Deacon Masterson

Deacon was having a nice lunch with Tulip, his new girlfriend when all of a sudden he saw certain people coming into the shop. "Dang it, it's the police. That's right, they're mad at us..." Deacon thought to himself. He listened and waited as they surrounded him. Deacon seemed to have forgotten he had a warrant out for his arrest when he last left the town, and now that he was back it did not take long for the police to find him. As the two love birds chatted in the diner, the police were carefully positioning themselves around them. They had learned from last encounter and had decided on a calm first approach, but also were ready for lethal action if needed. Across the street, SWAT snipers were in position as one of the police force's lieutenants casually walked into the diner. The middle aged woman with long dark hair walked up to the pair and said in a stern voice as she held up her badge, "Deacon Masterson, you are under arrest for assaulting officers of the law and association and aiding terrorists. I know about your powers and my men are ready to use lethal force if required against you and your pokemon if you resist." She then looked over at Tulip and added, "You also would not want her or others caught in the crossfire and killed so please come quietly and calmly." The sounds of a helicopter could be heard approaching and looking outside there was a dozen or so officers looking like they were about to go to war. Several Ice and water Pokémon were seen being deployed from their pokeballs, ready to attack as the other diners or restaurant employees quickly fled out the front doors. Someone had informed the police on Deacon's dragon type…

Deacon waited casually as the whole city's police force was threatening him all at the same time. It amused him. Just then when Deacon's C-gear was on a voice came on it. Deacon recognized the voice as Brian's, but left it on and put the C-gear on the table so the whole police force could hear. Brian under his new tone was undetectable for the most part and made it sound like the rest of the hybrid group was about to attack the police. "Hahaha" He tried to sound like an evil psychopath, "You don't have a clue how much backup we have surrounding YOU!" He laughed again, trying to mask his voice as best as possible. "I would let Deacon go or this is going to get VERY ugly for you." After the call ended the police seemed to be hesitant. Deacon used this opportunity to make his move. Deacon quickly stood up and maneuvered behind the lieutenant woman lightning fast, grabbing hold of her so she couldn't escape and had his fist charged with dark energy ready to kill her if necessary. "Don't move!! Any of you out there, police!! Unless you want your esteemed lieutenant of the police to meet an unfortunate end!!" Deacon shouted out to them in anger. He was bluffing, but he couldn't afford to not take risks at the time. The police froze, not wanting their captain to die. Deacon turned his head to Tulip. "Tulip, get out of here to the others please. If you got injured or killed I don't know what I'd do with myself..." Deacon said to her. He waited till she was gone, and the police didn't make any moves to try and stop her from fleeing the scene since she wasn't a target. Deacon knew very well he could die now, but now was the time to take risks. Deacon picked up his C-gear carefully and made a one-way call to the person who hacked his C-gear the first several times, tracing the hacking back to the original person using his intellectual and hacking skills. Deacon then made a stern voice to the person on the other end who couldn't respond. "Look, I don't know who you are, or why you are trying to use the police to do your job, but this must be a joke. You obviously want me dead or captured, and I'm afraid that's not going to happen. In fact, you have made yourself my number one enemy now. I can't tell where your base is or where you are, but mark my words. I am Deacon Masterson of the Village of Dragons. I will find you, and I WILL end you." Deacon put his voice into the call. Once he made sure the person on the other end got the message, Deacon threw the C-gear into the air with one hand while still having a hold of the lieutenant police officer and shot a Dragon Pulse into the air, destroying it into many pieces. Deacon then turned back to the police.

Deacon made a loud whistle that seemed odd to the police force. A couple minutes later Deacon's Hydreigon, Salamence, Altaria, Goodra, Garchomp, and Dragalge had all appeared and placed THEIR SELVES around the police. The police couldn't take it any longer and began to fire bullets at Deacon. Deacon simultaneously gave the signal to his Pokemon. At once they all released their own Dragon attacks around the police, not directly hitting any of them, but startling each one of them. Deacon used this opportunity to make his move. He jumped into the air as the first bullets were fired, dodging them. The lieutenant police officer on the ground was shot multiple times by her own police force as she fell to the ground, dead. "You FOOLS!! You are so blinded by your anger and fear for something you can't understand that you take the life of your own higher up!! Some day you may understand that us hybrids aren't the target, but that Team Rocket is!! Shadow already told you this once before, but don't hate the player, hate the game!! If you want to stop us from popping up around and causing trouble, which we don't intend, aim your attacks against Team Rocket and not us!! We are just trying to co-exist with you in this world peacefully, but you're making it really hard!! One day you may be able to understand this, but right now you are blinded by your emotions!!" Deacon said this as he landed from the air.

While the police were caught off guard once again Deacon made his third move. "You may know I am a dragon, but I bet you didn't know I'm part Flying type now. Let me enlighten you in the freedom of the skies!!" Deacon shouted to them. (Cue "Black Betty" music here). The police and all the Pokemon fired at Deacon again, but he jumped out the glass as it broke and dodged each and every one of their attacks using Acrobatics, skillfully jumping from random objects on the ground, to roofs, and other places. Deacon made his fourth and final move. While still dodging all of their firepower like a superhuman gymnastic person, he proceeded to continue using Acrobatics and jumped from each police officer knocking them unconscious with a blow on the head like a Leap Frog sort of game. Deacon repeated this process as bullets and firepower was fired at him constantly while he kept dodging it until every single police officer that had been in the area fell to their knees, then face planted, unconscious. Deacon landed skillfully on the edge of the top of a building, bowing after finishing his fighting dance performance. The only thing that left to worry about now was the helicopter. Deacon used his newly acquired wings to fly into the air and dodged the first missile it shot at him. After that he flew above it and then dived down at a lightning speed using the move Fly for the first time in combat to slice the tail of the chopper. The helicopter fell to the ground and crashed, both police officers uninjured as it skidded to a halt. Deacon had skillfully taken down the entire Golden Rod city police task force using his newly acquired Flying type ability and nothing else.

