    Eurovision Song Contest Event 2025!



    It's time to be United By Music once again, as we explore the artists, songs, and countries taking part in the 69th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest!



    Don't let the name fool you, the ESC is the world's largest song competition with entries ranging from alpine Austria, all the way down under to Australia!

    This year's contest takes place in the Swiss city of Basel, after Nemo was victorious last year with their song The Code.

    37 countries will compete once again this year, but Moldova has decided not to send any of the songs that took part in their 2025 national selection, citing quality and economic reasons. Montenegro makes their return to the competition with their first entry since 2022's "Breathe".

    Two televote only semi-finals will be held on 13th and 15th of May 2025, with Hazel Brugger and Sandra Studer hosting. Ten acts from each semi final will advance to the grand final on 17th May to join the 6 automatic qualifiers. Michelle Hunziker will co-host the final with Brugger and Studer. The final will have a 50/50 split of jury and televotes, and once again the whole world can vote in 2025.



    Eurovision was originally created to foster love, peace, and understanding between people from different cultures, and without borders. To celebrate this, we will assign each poster a random participating country to adopt for the duration of the event to bring us all closer together! Simply post anything in this thread, and I'll assign you a country!

    No matter what part of the world you're from, feel free to show love towards your fellow humans by displaying your assigned country somewhere in your profile or signature (not compulsory of course!)



    We would love you to join in the fun and tell us your favourite songs from the 37 entries in the following post, (in order please and only your first 10 will score points). Don't worry, you don't need to list all 37 (unless you want to of course!), but the closer you can get to 10 the better. The song with the most points at the end of the ESC event will be crowned the PokéCommunity Eurovision Champion!



    San Marino claimed our trophy last year, as rock band MEGARA topped the table with their song 11:11! We look forward to seeing who you crown this year!



    Later this week, we will also be hosting our annual ESC event quiz where you can battle it out against your fellow forum members. None of the questions are strictly Eurovision related so don't worry if you've never seen it before. You will have to be on top form though to beat our - checks notes - three time reigning quiz champion Devalue!!!

    E&M Eurovision Quiz 2025!!!



    While we enjoy the music, and wait nervously to see which country becomes PC Eurovision champion, we have some (loosely) ESC related quiz events for you to enjoy whether you participated in our poll or not, everyone is welcome to take part!



    We have three events this year:

    Our traditional "Name That Tune" round but with a slight twist... we're not actually looking for you to name the tunes ;)

    We will also be having some fun with flags...

    And we have a Photo ID round where you can probably work things out even if you don't know the answers!

    All will be revealed below, so stay tuned!



    The winner of the quiz will be able to claim a shiny standard virtual Pokémon of your choosing from our wonderful family over at Virtual Pokémon Pet

    I'm so exited! I have a medical appointment tomorrow morning, so if I'm safe to travel then I'll be heading there the day after!

    I think Emmy has a very good chance of qualifying, especially after seeing rehearsal footage. Such a fun song, but the howling for her bones gets me every single time 😭
