Exactly this! Text only, but I even turn off it altogether now and then, in case the green or blue doesn't match my theme xD Currently I have text only. Much more neater than the flashy userbars.

It would help if there was actually an image there to look at. :b

The userbars are ... bulky for last of a better word. I just feel like they don't really fit there. Especially not after changing to text or turning them off. So I'm definitely sticking with one of those two options from now on. Besides, I can see who everyone is enough by how their username is. And if they're a supporter that has the green username off then I honestly don't really care; what your username looks doesn't matter it's really how you behave on the forum that does.

^^^ This this this so much. I agree with 100% of what you just said in this statement. I turned mine to just text today and it looks so much better than the userbars.

I have to agree with this as well. It took me a long time to switch over from the userbars to the text ranks, but it looks so much cleaner now than it did. I wouldn't mind putting them back if they were less intrusive, but after being here a little while, you should know what the different colored usernames mean, so you don't really need them anyway.

I'm doomed!

I've never tried any of those options before so I might give it a go now and see what it's like.
 
How can I disable userbars? I know it's a small, particularly finicky reason to hate it, but I just can't stand the inconsistency of number font.
 
I once tested what postbits would look like with disabled userbars, and I do admit it would cause confusion if I came across supporters without green usernames. The text is insanely long though if you're looking at a supporter as opposed to a staff member with a supporter rank on them.

I like it better if supporters are displayed as "CS#" with the number of said tier.
 
I do like the green now :] But right now I disabled user rank image/text altogether. 'Cause I felt like it.
 
Suddenly I come to post here and Tier 5 userbars have small numbers again lol.

In fact, I took screenshots of my profile before and after I reloaded the page and you'll notice the difference:

The number is big in the first shot, like what you're seeing most of the time yet it's small on my end. I think the one displayed in the second one is slightly better designed.

Speaking of userbars, it seems like all the T1-T5 userbars are now consistently having small numbers, which is way better than the big numbers we had before. T6 however gets a lighter shade on their userbars, presumably because they are the "special" tier.
 
I much preferred the bigger numbers myself - they looked kind of cute (if that's possible for text)!

That contest looks like fun, I'd do anything to get another shiny emblem. And the winner can offer a supportership to a member of their choice? Sounds cool.