Deacon walked around the unconscious bodies, and wrote a note on the sidewalk using his powers to permanently engrave it. "This is Deacon Masterson, member of the hybrids. First off I am sorry your lieutenant is dead now, but that is your own fault. Maybe once you guys wake up you will try to find a new one or promote someone to take her place. She was a nice woman and I'm sorry she died at your hands. Secondly, I am gone now. You won't find me or my friends, as we aren't visiting this city anymore. It's a shame that it has to be this way, but you forced our hands. The hybrids were created by Team Rocket and a man named Giovanni who leads it. If you truly want to stop the problems that are arising in the city, focus your force on taking THEM out. Do whatever it takes to make sure they are defeated and destroyed. I can assure you that we were all once normal people like you guys before Team Rocket captured each and every one of us and made us into this half human half Pokemon freaks. They are responsible for all of this, and ultimately everything we've done to try and survive. And we ARE still normal people just like you, even with our new abilities. I hope one day the city will make an effort to drive Team Rocket from their confines and realize they are responsible for this. Also, the person responsible for giving you the false intel that we should be arrested is the one who hacked my C-gear on multiple occasions. I can't give you a specific name, because I don't know of them. But keep vigilante. If something comes up into your systems that doesn't seem like it belongs, trace it back to them, hack them, do whatever it takes to take that person down. I was not truly wanted for arrest until that technologist gave you the false intel into your systems that I was or my friends were. I hope one day we can look together back at this and welcome each other with open arms. Yes, I see this world. Not a world in which humans and hybrids are separated. Not a world in which humans and Pokemon are separated. But a world in which we all get along together as one entity of friendship. Yes, I can see it now. A world where all of us will walk towards the future together, hand in hand." Deacon finished engraving the note into the cement using Dark Pulse and Dragon Pulse. It took up the whole street and was unable to be removed unless the cement were to be taken off and redone. The message could also be seen from a good distance away.

Deacon made a final whistle to his Dragon Pokemon who all fled the scene and went back to the edge of the forest where the others were. Deacon followed his Dragon Pokemon. No, his friends back until they had arrived back where the rest of the group was. Deacon sighed and sat on a stump. He looked at Tulip who was already there. "Tulip... I'm sorry you got dragged into this. I never want you to be in danger like that again... Hopefully this is the last time something like this happens." Deacon said. But deep down inside, in the confines of Deacon's being, he knew it wouldn't be the last time. This would be the beginning of many hard fought battles to contribute to the hybrids' acceptance back into society as a whole. There was a storm a coming, and Deacon knew it.

Deacon heard Tulip talk from earlier. "I Don't know if you know this but Darren was the first guy I was with in the group... we kinda had a fight... Then he died... I never got to say sorry... Oh sorry thats not good conversation." "Well I asked you a question.... Wanna ask me one?" she said smiling at him. After formulating his thoughts and edging out the ones about almost dying, he responded. "I didn't know that. That's interesting, and sad at the same time. I'm sorry you didn't get to apologize or say goodbye, Darren was my friend too. Granted we didn't know each other for long, but he did seem like a nice guy. That is fine for conversation, don't worry about it. Sure, I will ask you a question now. Since you asked me about my past, why don't you tell me about yours? Only if that's okay with you though. I don't want to step on any loose branches here." Deacon said back to Tulip. He put his head in his hands while sitting on the stump and listened to her at the edge of the forest.

One minute she was having a nice dinner with Deacon, then bam! Cops, Police, Dragons, Forrest it all happened so quickly. Tulip just sat there, unresponsive to what was going on. When she finally snapped back into reality Deacon was taking to her.

"My past? Theres not really much to tell. I was born for Team Rockets experiment. Um they tested on me and made me a grass and fairy hybrid. But one of the scientists, he let me go. So I escaped, and I was probably 8 years old. I lived in the forrest for a little while and bonded with the Pokemon but then I knew I wanted a human life. So I went to this mansion and um my family they adopted me. Then I had a normal life. I finished school, I got my first Pokemon. I had so many good times and I got whatever I wanted. I was kinda spoiled you could say. Um. I went to stay with my boyfriend at the time, Volkner, his parents had a home in Celadon city. So I was there with him and then looters attacked their house. I didn't want to see them all get killed so I used my powers. Volkners dad was so upset and horrified to find out I was a hybrid that he said he would call th police if i didn't leave. SO I left. I ran all the way into Saffron city. Thats when I met Arryn. Then the rest of them. The rest isnt that much fun. So yeah. Thats about it." she said softly, playing with her pearl necklace. It was still in tact, and beautiful just like the first day she met Arryn.

"Sorry if I blacked out. Ever since I came back from Team rocket I haven't been able to deal with big situations like that as well. Orchid was apart of me and without her, Im better but Im not as strong. Emotionally or Physically. Im working on it." she said, showing little emotion. She was calm though.

She looked at Deacon and smiled.

Gray
Pokemon: None
Type: Electric, Fighting
Mood: Irritable

As we walked through the mountain, Val kept in front of me.

"I must admit, I'm curious. I don't understand why you allow some of the hybrids in your group to stay. That stupid Dark/Dragon idiot? The Poison type slutty dirt clod? If it were up to me, I'd kill them."

"Hmph, I wonder that myself. I usually keep to myself because I honestly don't like them. You might be wondering "Why are you with them if you don't like them?" Well, You could say that being alone gets boring." I told her as we continued through the mountain.

The new girl showed an area the was filled with wild life. We seen fish Pokemon, water Pokemon. Golems, Aggrons, and some smaller Pokemon like Geodude and Aron. It was a sight to behold. I never really cared of anything's looks, but the whole view of this cavern seemed to all go very well.

As we proceeded, to the corner of my eye, I could feel the eyes of a Pokemon, staring me down. I turned slightly only to glance a look, and an Aggron was glaring at me. It wasn't like the other Aggron or Pokemon as it remained isolated, keeping to itself. I didn't know if it was the strongest or not, but this Pokemon gave off a different feel than the rest.

"Hmph. If you ever get tired of them, but don't want to risk the anger of others by being the one with their blood on your hands, just call on me." Val walked the rest of the way in silence. They reached a cavern that would probably have most tree-huggers 'ooh'ing and 'ahh'ing. She couldn't care less how it look. What caught her attention were the Pokemon. Val had never taken more than three Pokemon with her at a time, but perhaps it was time to begin building up to a full team of six. This cavern seemed to hold many Rock or Ground types, which wasn't surprising as it was...well, a cave. But that wasn't currently what Val was looking for. Casting a glance in Gray's direction to check and make sure that he was doing alright, she then turned to walk over to the other girl, crossing her arms over her chest. "Do you know a place on this mountain I can find a powerful Flying type that is large enough to carry me?" While awaiting a reply, she let her gaze wander around the cavern, trying to find any Pokemon that caught her eye.

