Elementary Stones are a interesting way to evolve your Pokemons. All you have to do is give specific stone to a specific Pokemon, and it evolves. What do you think of them? Do you think it would be better if We just evolved those specific Pokemons by level up? Discuss!

I like the evolution by stone method. It's pretty convenient, being able to chose when you want your Pokémon to evolve. I'd actually like to see more Pokémon evolving by this method. The only problem that I really have with it is that for whatever reason once you evolve a Pokémon by stone Game Freak decided to just do away with learned moves. I don't understand that part. It's not like evolution by trade Pokémon stop learning moves or something.

I always confuse Dawn and Shiny Stone and I always forget which Pokemon needs which of the two. That being said, I'm so-so on them. They add a way to evolve Pokemon outside of leveling, but often times evolving something with a stone also means that it misses out on a lot of moves; although, that's something that's gotten better over the gens...

don't mind this method, though i hate how some stones are really hard to find in some games. g/s were notorious for this, I literally couldn't evolve any of my Pokemon that needed stones, hence my level 60 vulpix

I like it as an alternative evolution method and without it we wouldn't have our evolution Pokémon Eevee. What annoys me though, is a limited number of evolution stones available in some of the games, which limits the number of evolved Pokémon you can use. Moon and sun stones are often hard to obtain besides the few you can find on the road, but that has been improved with the generations.

I feel like the title of this thread is wrong... it should be evolutionary stones.

I tend to not often use stone evolutions on my team given how rare the stones are, and I sometimes don't like the annoying methods for obtaining some (looking at you, inverse battles and your 7 super-effective hit requirement) as well as the fact they cannot learn new moves after evolution, so it's something you have to think hard about.

you're totally right whoops I don't know from where elementary came from

anyway, for me, they are okay, much better than the friendship evolution, however I still prefer the normal, level up evolutions.

I hate Evolutionary stones because they are very hard to find in the games, and if we need to buy them they are the way too much expensive so it is better to evolve Pokemon by levelling up.

I absolutely love evolutionary stones. They are a great way to evolve Pokemon. I think they were more useful in the original games, but they are still good to have. I just also hate how hard they can be to find. I wish you can just buy them at the mart (which you can in a game, but I forget which one).

I like Evolutionary Stones, it mixes things up a bit. Most of them are quite easy to get now with Super Training and the PokeMileage Club. The only one I've had a problem with is the Shiny Stone as I haven't had enough yet to Evolve all the different colours of Floette.

The evolutionary stones are a nice little way to evolve Pokémon. It wouldn't be very original if everything evolved by level-up. Since some of them aren't as easily obtainable in most games even though others are, it's not like they totally break the game. Getting them is like flipping a switch.

Well, please do not be offended but I hated this since I was a child. Since, it just ripoffs my evolution types. But, yeah I know it is kind of important but I do not want it. Ok, so first of all, when I was a child I am freaking confused what the heck are these stones. No Wi-Fi in this day so, time to figure it out myself! So, the stone is a Fire Stone so, catched many Fire types and finally find that Growlithe can!

So, now I liked this stones! :D

I liked it originally because it made certain Pokemon stand out, but honestly I really only prefer it for special cases like split evolutions. It's great for Eevee.

What I DON'T like about it is that once a Pokemon evolves by stone, with only a FEW exceptions, they stop learning moves naturally. I don't even really understand why this is. My only guess is that they figured since you can evolve the Pokemon at really any level it would encourage you to level the Pokemon to a reasonable point first... but it still seems a little silly.

I'm cool with evolutionary stones. The thing that I dislike from these stones is the level up moves limitation, only a few like Honchkrow can learn moves as they level up. Otherwise I'm good with them.

I can understand the high price, it's not just a piece of stone. Lol It's a stone that enables evolution, which can be sort of seen as permanent power up. So the prices are definitely reasonable.

The rarity on the other hand, isn't good. The chances for grabbing one via PokéMillage game and Super Training isn't as easy as a piece of cake, not to mention the chances are random; it's not a guarantee if you did your best at those games.

I'm ok with evolutionary stones. thought it's good way to evolve at anytime you want so you can keep the mons until your satisfied enough with it and evolve it away, the thing that pokemon evolve with this method have very small movepool compare to pre-evolve it have some more options than the evolved ones. The price is acceptable and finding it would be achievable, there's other way to claim; Super Training at very last level it's very troublesome and super hard just beating the score, time and the balloon is rather monotonous, Millage club is another way, but not as boring as super training, but the chance getting these stones are very least likely. I wonder why Dusk/Dawn Stone isn't on sale?

I like the concept of evolving Pokemon by different evolutionary stones, to remove them now would be a little unusual.

I like evolutionary stones! It's a new method to evolve without being necessary leveling up a pokémon to a certain level! And they are really important to evolve some of our friendly eeveelutions! But, despite evolutionary stones being a different method of evolving, they have their disadvantages!
First: They are a bit annoying to find, that irritates me a little! And I know that I can find those stones in markets, but there are some that are not there!
Two: The Pokémon that evolves from an evolutionary stone stops learning moves! Well that is a bit sad, maybe they want us to level up our pokémon before evolving them with a stone!

Despite all this, I still like evolutionary stones!
