My legs feel like jelly after exercise.

Maybe it'll stop feeling like that once I get used to it.

it's definitely the right weather for BBQs. i could go for one myself... setting yourself on fire might not be the best way to beat the heat though, lol

honestly this weather makes me feel like going on a trip somewhere. but i've no money and nobody to visit :/

Depends on how well you work out your legs. I've been working out since last August and if I train them well, my legs still feel like jelly afterwards. Can't walk up or down stairs at all :/

I'm actually at work right now, and it's been pretty slow. I have been sleeping so much lately because my body is trying to regain the loss of sleep from last weekend's convention. Hopefully I'll be back to normal.

holy shit 15,000 posts

Is it possible that more people can be cross-trained on sandwiches, perhaps? I know I'm probably just speaking out of ignorance here, but back when I worked at theme parks (especially in restaurants), everyone essentially was cross-trained in multiple stations so that even if one person called in from work, everyone would still know what to do.

It's really only a problem when cooks call in from work because other cooks have to take over, and this is only a bigger problem when you have a small kitchen staff, so people would have to rely on front-line peeps who are trained on kitchen material, which is not too common to find, haha. u_u
We do cross-train, especially for people who are mid-shift because no on has a set location it's just whatever needs to be done. But for morning shift it's just easier to have someone who is trained specifically in sandwich station. They're the people who can get out sandwiches the most. Just like how there are people who end up being masters at drinks, really good at taking orders in drive-thru etc. Eventually you get a set group of people who are really good at their spot in morning shift that it's 1. easier for the manager to write their schedules, and 2. it's just easier in the morning to know where everyone is going to be.

Also morning sandwich station can actually get really difficult. So even if someone knows sandwiches we can't just thrown them on it they would probably have an anxiety attack if they haven't been taught to deal with the stress of being sandwich person. :/

Because we're still a new store we really really need to try to do good so costumers will come back, you know? Our first two weeks or so were a mess so I bet we already lost potential costumers in those two weeks we really don't need to lose more haha. So rather than being difficult and putting someone new on sandwiches (in which our sandwich person would have to probably be there anyways to teach them) just put him on sandwiches on those days and when we get a new person train him speficially in sandwiches and become our new sandwich person.

That said though me and the assistant manager bounced between being the sandwich persontoday because our sandwich person actually quit. Saw it coming, but eh i really hope this doesn't mean more night shifts. @_@;

I'm sorry if none of this makes sense. I'm tired and I should nap but the point is yes. We do cross-train. But even though we do cross-train no one other than our old sandwich person has the experience to be morning sandwich person (other than us managers) and we don't have the budget or make enough money to have an extra person on clock to train someone specifically on sandwiches until hire someone in which their first three-four days don't count toards the budget so they'll be trained for the station during those four days.

So much stress for a little sandwich? I mean I've heard that these kinds of service supposedly are really hard, but it sounds like it is even harder than I had imagined. I have hugh respect for people who can keep their cool when having to deal with these kinds of stuff, especially since I know, that I couldn't handle such a situation. :)

One sandwich is easy. What's difficult is when you have food coming in from both drive-thru and eat-in and they're orders like... four different kinds of sandwiches or a bunch of wraps and two bagels with cream cheese and don't forget the many many orders of hashbrowns. Then you just want to cry. We've had plenty of people quit because they couldn't handle the stress of so many things coming in at once.

poor bucket of ice over achromatic it's ok we'll keep you cool

Honestly the only real reason anyone ever did the Ice Bucket Challenge is so they could nominate a buncha chumps, most people probably didn't even know what it was going towards. They tried to get me to do it once, that failed spectacularly.

Also hi, I'm here now. I had some money to spend so I donated $5.

In the UK it was something like 29-37 degrees today. Yeah, a wide range of temperatures! But that is set to decrease.

Berlin was 26 today, but will hit 40 by Friday apparently. Looking forward to beach shenanigans! :)

Oh my goodness, last night while I was asleep I head such gigantic thunder booming around 2:30 AM. It was not pretty, and it definitely caught my ears.

Good thing today was way nicer.