Harvey Scott

"Because I am hunting him as well, but I prefer him alive. I know of your connections to him so I doubt you want him dead just yet. Do you not think after all this time you deserve an explanation from him?" replied the man as he stopped in from of Phoena. "I am a busy man and I have no issues enlisting help if it helps meet my end goals. Now…" continued the man before suddenly cutting off.

The man went silent as he watched news video feeds of the one Hybrid's stunt in the city. Harvey refrained from letting out a laugh. Perfect, these idiots would soon have the entire world crying for their heads. If this continued to progress like this he could just kill them and instantly become the world's richest hero. Perhaps the main plan wouldn't be needed, perhaps the Hybrids were the key to his goal.

Looking back at the woman his voice was filled with a smug tone, "Sorry about that had an interesting news feed I needed to see. I fear recent developments now require my attention. If you fail to take down Shadow alone I have sent you contact information you can use to reach me if you want to cooperate." The man then turned around and walked off as a strange aircraft landed several hundred feet away.

Deacon's resistance would not be ignored, and the scene was already being swarmed with the local media. The media was spun with ease focusing on the loss of life of the new mother and rising police officer: Verissa Swan. The media labelled her a hero who gave her own life to try in peacefully bring in a dangerous criminal in order to protect the innocent people of the city from his vicious assault. How he used her body as a shield against her own officers when he launched his violent response to her peaceful approach request for him to turn himself in. The message was also played, but Deacon's words would not work as he had hoped. His words were being twisted into people claiming it was a sick mockery of the life he took, and the destruction he caused. It did focus some of the people's rage and questions onto Team Rocket, and the mysterious voice, but the majority of it would stay on Deacon. Pictures of collateral damage to cars, and the wounded police force filled the cameras. Deacon had tried to make his attacks just disable his attackers, but they were not designed for that. All the officers had wounds ranging from minor to severe due to the powerful blasts. The fear and hopelessness against such a criminal was quickly spreading through the city like a wild fire, a fire some could use to their advantage.

Harvey smiled ear to ear as he boarded his Wraith transport. As the aircraft took off holoscreens appeared in front of him. Fear was his new weapon now, fear of the Hybrids would drive him to his goals. The Hybrids would be forced to hide or be exterminated. People like him would be welcomed with open arms like saviors of mankind. Poor kid was trying to direct people's attention at him, but the little fool was trying to fight Harvey on his terrain. A battle that kid would never win. Opening up a secure transmission channel Harvey said, "Associates... Looks like these Hybrids are proving more valuable to our plans than I originally estimated. I am changing my approach, and Doctor I want you ready with a solution when the world asks for a way to kill these monsters. Voice looks like we are already on the same page, but we need to get this story world wide..." Now he just needed Team Rocket to move the city and exploit the weakness that Deacon had created with his attack on the now humiliated and demoralized police force...

Deacon Masterson

Deacon listened to Tulip as he heard sirens far away in the distance. He knew already the people were reacting to his struggle to survive. Knowing the ignorance of the media, the citizens, and the police force they would all be angry with him, his friends, but also Team Rocket and the mysterious man. While Deacon and his friends were now wanted more than ever, Deacon grinned as he had successfully managed to pin their anger towards Team Rocket as well. Even if him and his friends were all killed and captured in the end, if Team Rocket was taken down as well then it would still be a win. Deacon knew they were probably enraged at him for fighting back, but technically he had never killed any of them. It was the cops' fault for shooting at their own lieutenant and not even trying to negotiate with Deacon. After that Deacon had simply knocked out the entire police force one by one, never injuring or killing any of them. People were still blind as bats though and ignorant too. They would find one way to be mad at Deacon and his friends, one way or another. Deacon sighed while listening to Tulip. He was sad for them because he knew it wasn't his fault, it was theirs. Deacon turned his head from his own thoughts and got away from zoning out as he listened to someone more important in his life now.

"Looks like you've been through a lot as well. This world fears us if we're hybrids, but acts like we're just like them if they haven't seen our powers. It's sad really, that they can't learn to accept us. I feel bad for you that Volkner's parents kicked you out since you were a hybrid. That's a form of discrimination which is totally uncalled for, if a new kind at that. I'm also sorry that you haven't been able to keep a boyfriend. I promise you I won't get hurt or killed, and I'll be yours forever. I'll protect you and myself and do whatever it takes to stay alive, so you don't get sad again. I'm also sorry that I wasn't able to protect Darren from getting killed. I was with him at the time, and we were ambushed by an evil Team Rocket hybrid named Jack Frost. I tried to fight with Darren and help him survive, but Jack froze me in ice and I had to watch as my first friend in a long time was killed. I'm sorry... I wasn't strong enough to save him.... It's all my fault..." Deacon said to Tulip. A couple tears went down his eyes and he wiped them off with his hand. He then looked at her, stood up, and walked over to her, hugging Tulip and kissing her on the lips again. He backed out and looked at her. "I love you, Tulip. I won't ever let you get hurt." Deacon said to her. He then walked back to his stump and sat down, continuing to listen to her.

"It's fine. I wouldn't expect you to have to deal with it. It's my fault that the police showed up in the first place. If I had remembered we weren't welcome there, then I would have avoided taking you into town. My goal right now is to keep you, myself, and my other friends in this group out of danger as much as possible and protect you guys with my life. You guys are pretty much the only people I have left in my life... Don't worry about getting stronger or working on it. You will make it in your own time and I'll be right there with you along the way." Deacon said back to her. Deacon's six Pokemon friends were listening to his conversation at the time and all of them looked protective and sad at the same time. Sad that Deacon was almost killed, but protective at the same time because of it. They each went off to do their own things in the edge of the forest to give Deacon some space.

Pokemon
Spoiler:

"What can we do to get them out of there without being seen ourselves or endangering anyone?"

Just then Brian's c-gear rang with the latest news about Deacon. Brian stared with disbelief at the screen. "He did what!?" Brian glared at the screen, stopping in his tracks. "Apparently Deacon thought it was a smart idea to use a police officer as a human shield, then attacked the police officers!"

Why does everyone in this group resort to violence? Brian wondered as he searched through the news pages. "Oh look he left them a nice note too, I'm sure a heartfelt apology drilled into their street will help them all understand the problem." He was being sarcastic, something he does when he is annoyed.

