It's below freezing here but I doubt there'll be any precipitation soon, according to my weather.

The year I was a senior, I had 0 snow days. 0. I was really pissed off about that.

While y'all up north have snow days, we have "Hurricane days", though those are less common and usually replace a day off from school. We had one my first grade year, several my fourth grade year, one my fifth grade year, one my eighth grade year (on the second day of school nonetheless), and one my senior year (on the fifth day of school). It's nice to get off from school due to natural disasters, but not so nice when they actually are affecting you and you lose power.

I think the same school year I mentioned we actually had first day of the school cancelled because of Hurricane Irene.

We usually have a couple snow days a year. the worst was probably my eight grade year when we had six of them. Yeah, school got out a little late that summer.

That's at least a good thing I've heard about snow days is that if you go a school year without using any up, you get to get out earlier in June as well.

We had this at my old school but with storm days. We were given 2 each year and if neither were used by May, we got out 2 days earlier! It was really nice because we never seemed to use them haha.

My high school abused closings due to snow and storms, so we never got out a few days early at the end of the year. xD;

What are snow days? xD /lives in California

We have school no matter the weather. xD We even had college classes under a tornado warning one time a few years ago xD

There are some schools around here that absolutely refuse to close down. I remember one incident where it was an extremely bad blizzard, like almost every road was blocked because of car accidents, and there was one school district that still had classes going on. I would hate to be in that school. XD

Because I live in a naturally hot climate, we don't get schools closing due to snow. However, there are cases where schools in Australia have to close due to other natural disasters like tropical cyclones and bushfires.

And what's with all these deleted posts I'm seeing saying "double posts". I'm guessing PC is lagging again?

Well, I did double post accidentally when I was posting when PC is still not getting used to the new server... and I thought my internet was lagging until I find out others got one too. I hope PC's server will get better that everyone don't double post accidentally anymore.

Here in Kentucky, we normally get around 3-5 days each year for snow days. It honestly depends where you live. If your school is more secluded in the country then if there is a little snow on the ground then school will be called off. In northern Kentucky though, school is barely every called off because we are more urban. Love snow days! Snow is beautiful but I absolutely ate the cold.

Where I live, it snows quite randomly. Normally, it'd snow around December to January. But in New York, it wouldn't be snowing until late March or early April. Sometimes even May. I'm a big fan of snowy weather, though! When it snows, you get to have snowball fights and build snowmen (well, I don't do any of that anymore, but my sister—she does!), schools are guaranteed to be shut down, and if you have a job to attend, you have an excellent reason not to go there. (: Only thing that I don't like about snowy days is that if you're not prepared, you could end up being stranded. If you get yourself stuck somewhere, then you're in big trouble. I once got my foot trapped into a big pile of snow, somehow, and it took me about ten to fifteen minutes just to get out.

I just realized that I've probably been pretty pecimistic about the snow where I live.

I really like the snow. I get to have snowball fights, go skiing, sledding, and do all sorts of crazy things. It's just driving that I don't like. It can get pretty scary sometimes, but luckily I've avoided accidents.

I never witnessed snow of my life. It doesn't snow where I live and not even when I go visit my family in Florida. Wish I could see it myself and not on TV as usual.

Same with me, except the fact that I'm in tropical area. But even though I didn't see the real snow yet, I'm quite satisfied with where I am now, there are sunny weather, windy weather and rains (and not to mention thundery ones as well) along the way in my country.

Now you know how I feel :( sometimes it just sucks to live in Florida where it's always warm when it's humid and when it does get cold it's always dry.

Visit central California, head east to the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Bam! Snow.
