Well, the incentive isn't to boost activity for the sake of it. Like any community event, online or not, it brings people together. It gives members a nice opportunity to interact and build friendships through teamwork, which might not otherwise happen. It's fun!
 
yeah, sometimes it's easier to get together and make friends when you're half-forced to, honestly ahaha. well, when you have a good excuse to as opposed to having to find your own reasons!

To be honest, I still don't understand this get-together at all.

At glance, it sounds like just that, but apparently it's some Aloan roleplay thing where you pick teams? I've read the topic and I still don't get it.
These kind of things just do not compute with me.

It's not really a roleplaying kind of thing, it's more like a friendly competition. The Tapu Tribes are just teams that everyone who participates is split into. Alola is just the theme this year. Last year it was Harry Potter-style houses except with our own made up 4 Pokemon houses, and the year before that it was by main series region. Hasn't always been done in a team competition format though iirc.

Sometimes ya gotta just not think too hard about it and jump in and have fun with it. But nobody's obligated to participate in the Get-Together.

There's a bunch of different events to choose from in the section for the GT. People can get points for participating in/doing well in them, and the team/tribe with the most points at the end is the "winner".

I don't really remember how long the Get-Together lasts for, but I'm pretty sure it's at least til August 1st.

it?s been like that up here too, sometimes rains hard

supposed to be like that all week really

then meanwhile half of the states in the western half of the country have literally been on fire