"Wait a second, if that hacker I saw in my dreams turned out to be real then that girl probably is too!" Brian was starting to think those dreams were more than just normal dreams. He searched his c-gear for any caves nearby, not knowing where he was didn't help but he found a cave that looked like the one is his dream and guessed roughly what direction it was in. "Sorry Rex but I've got to go help Shadow," he said not bothering to explain. "Its urgent, they could already be in trouble! Take care of sylveon and fennekin for me, they can't fly on pidgeotto with me, he can't carry all that weight." He ran over and hugged Rex and then he hopped on pidgeotto's back, dreading the fact he was going to have to fly. He pointed in a direction and told pidgeotto "Fly that way until you see snow, then I'll tell you where to go from there."

Brian's stomach churned as pidgeotto flew higher than he expected. Brian closed his eyes and tried to remember specifics from his dream. The girl had blue hair, she looked like she was following Shadow. Shadow was flying with Orchid and they were headed towards a cave, the ground nearby was frozen like winter, with pokemon playing in the snow nearby. Brian's thoughts were scattered as he heard pidgeotto screech. He opened his eyes, as pidgeotto landed in a clearing nearby the snow, yet still in the forest. They could sneak closer by land. If they landed near the cave they would be spotted, if anyone was still outside the cave.

"Fly around overhead, if you see me wave with one hand come in and pick me up."

Pidgeotto cawed and took off. Brian tried to be as stealthy as possible, which was not very good. He managed to get close enough to the cave to see a man and the blue haired girl in the mouth of the cave. He stood sill, and watched as the man took off in a drone. Brian held back, he didn't want them to know he was there. He knew the drone would be long gone by the time he got there anyway so there was no need to rush in. Brian started to walk closer, but in the process he slipped on a patch of ice and half slid and half tumbled down the hill toward the cave. He tried to stop but he wasn't used to the snow. He ended up just throwing more snow in the air and drawing more attention to himself. By the time he stopped rolling he was sure he had been spotted, but he was too dizzy to stand up and check.

Rex Dart

Brian is distracted by his C-gear, relaying the news of Deacon's altercation with the police. Rex just sighs, not surprised that the police would attack, or that Deacon would fight back. Subtlety apparently wasn't one of Deacon's strong suits.

"Wait a second, if that hacker I saw in my dreams turned out to be real then that girl probably is too!" Brian excitedly starts searching his C-gear again, leaving Rex confused. "Wait, what?"

"Sorry Rex but I've got to go help Shadow. It's urgent, they could already be in trouble! Take care of sylveon and fennekin for me, they can't fly on pidgeotto with me, he can't carry all that weight."

With that, Brian jumps on his bird and takes off into the sky, leaving Rex with his adorable Pokemon. "Wait, what girl? What dream? I have so many questions!" Rex yells after Brian, but he's too far away to hear him. "Argh, he's already gone..."

He turns to look at Fennekin and Sylveon, who stare up at him. "Uhh... Hey there, little guys. Guess Uncle Rex gets to babysit!" He forces a smile, but the two Pokemon look doubtful. "Okay, look. I'm really uncomfortable calling Pokemon by their species names, so I'm giving you each temporary nicknames until Brian gets back. You'll be Kit," he says as he picks up Fennekin, "and you'll be Sparkle." He says as he picks up Sylveon.

With the Pokemon held close, he makes his way back to the group, hoping everyone is in a better mood now.

Brian's pokemon stared in disbelief at the giant that stood before them. Brian ran off leaving them to be taken care of by an oaf.

Kit looked at Sparkle and they both sighed, rolling their eyes. Kit squirmed in Rex's tight grip while sparkle went limp hoping Rex would drop him. As they squirmed they realized it was no use and finally gave up allowing Rex to carry them. Kit looked at sparkle and mewed, mocking his new name. Sparkle glared at her and hissed, whipping her with one of his ribbons that was loose. She sneered at him and then they both giggled. Sparkle mewed out something that if Rex could understand probably would have insulted him. Both of them burst out laughing in the noisy mews that the two pokemon make.

Delysia - Caverns Below Mt. Silver

After they reached the cavern floor, the rough gravel surface crunching under their feet, Val said, "Do you know a place on this mountain I can find a powerful Flying type that is large enough to carry me?" She thought for a moment, gazing across the cavern, thinking of all of the pokemon that she had seen here over the past few weeks. She answered slowly, choosing her words carefully, "Skarmory can be found on the higher slopes of the mountain, but it would take at least a couple of days to get up there. Down here there are plenty of Golbats and some Crobats too if you look hard enough. Those are surprisingly strong despite their size. Other than that, there's not much" she finished. "Oh", she added after another moment of thought, "I've actually see a couple of Hydreigon in this area. A bit hard to track down, and incredibly nasty from what I've seen." She shrugged. "But I'm sure you could take one. The only trick is finding one."

She had thought of capturing one of them for herself, but not all pokemon enjoyed being caught and taking orders, and she didn't like the idea of having to train a disobedient tri-headed dragon that could probably eat her for breakfast. Turning away from Val she look over to Gray who was staring at a lone Aggron relatively close by. "Oh, you don't want that one", she said as if she had heard his thoughts, "If you are looking for strength, he is about average in this cavern. But he has a nasty attitude. See how all of the other pokemon move in herds? The strongest protects the weaker ones, and the weaker help out in combat. As for that one, lets just say that he doesn't play well with others. Go after him if you don't want to deal with any lackey pokemon. But if you want strength, I can point you towards a few others."

She sighed to herself as she stared about the cavern. For years she doubted anybody had ever visited this part of the mountain. These pokemon probably were born and lived without ever seeing a human being, and she almost felt guilty for intruding upon their exosystem. Being a hybrid, she felt compassion for them. Many other trainers used their pokemon as mere tools, and she had her share of being used. She shook her head trying to clear her thoughts. She tried to look for the good in people, trusting that people used their pokemon for good. But she could never completely get rid of that distrust in people. She just hoped that the two that she had led down here were decent people, that they would treat any pokemon they might catch down here fairly.

Arryn; Ice & Dark

"Yes Arryn, did you need something?"

The group was split from each other and Arryn had no way of knowing where everyone was; not with the sun setting and her C-Gear's battery draining bit by bit. Every few minutes something ridiculous would happen and someone would leave.

Yes, I do need something, I need everyone to stop messing about and quit causing chaos every where they go.

"No, not anything in particular," Arryn sighs. "A place for everyone to rest for the night would be ideal." It took her hours to find that house, a safe place that should have been their serenity for at least a few days. How did Orchid even know where to find us?

The C-Gear around her wrist sounds with an incoming call. Shadow's name appears on the screen and she accepts it.

