent so much time on. It's great getting to battle all the gym leaders and champions from past games. I also really love how it expanded on the Unova region, and it just feels like a really big region, since there's so much to explore.

So far it's B2/W2 for me in terms of the main games, followed by HG/SS. I'm replaying the gens so perhaps I might change my opinion but it's very unlikely.

It's tough to say, I don't think I can state the best game but my favourites are X, AS and Pearl. :)

    Platinum.

It has just the right balance of difficulty with so much content packed into the one game. That and the addition of new characters, Distortion World and the extra post-game content really made this game stand out for me.

Pokémon Alpha Sapphire. It may be a remake of Pokémon Sapphire but I love the graphics and the storyline. There's features it has that Pokémon Sapphire didn't have such as Pokémon Amie. I'm still trying to adjust from seeing sprites and 3D lol... Why? I don't know.

For a main game, it would have to be Soul Silver. I loved the fact that you could travel to Kanto after you had beaten the main game. I also just really liked the feel of it.

The 4th gen mystery dungeon games were great to. Both the story and the mechanics were great.

B2W2. Even though some of the NPC dialogue was from BW, all of it would have been if it were Pokémon Gray. The fact that it dared to mix up the formula by being a direct sequel instead of a third version, and expanded upon the best story in Pokémon to date (with the exception of Hugh...) while bringing a massive amount of content makes it the best to me so far.

Generation V was fantastic in general for being a filler gen.

As for spin-offs, Conquest. Love that game. I need to play it again!

Black 2 and White 2. You guys know me. So many Pokémon. Lots of content. A villain with a scheme that goes beyond comprehension. I've talked about this game so many times and feel that says all I need to about it.

My Favorite Pokémon Will always be Diamond and Platnum, I´m not sure if it´s because of Nostalgia or it´s because of the Wi-fi Implementations, New Pokémon, new Moves, you name it.
I always had a great time rekting my Friend´s team with Palkia, that was the Good Old days
and Finnaly the Action Replay, when I got it, it was the Essencial Kit to get Arceus, Shiny Pokemon, Darkrai, etc. BEST GIFT EVER.

Conquest and every 4th gen game that's name doesn't begin with "R" (except the JP only ones) were the best games.

Diamond/Pearl: My first games and still my favorites, I will play them over Plat any day.
Platinum: Plat has 1 thing over DP, and it's the Battle Frontier.
HeartGold/SoulSilver: Hands down the best main series game. Every feature people liked in Plat (Frontier), none of the ones they didn't (Poketetch, Super Contests), and cool new ones like the Poketathalon and Pokewalker. Fight me.

PMD Explorers of Time/Darkness: Nope, not explaining why this is here. If you don't already know why, get off your ass and play the thing.
PMD Explorers of Sky: Improved version of the above. Recycling was nice, the bonus Shaymin mission was cute. Moving on.
Battle Revolution: I know this isn't showing up on anyone else's list, so hear me out. Imagine yourself as a 10 year old who loves playing Pokemon with his friends. The graphics in Gen 4 were... boring. However, when you could battle on that rich friend's huge flat screen television, battles became so much more interesting. So much fun, GF NEEDS to remake this ASAP
Pokepark Wii: Again, I was like 10 when this came out and it was fun as heck. Going around smacking people in the mouth with Iron Tail was super fun, and the games provided a bit of challenge, but not so much that it was unbearable. Except possibly the last Obstacle Hop. That was aids.

Conquest: I have played through the entire post-story of this game at least 4 times, and my current isn't even done yet and has over 150 hours logged. That's more than my copy of Black that I never reset has. It was such a huge break from the series that it made a huge impression. It managed to make a game where you played as a freaking warlord into a kid's game, something I assumed not possible. Best non Explorers Spin-off easily.

Games not on the above list that others have mentioned (or not)

Ranger & Sequels: HOW IS IT SO DAMN HARD TO DRAW A CIRCLE AUGHHHHH
The rest of the PMD series: Also very good, but generally topped by Explorers. You can't beat this game Nintendo, but please don't stop trying. PSMD was close, but it was a straight ripoff of Explorers and therefore gets no credit. Like, the void? Pokemon you think is evil is good and pokemon you think is good is evil? Are you even trying to be subtle here Nintendo?
Emerald: Still a very good game, but I can't stand anything prior to gen 4 because the Phys/Special split. And they don't have Gallade.
Anything older than Emerald: Haven't played it
Black/White 2: F I L L E R G E N. At least in BW I almost sympathized with Team Plasma. The PWT was fun, but Gen 5 as a whole was coming off the back of HGSS.
ORAS: Again, not as good as the point of comparison (HGSS). Delta Episode was incredibly unique though.

    BEST OVERALL GAME:
    Explorers of Sky and HeartGold/SoulSilver

Sky is just a shining example of what a Pokemon Spinoff should look and feel like. Riveting story, great gameplay, difficult but not grindy, very little cheese (*glares at G2I*), incredible post-game content (*glares at every game since Conquest*)... This game was a work of art, and it's story is the only game I cried over as a kid, except every time mom took my DS away :(. As I have said elsewhere, I still start to tear up when I hear "I Don't Want to Say Goodbye" or "Through the Sea of Time." 9.5/10, screw off IGN, you filthy haters.

HGSS took what has been described as "the perfect sequel" (GSC), and filled it to the brim with new features, updated graphics, and the like. 2 regions and the ability to rematch every GL topped it all off. The Poketathalon was the best thing to happen to the Pokemon series, and I still do pull out my HG game every so often just to screw around on that. The story was ass, but the originals gave it no support on that score. Also hit a far better difficulty curve then basically any other game, without too much spiking for bosses. 9/10, needs better story.
