Common Pokemon you never used before

For me, suprisingly enough, are Eeveelutions in general! I mean I have an Espeon in one of my documented runs but while he is still alive, he got boxed halfway through the game. I also have some other runs around with an Umbreon and Jolteon in the team but those runs are still ongoing. And for other runs where I find an Eevee I either have it's types covered or I prefer the non-Eevee alternative.

What are some mons everyone seems to use but you've never taken to the end of your game before?

Most of the starter route Pokemon that aren't the bird are this for me. I will be in my cold grave before I use any Normal type early route Pokemon...they're always absolute garbage that have a crap movepool and don't really keep pace with things later in the game, meaning they're either backbenched or require a lot of grinding to be useable. With the exception of Furret they're always ugly as hell, too...I mean, one of the reasons Gen V got on my bad side from the beginning was because it tried to force Patrat AND Lillipup on me from the start.

Asides from Caterpie's line I've never used the starter route bug type either, for the same reason. They're just...not that useful.

Everyone picks Charmander as their Kanto starter while I'm over here with my perpetual Bulbasaur. I don't think I've used the fire lizard once, in any playthrough whatsoever. It just makes me feel a bit cooler y'know. Separation from the mainstream.

I think the eeveelutions too, except for Vaporeon I think. I think I only actually used eeveelutions in Colosseum and XD and in my Gaia monotype runs.

Also Gyarados.

Most of the starting route Normal type Pokemon. I've never used Sentret, Patrat, Bunnelby, Yoongoos or Wooloo. I also haven't used many of the common Pokemon you can fish up/encounter through surfing such as Goldeen, Remoraid, Qwilfish, Barboach, Spheal Basculi and Arrokuda. Many others, too, but I can't think of any other specifics.

garchomp, gengar, and greninja. apparently I have something against mons starting with the letter g! haha

 

[Fairy]

I never get around to using no-evolution Pokemon very often, like Torkoal, Lunatone, Komala, etc. It's not on purpose necessarily they just tend to get overlooked by me. ^^;;;

 

[Brendino]

A lot of people like using pseudo-legendary Pokemon, but aside from Metagross and Hydreigon, I've barely even given the other ones a shot. And I know for a fact that some of the later ones (Goodra, Kommo-o, and Dragapult) I've never ever owned, and have no real plans on ever using them.

- Haven't used legendaries since Gen III
- Right now, I'm training a Golbat to evolve it in a Crobat for the very first time. It's only been a year or so that I realized there was no trading required to get one. smh..

so everyone knows about the typical sinnoh team, right? which has something like staraptor, floatzel, garchomp, etc? i've resolved myself to using as little of those as possible in my platinum run currently. i think i'm only using staraptor at the moment and i'd ideally like it keep it that way, lol

I didn't use a gardevior either until recently.

I dont think I've ever used a Lunatone or Solrock, there's just zero appeal to me to use in my team. I'll also be dead before I'm seen using a Rattata or Raticate!

oh yeah zeostar's post reminds me that i'm not... a big fan of tentacool/cruel and unfortunately will actively avoid it at all cost. u_u haven't even thought once about putting one on any team that i'm planning.