"Arryn... I will let you choose what to do with Orchird. I accepted her into the group because Tulip seemed to still care about her... I should have taken your feelings into consideration.... and I am deeply sorry for that. Truly I am. Anyway, I am heading to get some clothing for the Ice Cave. Even as a fire type, I still get cold. Everyone should probably get some warm clothing. Maybe Lydia can make some or something. But Autumn starts tomorrow and as I look north, it will be cool. If anything comes up, I will let you know. Good luck. I... I will be back soon."

The C-Gear hangs up on Shadow's end and Arryn clicks hers off, uncertain how to move forward. What do I want to do with Orchid? Kill her, of course but Tulip would chuck a tantrum if I did. If Shadow will return soon, then Arryn only has to keep up this charade as leader for a short amount of time. It felt wrong, having that level of responsibility, but she had to make do for the time being.

Opening her C-Gear again, she sends out a mass text to anyone that cares to check: If you cannot make it back to the forest by nightfall, keep yourselves safe until morning.

She pauses and then sends a separate message to Gray: Where are you?

Shadow:

Something has happened in Goldenrod. I suggest sending a message. I also suggest getting everyone to Ecruteak City. It is a safe haven for pokemon and hybrids. Not to mention Morty is there. You were friends with him the last time we came to this land. I am sure he will help. Also the police force are ghost type pokemon, so we shouldn't have to worry about the law.
The darker aura one who was outside seems to have left, but a new... more familiar aura had come.
Lucario's voice sounded in Shadow's head.

"Right." Shadow said as he looked around the extremely cold cavern. Orchid had not said anything since he had pointed out that she was indeed changing even if she hadn't realized it.

He then looked and he saw a Sneasil looking right at him curiously.

"Hello little guy. Don't worry I don't want to hurt you. How would you like to have a friend? I know a girl who would love to have a sneasil." Shadow said, at that point the C-Gear rang.

If you cannot make it back to the forest by nightfall, keep yourselves safe until morning. ~ Arryn

Shadow quickly selected everyone on his list including those that had been added automatically thanks to his C-Gear's ability to add people within range.

Everyone make your way to Ecruteak City, and don't cause anymore problems. We need a place to rest and the forest isn't going to cut it! That city is a safe haven for pokemon and hybrids alike. ~ Shadow

With that Shadow turned to where the Sneasil was. The pokemon had been injured some how. Shadow walked over to it and looked at it. It looked like it had been in a fight, one claw was broken on its left hand. Shadow showed an image of Arryn that appeared when she sent a message or called the C-Gear.

"So how about it?" Shadow asked.

The sneasil was male, indicated by its long ear. It had a broken claw on the left hand and had a few scar on its body from fighting with other sneasils.

"Here let me see your arm, "Shadow asked as he slowly made his way toward to sneasil. Shadow put out his hand, but it backed away. Eevee, who had fallen asleep on Shadow's shoulder appeared out of the hood and leaped down to where sneasil was. The two pokemon started to talk in pokemon talk. Sneasil slowly put it arm in Shadow's hand. Shadow made sure not to active his flash fire or a fire attack.

"Looks like you were hit pretty hard. I can heal you, but not hear. I don't have any potions or berries with me at the moment. So come with me. I will help you. You will have lot of friends and one who is a lot like you. She is Ice and Dark type, just like you." Shadow said.

The little sneasil looked up at Shadow and thought about if it wanted to join or not. Little did Shadow know though, another pokemon was taking a interest in him.

Phoena:

Phoena never got a chance to speak before than man ran off. She had been surprised by the fact that he knew of her and her past. However, he didn't know his feelings for him. For all he knew, they could have hated each other and just worked together.

Phoena heard someone tumbling down a hill, but as she looked, he was just a little kid so he ignored him. She figured he was just some new trainer trying to make it into the pokemon league. He didn't won't him to get involved if it turned deadly.

She walked toward the cave and entered the cave, looking for Shadow and the Orchid girl.

Pokemon
Spoiler:

Brian shook the snow off of himself and stood, looking to see what the girl was doing. To his surprise she was turned around heading into the cave. Either she didn't see him or didn't care, either way Brian was glad. Just then his c-gear rang, twice.

If you cannot make it back to the forest by nightfall, keep yourselves safe until morning. ~ Arryn
Everyone make your way to Ecruteak City, and don't cause anymore problems. We need a place to rest and the forest isn't going to cut it! That city is a safe haven for pokemon and hybrids alike. ~ Shadow

Brian glanced at his screen, realizing that he had not told the others their c-gears may be hacked. He typed up a message and hit send-all.

Don't send any important information over c-gear messages, especially not your location. ALL your c-gears may be hacked, please do not go into the city without being in a group of at least three people. There is a man with a drone after Deacon, and I fear he may be after all of us. ~Brian(the new kid)

He included the last part as he was sending these messages to everyone, including the guy named Gray who he had yet to meet. Brian walked up to the cave, making noise as he was trying to distract the girl. Shadow and Orchid came here for a reason, Brian wanted to make sure they accomplished what they came here to do before the girl could interrupt them. He kicked the walls, stomped on the ground, and yelled as he walked through the cave. He hoped the girl would hear him and turn around, or Shadow would hear him and know that someone else was in the cave with them. After doing this for a while he grew tired and sat down, staring down into the tunnel. He saw some movement in the tunnel, he followed it. Just then it switched direction and darted beneath him. Brian tripped and fell on top of it, then rolled off of it. He looked at the now scared cubchoo.

"Hello little guy!" Brian was exited to see the cute pokemon but being cautious as to not scare it away. "Are you hurt?" He asked, the small bear-like pokemon shook it's head. "Don't be scared," Brian said while moving closer "I'm not going to sit on you again." He smiled and the cubchoo looked like it was giggling. Brian reached out a hand and helped the cubchoo to its feet. The pokemon then ran up to his leg and hugged it, then ran around again. It slipped and fell, but Brian caught it and set it upright again. The bear laughed and hugged his arm, this time not letting go. "Do you want to come with me?" Brian asked, the bear nodded. "What about your family?" The bear looked at him with a sad face, then shook its head. "Oh, I'm sorry. I bet you'll have fun with me though, I have three other pokemon friends and a group of People that I travel with so you'll never get lonely." The bear smiled and crawled up his arm onto his shoulders. "Well let's get moving then!" Brian continued down the cave looking for his friends and the blue-haired girl.

Rex Dart

Kit and Sparkle make adorable Pokemon sounds to each other, including giggling. Rex is glad he doesn't have a reputation as a ferocious dragon to uphold. Suddenly the his C-gear rings, not once, not twice, but three times. He sighs, holding both Pokemon close to his chest with one arm while he digs the phone out of his pocket.

