Downloading this has been my biggest issue, haha. The other night it took 7 hours for my X version to download from the eshop because my internet kept lagging so much.

I can normally get up to at least 1.3MB/s for download speed, which is very good in it's own right. But lately, the download speed hasn't been that good, somewhere around the 400kb/s - 600kb/s area. And to be quite honest, I only download something maybe once every 2-5 weeks.

My download speed tends to be in the 50kbs-300kbs range. It's pretty pathetic. I want to punch the Time Warner Cable logo right in the eye.
Wow, that's Time Warner?! You shouldn't be getting speeds like that unless you're paying for those speeds. 50kbps is dial-up speeds, but anything above that is super-slow DSL speeds.

And suddenly tech stuff gets thrown in here again... oh well.

But yeah, I do have smooth internet speeds. The only lagging I ever get is probably PC itself.

I'm glad we are at tech talk now. As much as I like to discuss food which is usually the topic, it makes me really hungry :c

How much tech talk could a tech talk talk if a tech talk could talk tech talk.

Idek, but we are still talking about it for over 2 hours now :D

...such an accomplishment!

Maybe until someone brings up the topic of food. or the weather. I don't really know much about technology so i don't really have a place in the current conversation haha. Only that my internet sucks but i said that on the last page. Also my laptop is over three years old and is still running ... fairly smoothly. Though it has a band-aid on it aha.

Wow 3 years and still running great? Mine in barely over a year old and is already experiencing so many problems that I am having to consider buying a new one soon. Just 3 days ago, my battery died and now I can't use it unless plugged in and that is just one of the many issues that I am experiencing.

Well.. not running great but running fairly well. My battery doesn't even last five-ten minutes anymore so it always has to be plugged in. The fan can get stupidly loud as well. But I'm not really having many problems other than those like freezing or anything. Maybe some lag from time to time but rebooting it so it had space again really helped it out.

I got a new laptop for graduation and it's working great. Well, I've never had another laptop to compare it to, so I don't know how it compares to others. By the sounds of it from your stories, it's working great.

Tech discussion. I love you DCC. <3

Time Warner's internet here in my area is just the absolute worst. Been through random outages here, with the last outage I went through last week was because "my modem needed to be updated" when really...I could have done it myself if they had told me in advance instead of waiting for them (or shutting off my internet for that occasion >_>).

I have a desktop right now, it's convenient but I'm wanting a laptop more so I can carry it around and watch TV on the big screen while browsing the internet. :P

I have a fairly high-end laptop bought in Summer '12, though if this one dies off I might go for a desktop and tablet (Not until I probably graduate from college, mind you)

Honestly, I haven't been fond of tablets myself. I mean, they have so much portability that I could just take...anywhere, but idk...I feel like there's something missing when I'm using mine (which is gathering dust right now because I'm using the desktop more).

I'm a little intrigued by the new Microsoft Surface that's coming out next week. I tested it out at Staples the other day and I was like

I'm gonna be sad ten years from now when all we have are iPhone 42s and tables and Google glasses and all this portable media and everything you do will be recorded automatically and posted online and nothing will be private anymore.
It'll be similar to the book 1984, if you've ever read that. D:

I don't know if it'll go to that much of an extreme, but it very well could with future generations. As they become more dependent on technology, and feel the need to share everything online. Heck, there might even be a website called "Mylife" or something that instead of status updates, will just let people see what you see through your google glasses or something. Hopefully people will remember to turn their glasses off when they go to the bathroom. :P
