PC's slowly going rainbow. The skittle infestation begins.

a while back i got drunk and made a plugin that randomises peoples' username colours in the staff forum. this is more serious than you could ever know.

Isn't PC already a rainbow? XD Still, rainbows are awesome. <3

But anyway, I can't wait to see what the new supporter colors are. :O I think the crystal blue will look really pretty. :3 It's so weird not having the green name though, or looking regular. XD

I can confirm this. Suddenly staff ranks were gone overnight.

Spoiler:

It took me a bit. I was like "boy there are a LOT of mods on" haha /dumb

Haha, don't confuse the users more than they already are

You know, now that I've looked at postbits clearly, supporters without a userbar feel very "incomplete". I'd imagine people unfamiliar with the donation system would be asking questions at us on what the different colored italic usernames mean.

noooooo
i understand the importance of clarity but i dont want userbars it looks so clean rn
i'd rather have a little supporter rank field in the postbit or something? or a lil badge with hover text saying "pc supporter ___ tier/rank"

Maybe so...I'm grateful for the color change the green was pretty meh compaired to the prior blue and this. Kind of a shamw the little title bars are gone. We could've had Lugia, Ho-oh and Garantina themed ones

It'd be kind of hard for new members to identify what all these colors mean, so... I think user-bars (or anything else of the sort) are needed to help ease it up for them a little. ):

This was why I like userbars, it would make it easier for new members to identify what the colored italics mean. Having staff members as the only ones with userbars at present means I'm going to be expecting people new to the forums to be asking me questions on what my blue italics are supposed to mean only to tell them it's tied to donations. Doesn't help the grey color on Silver and Platinum names is too similar to the regular members on certain skins, the only notable distinguishment being italics.

If I were to imagine ideal new userbars for supporters right now, I think they'll most likely be the same color as the name of the member and then, where the number used to be on the old userbars, have a letter that represents that tier, like "S" for Silver, "G" for Gold, "C" for Crystal and "P" for "Platinum".

Same would also go for the mini supporter tags staff had attached to their userbars if they had supporter on their account. Like in my case, I'd have "PC Supporter C" on mine if it were to be a thing. It's basically the lack of supporter userbars at present that made me have to switch to text rank viewing on postbits just so everything doesn't look inconsistent.

ahhh i just think there has to be a better indicator :( userbars are so chunky and text is too much idk. i was thinking it could be hovertext over username but the aka is there i dunnooo

Hovering over usernames in a postbit already has "AKA (insert names here)", so yeah I get what you mean at the end there.

Alternatively, we could have a legend for the Who's Online. Like underneath it, it could say what each name colour means.

ie: [supporter]Supporter[/supporter], Moderator, Super Moderator, Staff Admin

Wouldn't have to be big. (And obviously it would be, you know, actually up-to-date instead of showing the old supporter colour.) But it means people don't necessarily have to go searching to see what a username colour means, especially for colours that wouldn't show up on the staff page.

ahh i'd like that. and i would hope people would actually looks at it. like apparently i tend to overestimate the observational powers of people on the internet most of the time? and i would think that being there would be enough? but idk people seem to think EXTREME OBVIOUSNESS IS BEST

also also you would think if staff had userbars and supporters didn't there wouldn't be an issue? right??

The problem there is, it doesn't seem to show up on certain skins.