"Blah, blah, find a safe place, head for Ecruteak? Don't send important information... may be hacked? Are you serious?" He turns the C-gear off, looking down at his two wards. "This is why I hate machines. Nothing but trouble comes from them." He starts heading north, toward the Park and Ecruteak.

Along the way, he stops at a pet supply store, buying two leashes and fur-lined knapsacks. This way, Kit and Sparkle can walk beside him (their leashes tied to his belt so they don't get seperated), or curl up in a little sleeping bag if they get tired (he straps a bag over each shoulder, essentially giving them piggyback rides when they get tired).

"The things I do for friends..." he mutters, but genuinely smiles as his wards seem happier now. "We've got a long walk ahead of us, kids."

Kit and Sparkle stared with joy at the pet supply store. They were relieved when Rex set them down to buy some leashes and bags. Kit stretched out while Sparkle explored the store. They weren't surprised when Rex attached the leashes to them and led them out of the store. Sparkle enjoyed the walk while Kit crawled up Rex's back into one of the bags he had slung over his shoulders. Kit curled up into a ball and went to sleep while Sparkle ran around. Sparkle was running around Rex's legs, tying the leash around him. He stopped and Rex fell forward, landing on his stomach. Sparkle jumped up onto Rex's head, casually licking his paws clean. He had gotten his revenge for the girly name that Rex gave him, so he was happy now. Kit opened her eyes, looked up at Sparkle and then went back to sleep.

The girl's words sparked another memory.

"How does your Golbat carry you around so easily?" While she usually held a hostile tone when talking to this man, this time it was only curious.
"The whole Zubat line are stronger than they look. When it was just a Zubat, it would fly short distances with a passenger. As a Golbat, it can carry humans much longer distances."
"And as a Crobat?"
"Hell if I've ever been carried by a Crobat. How should I know? This stupid Pokemon won't evolve!"
"Maybe it's because Golbat is one of those Pokemon that needs high friendship to evolve. If you can't treat him better, he'll never evolve..."

Dammit, why was this happening now? She leaves Team Rocket and is suddenly bombarded by memories! But only memories of him. "Skarmory a couple of days away...or Hydreigon in this area?" She turned away, unclipping two Ultra Balls from her belt. Persian and Gliscor burst out, the former sitting by her feet and the latter gliding in a circle above her. "Search this cavern. There are Hydreigon hiding here, and I want one," she ordered.

Gliscor let out a hissing noise of understanding before darting away to being an aerial search. Persian mewed and slunk off, beginning to search the area for a scent. Val herself went off in the opposite direction of Persian. It wouldn't be right to have her Pokemon search alone for something that she wanted. Her whole team had always been partners, after all. A large, brutal beast with three heads, Hydreigon would be a challenge to train. Especially as she was searching for one that was already fully evolved, rather than raising one from a Deino herself. But the end result would certainly be worth it, and she had no doubt that such a Pokemon would be a valuable asset to the team. If she could convince one to join her, that was.

After a while of searching (Val never was good at keeping track of how much time had passed unless she had a watch or something) a yowl from Persian caught her attention. The sound was soon answered by a call from Gliscor. The two sounded to be very near each other, perhaps at the same location. Then a roar sounded. A roar of nine different voices. The Normal/Ghost hybrid turn and pretty much sprinted in the direction they'd come from, a battle soon coming into view. Gliscor was swooping and diving through the air, while Persian was ducking and weaving about on the ground, both doing their best to avoid attacks being fired at them while trying to get in hits themselves. Their opponents? Not one, but three pissed off Hydreigon. She grabbed the third Ultra Ball from her belt and tossed out a Feraligatr. Persian and Gliscor noticed her arrival and quickly her three Pokemon formed a line behind her, while the Hydreigon they were facing all roared again, beginning to close in. Val halted their approach by drawing her blade and lashing out with a few warning swipes of a Sacred Sword. "Listen up. I'm looking for a new addition to my team, and one of you three would fit well. If you don't want to risk being captured, leave now. Because I challenge whomever stays to a battle." One of the three paused. It didn't appear as angry as the other two and considered her words before turning and flying off. The two that remained just roared again, accepting her challenge. "Alright then. I'll take on one of you myself, and my Pokemon will fight the other." Three against one? Val saw that as completely fair. After all, Hydreigon had three heads. She leapt forward to place herself right in front of the larger Hydreigon. This one she could tell was female, while the other appeared to be male.

Val and Hydreigon #1
The hybrid was the first to strike, focusing her energy with the gem in her forehead to use Toxic. The red gem briefly gave off a very faint, sickly purple glow before poison began to seep through the ground beneath Hydreigon. It suddenly rose up in a wave to crash down on the Dragon/Dark type, vanishing to leave the Pokemon with the Poison status condition. Then she lightly ran forward, jumping aside as one head struck out with Crunch and delivering a swift Sacred Sword that connected with two of the wings. Hydreigon spun with a furious roar and blasted her with a Draco Meteor. Val whistled, impressed, as she dove aside. Draco Meteor could only be taught through tutoring. Either this one had already had a Trainer that released it, or it had learned from a different Dragon type that knew the move. She'd never seen it used before, and so was unprepared when the one large blast of Draconic energy split apart to rain down around her like, well, like meteors. Small meteors. A few managed to pummel her, and she hissed angrily, using a barrage of Psycho Cuts to blast apart any more that neared her. Each time one was destroyed, smoke rose up. Eventually, she was hidden from view by a cloud of smoke, and when it cleared...she was gone. Hydreigon looked around, confused. Beneath it, it's shadow began to writhe before Val slid up out of it to attack from below with more Sacred Swords. Five hits. Six hits. Dodge another Crunch. Seven hits. That seemed to be all that Hydreigon could take. It was no weakling, being a pseudo-legendary Pokemon, but Val proved stronger. She watched as it sank to the ground, defeated.

Persian, Gliscor, Feraligatr, and Hydreigon #2
While that was going on, Val's Pokemon and the other Hydreigon had engaged in battle as well. This one was much shorter than the other. Persian attack from one side with Play Rough while Feraligatr attacked from the other side with Ice Beam. The Gliscor came in from above and landed a hit with Guillotine. The first two moves had incredibly weakened Hydreigon, and the OHKO attack from Gliscor ended the battle just seconds after it began.

