Re: Wanting to join PC earlier than 2011

The only huge difference was that there were less features, the skins weren't as pretty, and up until 2010 it wasn't all that big, member base wise. We used to be relatively smaller than Serebii, and in comparison we're bigger than Serebii now. c: But there's definitely more going on over the last few years than back when I first joined. A lot more.

I believe she's referring to Member Fan Clubs, which is exactly how it sounds--members could have fan clubs dedicated to them~

That's what it sounded like, just couldn't be sure. Must have been interesting back in the day, ahaha. I wonder how those would work if they still existed now! Seems like it was a total ego boost for the members who had clubs made for them. xD

I think Member Fan Clubs were still around as late as 2010, but I never recalled seeing them, considering how much of a lurker I was on PC. D:

It would be incredibly interesting if they were brought back, pffffft.

I remember someone (I think my first ever PC pair) made one for me back in 2009. It gave me a bit of an ego boost, but it didn't last very long XD I don't think I'd want another fan club dedicated to me, though; it'd be too weird |D;;

My friend Roselia made mine, and I made hers, literally like 8 years ago. XD They kinda just became chatrooms, and to be honest.. member fanclubs are kinda awkward for that reasons. Though, it'd be amusing to bring them back just to see how they do.

PC seems big but when you get down to it and post a lot it's actually really small.

I think those of us that post a lot, just kinda get used to the size. In the way of a typical forum, it's not what you'd call small. Unless you compare it to GameFAQs, or Mangafox or something of the sort. Those are ridiculous, though..

PC's much larger than the forum I've been on these past two years, that's for sure XD But it doesn't feel too big. I'll see a lot of the same members posting in the sections and threads I post in a lot, so it isn't like you don't really know who's who when posting around.

Exactly, it seems like a lot but since people tend to stick to their own sections, you get used to everyone you see around. I mean even if you post in lots of places like ne you end up knowing most people.

Yeeahh, I recognize a lot of people, unless they hangout in RP or ROM hacking. .w.;

Take out all the ROM Hackers and the forum would be significantly smaller.
Hahahah, I was thinking the same thing when I was typing my last post earlier.

Though, ROM hacking encourages people to join and maybe stick around and contribute a lot, so good on it.

You can use the analogy that Pokecommunity is like a decently sized big city.

Sure it's not the biggest (like NYC), but when you first move to the city (join the Forum) from a small town, it can be kind of intimidating. But you get used to it as time goes by.

Two years ago I moved from a small town with a population of just over 6,000 to the Kansas City Metro area that has a population of over 2,000,000. There are parts of town that I know very well, like where I live and work, and a couple of the shopping districts, Been downtown a few times, don't know it very well, and then there are area's that I have never been, or only been once and I feel out of place there.

The different area's of the city could be compared to different sections of the forums.

Aaah yeah, Kansas is definitely a change from a small town. I've lived here all my life, so I have no idea what a small town is like, but as busy as Kansas is, it's no where near a big city like NY or LA. Though, I imagine it still seems huge in comparison to some. I guess the same thing can be said about forums. owo; PC did seem way bigger before I got more involved again.

What part of Kansas do you live in?

EDIT: Nevermind, I recognize your old username, and I've asked that before. iirc live in the same county.

We've always lived in a few small towns. I lived in North Anson, Maine at the time. I was there for most of my life until moving to a few bigger towns as we moved a lot. North Anson was the sub town of Anson, Maine, and it wasn't very popular either. I still have a ton of memories living in our old house. We moved to Arizona because the climate was better for my dad and his physical complications.

Hahaha, aaah yeah, I remember us talking about that a few years ago. Still livin' in the same place as I was before. Though, I think when we last spoke, we didn't live in the same county? I'm in Johnson. o-o