All
Val sheathed her sword before crouching over the Hydreigon she'd beaten, reaching into her pouch and pulling out a Full Restore. She sprayed it over the Pokemon, healing the Poison and bringing it back up to full health. Then she turned to give the other Hydreigon a Max Revive. Gliscor hissed at the second Hydreigon, acting as if he were about to swoop in with another Guillotine. Hydreigon couldn't fly off fast enough, which left all three of Val's Pokemon sitting on the ground and laughing. Val herself just sighed and shook her head before turning to the Hydreigon she'd fought, holding up an empty Ultra Ball. "Even though I won, I won't force you in. But your strength is great, and I would love you have you join us."

Hydreigon seemed to be considering her words, before one of the smaller heads moved forward to touch the button of the Pokeball. Red light enveloped the Pokemon's form as it was sucked inside.

Shadow and Phoena

Shadow's C-Gear rang almost right after he had sent his message out. He read it in his head.

"Damn it.... it is too late now... We will deal with things later." Shadow told himself.

Shadow looked back at Orchid who had remained silent much of the time. He looked over at the sneasil who was looking at Eevee at the moment. He had started to become cold and his body was starting to become numb from the cold. He had been here to long. The sneasil looked up at Shadow and nodded, agreeing to join him to meet its new trainer.

"Here little guy, I will give you the choice. Do you wish to remain outside or do you wish to come into a pokeball?" Shadow asked.

Sneasil walked over to the poke ball, touched it, and was absorbed at once. It only shook once before stopping. Critical Capture, possibly because it had chose to go with him.

"There you go. We will meet your trainer soon." Shadow said.

Shadow thought about it for a moment... the guy who seemed to have hacked the C-Gears, probably already knew everything. Shadow didn't care, all he wanted to do now was see Arryn after he looked around for the Ice Stone. He pulled up Arryn name, and sent live video chat to her only.

"Yo Arryn, I have that gift for you! I hope you l-" The C-Gear messed up and the video chat ended abruptly, probably warning Arryn of something happening. Suddenly he heard different noises echoing through the cave to him now. He quickly turned and at that moment, Lucario's voice entered his head.

The confused one is here and the other one is close behind!

"Sh...Shadow...." A new voice came.

Shadow's eyes widened as he knew the voice. He turned to see the blue hair.

"P... Phoena!? Why are you here? I thought you were in Kalos." Shadow said, taking a step forward.

---------
"Shadow.... please... tell me what you have done. Who are you talking about? And who is that woman?" Phoena asked, her eyes desperately pleaded for answers.

"What? What are you talking about? I haven't done anything, but kill team rocket members. I attacked the police in self defense, but I didn't kill any of them." Shadow said.

Phoena closed her eyes, and a tear rolled down. She ran to Shadow and hugged him.

"I am sorry......" Phoena suddenly summoned a water pulse and attacked Shadow at point blank range. The water exploded into Shadow before he could react and the water instantly froze from the coldness. The water covered the pokeballs preventing them from coming out.

---------
Shadow went flying into stalagmite with a stomach churning thud. All of his oxygen had been forced out of he body. If he hadn't been a hybrid, he would have died from the impact.

"P...Phoena... why?" Shadow asked, spitting blood out. He was no longer able to use any attacks. He had already been tired from the days events.

Phoena walked over to him, "I am sorry, but you are my target... and..... and I must finish you here."

Shadow got to his feet, slowly, after regaining so of his breath. His arm was hurt now. He wasn't angry. And he had no desire to fight a friend.

"Fight back damn you! Please!" Phoena pleaded.

Shadow looked at her and shook his head, "No... I can't... You won't...."

Shadow knew he couldn't fight, nor did he want to.

----
Phoena looked at him. Her emotions turned to one of hatred. But she didn't show them. She walked over to him and wrapped her arms around him. She had one hand between them.

------
Shadow hugged her back, but then his eyes widened as pain surged through his entire body. He let go and stepped back his hand went to his stomach, where a sacred sword had been thrusted through his body. Blood spewed out of the wound and he coughed up blood. He looked at Phoena. He had been betrayed for the first time in his life and the betrayal was from someone he thought as a close friend. It was then he knew there could no longer be any type of reason. At that moment he realized that no one could be trusted, even if they were friends.

The sacred sword disappeared and Shadow let out his breath, his life flashing before his eyes. He fell to the ground.

____
"You have become soft and it has made you blind." Phoena to an picture of Shadow as proof of her deed.

"Now to put you in the ground like I was told." Phoena summoned a hyper beam and aimed it, but not at Shadow, but at the ground below him.

_____
No Shadow!! Damn it this ice! I can't do anything! Lucario yelled in Shadow's head.

The ground below Shadow crumbled and he fell through endless floors. His head went backwards, and he rolled and flipped in a free fall down many floors of the cave. Eevee cowered in fear, but it was the action of another pokemon that possibly would be the savior. The pokemon picked up Eevee and jumped down after Shadow. The pokemon quickly used sandstorm to slow Shadow's fall, but Shadow still hit hard with a bone crunching thud that would have broken and possibly killed a normal person.
_____
Phoena let all her emotions out and tears flowed down her cheeks. She quickly used an escape rope and exited the cave within a blink of the eye. She was torn to pieces. She had done what she was told to do. And thus opened up the loop hole in the contract.

"Shadow.... please forgive me... I was told to put you in the ground... so I did... I hope you are strong enough to survive. I think you might be fine.... that pokemon.... that krokorok, was quick thinking. I really do hope you survive... but I guess this ends our friendship." Phoena said, bring Swanna out and flying away.

_____
Shadow laid nearly motionlessly on the ground as the ice and snow turned red from blood. Eevee looked around desperately, the crocodile pokemon pointed at a giant Ice Stalagmite. Eevee looked at it, it was at least 5 times bigger than a human. Eevee quickly ran over to the stone and touched it. Eevee started to slow and with great flash, Eevee turned into a Glacieon. Learning Ice Beam in the process.

'Krok krok krok.' the crocodile point at the human laying on the ground.

Glacieon nodded and released a massive Ice Beam and froze Shadow's body to stop the bleeding. But Shadow had lost a ton of blood. The bottom floor of the Ice Cave, was now a large puddle of blood.

_______

Shadow's mind went dark.... he felt cold.... his life started to fade... Only one face came to his dieing mind. Arryn's.

A....Arryn..... Please.................... please help..... I.... I.... I am sorry....

With the last words, most of his energy left his body. One thing kept him alive and that was the spirit of his sister inside of him. And the bond of his pokemon.

'Don't give up Shady...' Sara's voice entered his mind.

'Shadow! Don't give in! You have to survive! This world needs you!' Lucario's voice entered his mind.

Shadow hung on by an inch he looked at his Eevee, no Glacieon, freezing his body and a Krokorok who seemed to be watching the surrondings.

'Glacieon is working so hard to keep you alive! Don't let her new form be for nothing! If our pokeballs weren't frozen... we would help! Do no give up! Never give up till the end!' Lucario pleaded.

Harvey Scott

Harvey's private conversation with one of his associates was interrupted by a security alert on one of his proxie servers; someone was trying to trace him. Directing the signal to a random location the hacker would get a false indication that Harvey was somewhere in Hoenn. Returning to his conversation, the alert announced the attacker had opened a line of communication; the hacker was trying to talk to him. Looking less than amused by the interruption he ended the call with his associate and listened in Jack's message. Harvey was not impressed by the bragging hybrid, and his use of some sort of "Hackers device" showed his pride blinded him to the fact he had no idea what he was doing. Pulling up the stolen Team Rocket data files Harvey quickly searched the Hybrid's name, and discovered some interesting facts about the kid. A twisted smile grew on Harvey's face as he looked at the man's profile. Unlike the majority of fools that made up Team Rocket, this one could make an excellent pawn.

Setting up a secure line Harvey thought carefully about his response. Deciding to approach the man in a businesslike manner Harvey responded in a calm voice, "I am afraid I do not give away technology for free unless I have good reason to believe I will get a return on my investment. Being a member of Team Rocket makes me think it would be a waste, but you have achieved something so I am willing to listen. What type of technology are you seeking?"

Lydia

Nodding Lydia responded with her psychic abilities, "I know of a few places in the forest we can rest." Looking around she realized she was alone with Arryn, all the others had run off. Arryn seemed distracted by her electronic device at this point, but considering it could be used to communicate remotely she might have been trying to talk to the others.

Lydia suddenly decided to speak her mind to Arryn including some of her deeper view on Hybrids. The other woman seemed to be more in control of herself than the ther Hybrids. Lydia's mind began to speak as she kneeled down to pet the Vulpix standing next to her, "I am sorry I kicked everyone out of the Haven. I should not have taken you all there in the first place. I wanted to help you all and show you what I meant by balance, but deep down I knew it was a mistake. I foolishly thought everyone would suddenly defy their nature once they were there. I was wrong."

"I know I sound preachy a lot, and I might be seen talking down at you all. I'm just scared of Hybrids, including myself. We need to tame our natural tendency to be violent in every situation. I know and understand the feeling, and that is why I intentionally avoid learning attack abilities. I understand what I am and I fear it. Psychic is not my only type, and while I know the DNA of a Gardevoir must have been used in my creation due to some of my more unique traits, it was only part of my genetic puzzle. Due to the Gardevior DNA I like to claim I am part Fairy, but I am unable to learn those types of abilities with any sort of ease. I discovered my other typing when the man I came to see as my mentor and father was teaching me some…"

Suddenly Lydia stood up suddenly as a chill went down her spine and her eyes got big. She closed her eyes and tried to focus. Shadow still had the orb she had given him and as his life faded the orb's connection faded with him. The weakening of the link had alerted her, and when she focused she felt a chill. Looking over at Arryn Lydia telepathically said, "I think Shadow is in trouble the orb I gave him to establish a link for teleportation is weakening." Taking a deep breathe she immediately started to summon energy to teleport. "I can teleport you to him, while I wait here for the others… or I can teleport with you, so I can teleport us back out. The decision is yours, but I if you go alone take Aciri you might need her flames to help."

Arryn; Ice & Dark

"Yo Arryn, I have that gift for you! I hope you l-"

Arryn stares blankly as the C-Gear cuts off and leaves an option to call Shadow back; she tries, but with no response.

Lydia launches into an apology while Arryn tries to calm her racing heart and wandering mind that jumps to the worst possibilities.

"I think Shadow is in trouble the orb I gave him to establish a link for teleportation is weakening." Lydia confirms her thoughts. "I can teleport you to him, while I wait here for the others… or I can teleport with you, so I can teleport us back out. The decision is yours, but I if you go alone take Aciri you might need her flames to help."

Arryn nods rapidly and adjusts the bag looped over her shoulder, keeping one hand placed firmly over the sack, pressed it into her side. "I'll take Aciri. I need you to stay here in case anyone comes back. Take them anywhere that they will be safe."

Pokemon
Spoiler:

Brian continued down the cave looking for his friends and the blue-haired girl.

He had taken a few steps and then he heard voices and loud noises coming from further down the tunnel. He ran, tripping a few times as he sprinted down the tunnel. He fell down as the ground shook with a huge explosion. What was going on? Brian was terrified when he saw the blue haired girl, but in an instant she vanished. Brian was about to question it when he noticed the gaping hole in the floor. He set down the cubchoo, "Go up to the surface and wave to the pidgeotto flying around, Tell him Brian wants him to take you to Rex and then come back!" He turned around. He stared down the hole, horrified at what he saw. Shadow was lying at the bottom of the pit, he looked dead. Brian's head flooded with memories of his past.

It was minutes after his father fell off his braviary. Braviary set Brian down on the ground. Before he was even on the ground his feet were moving, he ran down the street to where his father lay in the road. Police already flooded the area, they wouldn't let him past. They said he would just get in the way. He raged at them, yelling and screaming as he tried to get closer to his dad. He succeeded in getting past them, if only for a few seconds. All he could remember was the pool of blood on the ground and his father laying there unconscious. They took him to the police station and made him sit there and recall every painful detail for their stupid report.

Brian snapped back to reality, "Not this time!" He said as he dropped down into the pit. He hit the ground and heard a sickening splat as his shoes stuck to the ground, he didn't bother to look down. He held out his hands, staring at them. "Come on hands, do that healing thing you did before." Brian tried to remember how he did it, but he couldn't remember. He did remember that when he was confident in the house with Rex and Deacon he could control his fire better, maybe if he concentrated hard enough he could heal Shadow.

He held his hands out and closed his eyes. All he could think about was his father's death, and then slowly his hans started to glow a faint pink. He lay his hands on Shadow's giant gash in his chest. It quickly started to heal, sealing shut and mending the flesh that had once been there.

Brian's face was as white as the snow and ice in the cave. He moved his hands over to shadow's head, using up his last bit of energy he healed Shadow's concussion from the fall and then collapsed on the floor next to him.
